The room was fantastic…read morewith comfortable accommodations and I slept well after an initial adjustment period to the street noise below my window. I was in the upstairs corner Lincoln Suite and the stone walls are thick and several layers of draperies contribute to the quietude. Although the building is old, many modernized remodels have been completed. However, do not expect an up-to-date type space. For example, there is a slight step up into the bathroom. The door to the room also rattled whenever someone else closed a door elsewhere .... Or maybe that was Lincoln's ghost? I was too tired to fret about it and slept well. Would recommend staying here at least once for a unique experience. Breakfast was included in the room rate. Menu is in the room to contemplate ahead of time. Went down to the dining area prior to my check out and had a nice dining experience. Ordered the Traditional Breakfast option and it was well prepared and satisfying, so overall also a great value. There is also a Keurig coffeemaker in the room. Staff are all very welcoming and proficient. Parking was free next to the property.

4.5 What a pleasant and enjoyable stay! We were completely…read moresurprised by the comfort and conveniences provided at the Talbott Inn. We had looked at the historic rooms at the nearby Tavern (our reason for visiting), but decided not to take our chance on stairs we'd have to negotiate to get to a room. However, the Inn has a very large and convenient elevator, so that's the place we chose. (Note: the elevator is very slow...but what's the rush?) The reception desk and area is small but adequate with odds and ends of tchotchkes for sale. Receptionist was very polite. Our room was spacious! And...I mean bigger than the photos represent and much larger than we imagined. Large comfy bed, plenty of soft and medium pillows, fridge, microwave, chairs to lounge, relax, or read. Complementary bottles of water, coffee and coffee maker. All nice touches. And thermostat was easy to adjust. Bathroom was fine, clean, well-stocked with one notable exception, which we find in nearly every hotel we stay in these days: No towel rods to hang wet towels or wash cloths. That is, except one hook high up on the back of the bathroom door. (Virtually out of reach for my wife. We find this an unreasonable inconvenience in all our travels....(so only a half point deduction here.) Windows provided beautiful views of the square and were seemingly well-insulated....so no terrible traffic noises to keep us awake during the night. (OK...A few trucks in the morning, but not too early.) All-in-all we give this lodging very high marks and our solid recommendation. Oh, and very reasonably priced to boot!

I have recently come back to the area for work after 12 years away, so this was a very surprising new spot that is a hidden gem. Basically, it's got the footprint of an old motel, where the doors face outward, and refurbished all the rooms, renovations for them were really nice, and the bathrooms were also quite nice. Beds were cozy, the old AC units (window) worked well for the summer heat. Upon checking in, Jessie was super friendly and helpful. I saw about 15 colleagues drinking in the bar area, but since I arrived late I chose to go to my room. I found out that I didn't have a "do not disturb" sign available, and Jessie was kind enough to volunteer to walk it to my room and place it on the door for me. The extra mile was appreciated there. After our meeting, we always ended up in the bar/restaurant area which is set up quite nicely. Higher end, lots of bourbon and other booze available. One night I had one of their parm truffle fries with black garlic aioli that someone ordered and it blew my mind. Wednesday night I met some colleagues there for drinks after a long couple days of meetings. Brittany, Lo, Katie and Shay took care of us and made sure everyone had everything we needed. I overindulged but ordered my own set of truffle parm fries and they brought out enough for us to have our own dipping cups. It's that extra mile, again showing up. Service and hospitality are truly what makes this place special. The food, great! When I was checking out, Mary was kind enough to provide me with a physically printed receipt for the "receipt Nazis" when they need a copy for filing. She was helpful and answered my questions. I hope we have a rate for this spot moving forward. It's off the beaten path from the main strip, but right off the BGP. Can't miss it! Support these small owned businesses!

