Terrible about returning calls, should've been my first clue! I had a leak in my bathtub faucet. Brian and his son looked at it and said it was a major job. He had to go through the wall and unfortunately break some tile which is old and hard to replace. He kept saying other plumbers would charge twice what he does. Then acted like he was doing me the biggest favor! All the while lying! It ended up costing $700 and they wrecked my tile, and never came back to finish the job. Make sure you don't pay them before they're done! And then it's still questionable. It only worked the last 3 months. Then started leaking terribly again! I had someone else come out and he fixed the leak in about 15 minutes, and also said in his 30 years of plumbing he had never seen an O ring used. He said they used wrong parts! They never finished the job and ripped off a lady on a limited income!! I had to pick 1 star to post this, it should be negative 5 stars!! read more

I called them on a rainy Sunday as my dishwasher was plugged somewhere and I just got through cleaning up a major overflow. Brian actually had me troubleshoot a couple things prior to coming out as he didnt want me to pay for something that I could potentially fix. I followed the instructions and couldnt find the problem so I had him come out. He and another guy were courteous, gave me some good tips on dealing with an overlowing dishwasher and found the culprit which was a rubber leg that peeled off a cutting board blocking the drain. These guys are awesome. They just saved me two days in a row. The first on a SUNDAY when a "little home repair" went wrong... they were really nice about it- told us that the issue wasn't our fault- we couldn't have solved the issue on our own, and didn't gouge us. Today when i went into my office and the water was off- they were on site within 1 hour! When I called him and explained what was happening (I was perplexed)- he knew exactly what had happened (copper pipes stolen)- and they had everything fixed and working in just a few hours. I used Erwin & Sons to replace a water heater. He quoted me a price but ends up I have to pay more because of some code upgrades. After that I ask Bryan to send me the invoice so I can pay. He said that I need to pay first before sending me the invoice (Odd, but I did). The drama started afterwards. After I sent in the check and he confirmed that he got it. I asked him to send me the invoice/receipt. He said he will. This was last January 2015. And afterwards I tried to contact him many times and finally in April he said he has already sent me one and will send another one if I didn't receive it. It never came. So I ask if he can fax me. He said yes, but that never came too. I don't know why, it seems something fishy here. Now it is May already, and I haven't received any paperwork from them. I do property management and I need receipts for owners. I don't think I will use them again. read more

Who Says you can't find an honest plumber, esp. online... I called Erwin & Sons plumbing for a drain issue in our side yard. We explained that the drain was barely flowing and we were worried about it being clogged and with the possibility of a wet winter we wanted to be prepared. I am always a little worried about calling a random business about home repairs but with his yelp reviews I thought lets give this a shot. They could tell me I have to buy the moon and I wouldn't know the difference. My husband (whom is super reserved) hit it off with him right away. He explained how to keep the drain clear and did the initial clearing for free. He also threw in some materials just for the fun of it. How often in this day and age will you find someone not only honest enough but willing to basically just help out. He said it was as simple as attaching this piece to the hose and blowing the debri out but he could have charged us a fair amount and we would have still be happy with his service. Had major problem with my sink after moving into my new home. These guys were great, called them on a Sunday because my main line was backed up. They were out within two hours, and not only did they clear the line, they sent a camera down to determine the problem, and used a hydrojet to clear out excess build up. Unfortunately the main problem is roots where the line meets with the city line but Brian also gave me an at home solution to use once a month to keep those roots at bay instead of buying the costly root killer at Home Depot. I called Brian at 7:30 on a Friday night. He called back within five minutes and offered to come over that night or the next morning to fix our broken water heater, letting me know the difference in cost. So that we didn't have to run to the gym to shower, we had Brian come over that night. He had the water heater fixed within ten minutes after the PG&E rep warned us we might need a new water heater. although they did come to help us unclog our drains on a weekend day, which of course is a hard day to have a plumber come out and would normally charge a lot, I must say they didn't take advantage of us and charged us a fair price for coming out at a moments notice......BUT we did need to have a few more things done the following month. Which we called and made an appointment for them to come in the following morning and THEY NEVER SHOWED UP OR CALLED!!!! we called a numerous amount of times to figure out what was going on or if they were coming at all and all we got was their voice mail. Awesome company and people!!! I can't say enough how good of a job they did on my older home. This house has had issues for a very long time and no other company was ever able to determine what exactly the issue was. After showing up 3 hours early with a small window before next appointment they spent several hours here determined to get the job done right. It involved way more then expected and after finding a cleanout buried under a concrete walkway (which I had no idea existed previously) they jack hammered the area out and ran the snake through and now I finally have no more plumbing problems. The cost remained minimal for what was involved in an expected quick and easy routine job. These guys are incredibly good at what they do and very determined not to let anything stand in there way of resolving any issue.
