A completely unexpected stop for a meal on New Years' Day, this place is great and hit the spot. Want a tasty Wagyu Burger for dinner? They have it and it's great! Side of onion rings was perfect, and fresh too. Discovering the place is owned and run by Movie Producer Jerry Bruckheimers wife Linda, the interior drips with Americana and is worth the stop for the ambience alone. Our waitress Cassie was awesome, with southern hospitality served just right. If you're out on the bourbon trail, make sure to stop here, in the small burg of Bloomfield, you won't regret it. The good: It has some cool old memorabilia. It has a really cool ice cream shop attached with a classic old bowling alley to really give you a flashback to better days. The Bad? Well, the food isn't really that good. Had the Wagu burger and well.... I'm pretty sure mine still had life in it. It was still raw inside. The Cole slaw is a hard no. The fries, tasted like frozen fries with season salt. In my opinion, just go here for desert or maybe a cold drink. After all, you're in Kentucky and they don't make the bourbon in house. read more

I so badly wanted this place to be amazing. I first found it on TikTok and immediately saved it on this app. Recently had to drive thru and stopped in. Yes it was a Friday night. So it was very busy. But our food was awful. I had a BLT sandwich. The bread seemed to probably be toasted on a flat top griddle in what tasted like an inch of oil. I could feel it on my lips every time I took a bite. As my boyfriend said, "It's pretty bad when the fries are the best part of the meal." He had the chicken sandwich with fries. His chicken was over cooked and not even 10 minutes later he couldn't leave the bathroom. Not because of food poisoning. We aren't really sure what caused it. Maybe the oil. Idk. The staff being amazing, tentative, sweet, and fast is what saved this from being a 1 star review. We waited a little over 30 minutes for 2 very simple sandwiches because we had to be somewhere. On a Sunday afternoon we road tripped to Bloomfield from Louisville (45 minute trip, mostly counrty back roads but 55 mph) for antiqueing at Nettie Jarvis's, (separate review) a Sunday drive, late lunch at Ernies and to see John Deer tractors, (Stonehenge) . Ernies serves counrty cooking, comfort food. They had an extremely loud live band this afternoon. They were good but to loud for us the the small space. There are booths and tables with an ice cream shop and a 4 lane bowling alley attached. Service was good and food was mediocore. We had a fried green tomato appetizer. They were served hot and crispy but were kind of greasy but a good flavor. For dinner we split the chicken dinner and had the garlic mashed potatoes and grilled veggie medley (carrots, broccoli and cauliflower) as our sides. It also came with grilled Texas toast. There were 2 small pieces of chicken when she brought our dinner, a three bite thigh and a 2 bite leg. The waitress even said it was a palrty serving and brought us another 2 bite chicken leg. Potatoes and veggies were good, well seasoned and cooked. Chicken again was greasy and a bit over cooked. Go for the antique shop experience and maybe an ice cream and skip the resturant. read more

I got the southern burger with the pimento cheese and bacon with a side of onion rings. The meats is an American waygu which is very juicy and tasty. The onion rings are beer battered and were fantastic. The decor is super cool and great vibe. They are connected to an ice cream and old school 3 lane bowling alley. Great spot in a small town. Love the old ambiance and decor definitely super nostalgic. We did not eat but husband had two whiskey sours and I had an ice cream cone. The ice cream bar is super nostalgic and even has a small bowling alley. Adorable small town even on a late Sunday evening wish more stores were open. read more

Ernie's Tavern, and their incredibly friendly staff, makes me want to move there tomorrow! In fact, everything surrounding this town speaks to me. But let's focus on the Tavern. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with smiles and welcomes and one of the most visually stimulating places I've ever encountered. Antique signage, and memorabilia to keep your interest until the incredible food comes. . . then the focus is food like your mouth went to heaven. I had the BBQ Bourbon Chicken sandwich of my dreams. You know what I'm talking about. . . the sandwich you always desire when you see them on IG, or commercials - seasoned just right, crispy, but not too much breading that guarded a juicy, chicken breast. All the fixin's, but not too much. But let's not forget the "side dish" . . . tator tots! Not t the junk you remember served at school lunch, these were tots that were so crisp and potatoey. I fail to understand the appeal of this place. The ambience and decor were on point to achieve the "old timey " feel but if you think for a minute that it is a place to go for a good lunch then go elsewhere. Visit, yes. Eat, no. The micro (!!!!) kitchen is behind the bar where they keep things warm and then assemble for orders. It's weird. I knew immediately when I saw the food prep that it was a mistake to pay what we did for a burger and cold fries. Absolutely wild that they even serve food. Three stars are ONLY for the effort to create the look and feel of days gone by. The food gets one star at best. If they put as much effort into the menu and food as they did on the decor, this place would be highly recommended. Until then, it was a nice one time only visit. read more

Incredibly fun vibe with everything in one location! Ice cream, bowling, pool, arcade games, a bar, restaurant and even T-shirts. Really cool location in downtown Bloomfield, a smaller town close to Bardstown and the bourbon trail. The decor really makes this place. Little pieces of Kentucky history combined with movie posters and memorabilia. Really something for everybody here and we come back every time we're in the area. read more

I wanted to love this place. Great interior, will come back to enjoy some bowling. We ordered the hamburgers, they were tasteless and gray on the inside. The onions made my eyes water before I took a bite of the burger, so I quickly discarded, perhaps a bit dated. The tater tots tasted freezer burned, so I will get the fries next time, but no one at the table had hot fries or hot tater tots, kind of a threshold issue for any fried tater to taste good. I would say simplify your menu so what goes out tastes good, but the menu is already very basic. Perhaps the cook could handle a pan-fried ham and cheese sandwich, and make sure the fries are hot before sent out to customers. The hamburger appears to be the star of the show and the best I can say about it is, "it did not get me sick". read more

We stopped here after seeing a sign on the parkway in hopes that they made old fashion soda as my son really wants to try all the different styles of Coke. Sadly they don't make soda in house but so glad we made the trip! What an awesome place!! The food was good, but the atmosphere was amazing!! I would definitely recommend checking this place out! It was a tight squeeze getting my son in his wheelchair in and there are interior steps but if you enter though the ice cream parlor side, both doors open and there's no step. The three stars are for the atmosphere and setting. What a cute and unique venu ! The other two stars not given are for the food. They don't have a kitchen. Everything is heated in a microwave or toaster oven one at a time. My friends burger came, then the tots, then my other friends sandwich and then the fries, and so on. Stopped by one afternoon for a couple of milkshakes for the ride home and wow, they where the real deal made with Graeter's ice cream. Very good! Went back today to try their burgers and fries but yeesh! Burgers seemed to be anything but beef. Kinda soft like they were made of soybean/fillers and tasted like a really bad meatloaf. I know it sounds harsh, but they were gross. It's a cool place but BYOB - bring your own burger! read more