The hotel looks good on the website, but looks can be deceiving…read more First, this "new" hotel is a reskin of a vintage Holiday Inn motel, the sort where every room opens to the outside (no interior hallways). In May that isn't a huge deal but I don't know that I'd want to stay here in the winter or the fall. YMMV. Because it is an old motel, the rooms are very small, much smaller than they look in the photos. Dark and dingy, too. Vintage wall AC units. In contrast, the interior common area is quite large and more modern. It houses the restaurant, the main bar, and a few secondary rooms. The outdoor pool is large and has extensive seating. There is also a lift to get in to the pool for those with a disability, but it is quite vintage. The bar has a good bourbon list and small bites. The restaurant is just OK. Fine for a hotel but nothing notable. Staff was very friendly. I would be very careful to watch prices when booking this hotel. I booked in February for a May stay, and was charged over $300 a night. This is not a $300 a night hotel. If I was paying closer attention, I could have cancelled a week before and rebooked for $150 a night. You have been warned! Accessibility note If you use a wheelchair, as I do, I would not recommend staying here, for two reasons. As mentioned above, rooms are small - barely enough space for a wheelchair to navigate. The roll in shower, in particular, is very very tight and I ended up not using it. The other issue is bed height - they are extremely tall beds, the tallest I've encountered. I was able to work with the staff to have the platform removed, so that the box spring was on the floor, and that helped. Staff was friendly and helpful, but still, there's no reason for such tall beds. If you are not wheelchair bound, but of a modest height, you may still find the beds a challenge.

My husband and I were so impressed by the beautiful layout and convenience of everything in one place. Our daughter was over the moon when she heard that she could get married here. The venue is located in the gorgeous Gethsemane, KY just a short drive from Bardstown, the bourbon capital of the world. It's a peaceful drive to the country. The whole campus is quite impressive with numerous bed and breakfasts, an amphitheater with great entertainment on most Friday nights all summer and a tasting room. The Legacy is a beautiful building on the outside but be prepared when you walk in to be blown away. The breezeway is the perfect place for cocktail hour with its tall wooden beamed ceiling, rich wood walls and barrels. They had several bars set up so our guests were never waiting for a drink and delicious appetizers were served such as chicken & waffles , pork belly, crab cakes, mini hot browns and Nashville hot chicken with watermelon. We also had 2 charcuterie stations and our guests were loving it all. The chapel is perfect with large glass doors that open to announce the bride in the most elegant manner. The custom pearl white and gold chairs are classy and comfortable. The stage has a wooden wall for the backdrop and the area is so beautiful that very few flowers are needed if any. Outside the chapel are the groom's room and bride's room. The groom area is very manly with leather couches and lots of wood, a bar and dark decor. So cozy. The bride's room is my favorite. It is full of mirrors and great lighting for the wedding party to have hair and make up done. The attention to detail in this room is just one of a kind and the pictures are amazing. The large reception area is roomy and easily held our 230ish guests. The tables and linens are all on site and they set everything up except your personal decor. The chef is top notch and our food was phenomenal. We had short ribs and a honey bourbon chicken, cheese grits, mashed Yukon potatoes, the most delicious Brussel sprouts and 3 cheese Mac & cheese. Prior we had a blue cheese lettuce wedge which was nicely done. Our out of town guests were blown away by this hidden gem. So many compliments. We had the most amazing weekend. We rented the mansion behind the venue which was so convenient and beautiful. Our out of town family and friends rented a few other bnb's on site and everyone had the most amazing time. If you are looking for a one of a kind venue, this is it. There is not one thing we would change! So many guests came up to me at the reception to share how amazing they thought the venue was. The cabins on the property are beautiful and extremely helpful for out of state families. In addition, there are homes across the street for rent. All of the bride's family live out of state, and we were all able to stay on property and across the street for the entire time prior to and after the wedding. Last but not least, a huge THANK YOU to Stephanie! Stephanie provided so much value as the wedding coordinator. Stephanie provided guidance to our daughter during the planning stages and gave us great advice during set-up over the weekend, and she took care of everything during the wedding. Without Stephanie (& God answering prayers) I honestly do not believe our daughter and new son-in-law could have enjoyed themselves so much. As they shared, it was "the best day of their lives". If there were any glitches, we weren't aware because Stephanie had our back! We are so grateful to The Show Barn, Stephanie, the owners and the awesome properties made available for us to rent!
