I needed bathroom tile and hired Escalante Tile after reading Yelp reviews that were very good. ​I called and requested an appointment for an estimate. The appointment was within a few days and the price was very competitive. I had to wait for the painting contractor to start. Escalante Tile was very good about working with my schedule. The work started and it was unorganized and having me run back and forth getting Tile even though the design had been discussed and measuring had occurred. The bathroom shower Tile came out gorgeous! Based on the Tile looking really good, I added additional work with the floors instead of hiring an additional contractor. This was a total mistake! The bedroom and living room floors had some speaking issues and uneven areas. I pointed that out when getting the estimate and was assured that it would all be fixed during the installation of the Tile and engineered wood. The floors are so uneven that marbles could roll on them. The tile floors have several areas of concern. The wood floors are down right awful. Besides the uneven floors, there are areas with gaps, air pockets under the flooring, and awful transitions between the rooms. To top that off, the baseboards were removed. I gave permission because he stated that they need to be replaced. However he didn't make it clear that he was removing with them with the expectation of charging additional fees to reinstall. I was under the impression that it was included in the cost. Upon inspection of the floors, I brought all of the issues to Avilo's attention. He just kept stating that the floors were uneven because my floors were 'too bad' to start with. Well I knew that! I took the time to point out and discuss the existing condition in order to rectify the issues. He stated that he would fix the issues and then ended up with an awful end result. He NEVER told me that he had issues or areas that he could not fix during installation. He even charged an additional amount to purchase ply wood to fix some rotted wood. Upon inspection after completion, I expressed my disappointment and showed him several areas of concern. I pointed out the uneven tile in the washroom and kitchen. I pointed out gaps in the wood, places that were higher than others, areas in the rooms that felt like a roller coaster. He just kept saying that the floor was already bad. I argued with him round and round with him always blaming the previous flooring. I kept telling him that I knew. That was the reason I wanted new flooring! I asked if he would fix certain areas. He stated that he would charge me to fix anything. I ended up just paying him before my husband got involved. I am not satisfied and cannot recommend someone who nickel and dimes customers, leaves the job site sloppy with trash, and someone that lies about their skill. The company does a really good job with wall tile for showers, but not flooring! The tile is not even and the wood floors are a joke. I think I could have completed that same level of work watching a do it yourself video on YouTube. read more

Avilio and his team damaged the drain in my condo and the shower ceiling of the unit below collapsed from a water leak caused by Avilio. While he assured me that he had insurance, he refused to take responsibility for the damage and will not provide his insurance information. My insurance company is now seeking remedy for the damage caused. While the price was lower than competitors, you get what you pay for! read more

Avilio answered my request for a quote right away, and came out for the estimate the next day. It wasn't a very big job, so I worried it might not be worth his time. We scheduled a date for repairs then and there, and the total cost was less than others had quoted, which was a huge relief. He and his associate did excellent work on my small job re-grouting my shower, he cleaned up the rest of the grout, and it looks brand new.
