Let me start by saying that Luciana was absolutely amazing for the lymphatic drainage massage. She was knowledgeable, kind, and made me feel very comfortable throughout the session. Unfortunately, my experience with the front desk left a lot to be desired. I've attached screenshots of our text exchange, where I was asked three separate times to change my appointment time. It was incredibly frustrating and felt very unprofessional. At one point, I almost canceled because of how disorganized it was. Another issue was the pricing. The website clearly states $80 for the massage, but in person I was charged $100. That kind of inconsistency is misleading and disappointing. The ambiance was just okay... nothing fancy or upscale, more of a basic setup. Because of the poor communication and the pricing issue, I honestly do not think I will be returning, which is a shame given how great Luciana was. read more

I go to the Culver location usually, but sometimes i go to Playa if I want to book a particular masseuse. Both places are always clean and welcoming, with a very professional atmosphere. The quality of the massages is frankly amazing given the price. I signed up for their emails and keep my eyes out for discounts - every little bit helps. I go about once and month and definitely see a major improvement in my overall wellbeing, from stressed out shoulders to shooting sciatica pain, regular massage keeps me feeling my best. Seems decently busy yet I was able to secure an appointment a day in advance so call! overheard customers who are leaving saying they really enjoyed their services so that was reassuring. The aesthetician came and introduced herself and lead me to the room. It was clean, neat and organized with a very comfortable treatment bed that had a soft warm blanket. Katia was super friendly, eager to please and very experienced. I would definitely return and request her as the aesthetician. Free parking lot makes it convenient. Today I had a 60 minute deep tissue massage with Mara Garcia. This was the best massage I have had in years! The body work she did on my glutes and hips was incredibly impressive! I have been searching for a therapist that can really do deep work and I am so happy to have found Mara! I'm so happy I already booked for next week! That's how impressed I was! The spa itself is small and not fancy. If you are looking for a spa experience like Burke Wililliams , this is not for you! Lucky me, that does not matter at all to me! I was in dire need of a massage from a stressful and busy couple months at work being in a tight scrunched up position when I sleep with it being a cold season. I was in the Culver City area looking for a good massage place. Let's just say I'm so happy I found this spot with good ratings so I called. The girl at the front desk was the nicest and listened to my concerns. I was used to getting massages from female therapists, but only males were available if I wanted to be seen right away. I would say it's meant to be, I haven't had too many great experiences with male therapists in the past, especially when they massage using their forearms and it's hairy and feels weird. She made sure to tell my therapist not to use his forearms and he listened. His name is Dennis (I think that's how you spell his name) and he too listened to all my needs and knew exactly what he was doing. His flow, energy, and the way he checked in to see if I was ok and liked the pressure, or if he could use an elbow. After 10 of working on me, and me not wanting much pressure on the lower back, he figured out I had sciatica and I never knew!! I will absolutely be back to see him! So grateful that I came in and got Dennis as my massage therapist. I feel so much relief and relaxed. Also happy to know that with a bit of stretching on my end and seeing him more, we can work on getting rid of the sciatica. read more

Long story short: - massage therapist had long and sharp nails that hurt - horrible customer service - long wait time (40 minutes) - tried to scam me into paying extra - tried to massage injured body part - language barrier that impedes service I really wanted to like this spot, but they've made too many errors and created lots of problems that were avoidable. I know everyone makes mistakes, so I gave the spot two chances, but it isn't working out. For one, the first massage therapist had horrifically long nails that scratched me. It's common sense to manage your nails if you're going to massage people, so not sure why this was an issue. Second, her music skipped and lagged, which ruined the serene environment one normally expects at a spa. This wasn't a huge deal, so I just let it go. But then she also didn't work on the body part I specified. I mentioned this to the receptionist after the massage and she said their office doesn't receive info from the intake form. If this is true, why don't they ask on the day of, on location? Of course the client would expect relevant answers (such as area of focus/injuries, etc.) asked on the form to be relayed to the massage therapist. The receptionist tried to make up for it by offering me a 30-min massage on the same day. I told her I had work soon and asked how long the wait would be. She said 20 minutes, so I sat and waited, but it took 40 minutes before I was seen again. I ended up being so rushed to work that I didn't get to eat anything that day until almost 5 p.m., which was very unpleasant and unhealthy. Despite that, I decided to book again with someone new because I understand people can have bad days. The second time was today and the massage therapist tried to massage the part of my body that I told her was injured. I spoke up about this to both the receptionist and the massage therapist, plus the area was in a soft cast (visible bandages from my doctor). Not only this, but her phone went off. I asked her to silence it and she said she did, but it was vibrating. I'm not sure she understands that vibrate and ringer are two different functions of the phone. This went on for a while and she even acknowledged it was her phone. She also didn't massage my face, which is standard for a 60-minute body massage. I asked her about it and she said every massage therapist has their own technique. While I agree each massage therapist may differ slightly in their approach, skipping an entire part of the body doesn't make sense. She said some people don't like having their faces touched, which could be managed by asking each client if they have any spots they don't want massaged. That's part of their job, after all. When I brought this up to the receptionist, she said the massage therapist silenced her phone, which suggests the massage therapist brought up the issue while I was getting dressed. It was a defensive argument rather than one that apologized for the problem. On top of that, she tried to charge me $15 extra for no reason. She then asked if I wanted to leave a tip, which made no sense because the signs in the rooms specify NOT to do this. I asked her about it and she said it's just a preference, which suggests the company takes their employees' tips-- yikes. Overall, I would stay away from this spot and save yourself the time, money, and hassle. read more

Highly recommend Denis; by far the best massage I've gotten in LA! He adjusted pressure to be more intense (perfect), is an attentive communicator, and has a really chill vibe. I got a 60 minute deep tissue massage because I have a lot of tension in my upper back. I also left notes when booking the appointment about shin splints. Before the massage, I pointed out my back soreness when he asked if there was anything he could focus on. I was impressed that he also made a point to ask about the shin splints. He really spent the majority of the time on these two things -- exactly what I needed! Throughout the massage, he checked in a few times about comfort level (he didn't do it too much; it was just clear that he wants his clients to communicate how they're feeling).
