    The old school bowling alley.

This is a fun family friendly tavern! It is very eclectic in its old school throwback decor and you definitely won't get bored looking around! We came to play Family Feud and despite thinking we were doing terrible we won second place! And it was a super close game we got beat by 1 point. It was so much fun! The food was really good and they had great prices! We also got ice cream which was equally delicious. It's about 30 minutes from Louisville and worth the drive!

Ernie's was just 8 minutes away from an estate sale we attended in Fairfield; We watched people bowl in the Alley had 3 lanes open. The Burgers were the best. Had shakes afterward and went to antique Bloomfield shops afterward.

Atmosphere, accommodation, service, food, music and amazing staff. What a great experience on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. A must stop to experience this amazing gem within a picturesque Southern Town. Thank you to the staff for helping us gain a better seat to the Cheyenne Band! Ask the bartenders to make you a great Old Fashioned. What?! Ice cream, bowling alley, lots of neon color, caring service, and music. For sure...

We stopped here after seeing a sign on the parkway in hopes that they made old fashion soda as my son really wants to try all the different styles of Coke. Sadly they don't make soda in house but so glad we made the trip! What an awesome place!! The food was good, but the atmosphere was amazing!! I would definitely recommend checking this place out! It was a tight squeeze getting my son in his wheelchair in and there are interior steps but if you enter though the ice cream parlor side, both doors open and there's no step. They do offer high chair for younger kids! Teeny tiny kitchen area behind the bar, but the food was good!

Folks, if you live in the country, particularly in the Bloomfield, Taylorsville or Bardstown area, check out this fun place! 50 cent billiards and pinball. Four bowling lanes available. Decent food available at a very reasonable price. Beer and mixed drinks offered. Also, an ice cream shop that is proudly serving Graeter's. Lots of interesting vintage decor to see. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We had a fun date night! We'll be back again to roll a few and eat another bite. Thank y'all!

Impeccable service and the ice cream is incredible! We were looking to have a nice time out, and we stumbled upon this place. To our surprise, this place is a magical scene right out of a movie. Filled with bowling, games, prizes and pleasantries. Cannot wait to go back! Highly recommend!

Very disappointing. Bowling alley food is usually good. After them not serving food for so long we were so excited to eat there. We won't do that again. Also no beer. We like to go with friends and have a few beers and bowl. We have gone several times but usually go to Elizabethtown so we can snack and drink while we play. They are losing a lot of money not having food and drinks. We will go to bowl but we would be spending a lot more money there if they were full service

We went for lunch around 12:15 on Tuesday. Everyone was really friendly. The waitress came over and took our order quickly. Some time went by and I could hear the waitress telling the man that cooked our food something was mixed up. They talked a minute and she brought my husband his plate. He ordered the Strike Out Burger (w/cheese) and an order of crinkle fries. She said mine would be just a minute. She came back very quickly with my plate; she walked away to greet a couple that had just walked in. I looked at my plate and then I looked at my husband. He said I think they forgot some of your fries. I literally had less than half of what he had, and it was clearly the bottom of the bag because neither fry was longer than a pen cap. Definitely not a $3 portion. But whatever... he said he'd share his fries with me. We were on our way out of town so we didn't have any extra time. As the waitress walked by, I asked if I could get pickles and mayo (both of which were missing from my hamburger). She brought them back quickly. My husband said that his burger was decent and hot. I could not say the same about mine. There is no possible way that my burger had just been made... NO WAY. It tasted and looked like it had been cooked earlier and then "reheated". I put reheated in quotes because my burger was not the least bit hot. Nothing about it was good. I ate a few bites but it was super tough, cold and had zero salt. I ate my fries and some of my husband's and I was done at that point. I know. I should have said something right then, but we were on our way to pick our daughter up and at that point I just wanted to leave. I saw my friend today (the one who told me about this place) and told him about my experience. He apologized and said he wasn't surprised. He said the last few times he's been recently, the food was not good at all. I'm not sure if there is a different cook, or what, but clearly something has changed. I always go back to a place a second time just to give them a second chance because any place can have a bad day. Maybe I came on a bad day or maybe this is their new normal.

I've recently developed the "Bowling Fever" and so it was time to get away from the house balls…read morethat the bowling alley has and upgrade to a ball of my own. I chose this location for a couple different reasons: - This place is located within the building of a really nice bowling alley. Really nice interior and good exterior appearance. I know how that sounds and I won't get into the studies of why this matters. But more customers, slightly higher prices because people want to bowl here, made me hope that this would mean a more experienced/knowledgeable bowling shop staff. - This building is located within a really large plaza that also has the gym I go to. ( Check out the LAC review). So this place was convenient to go to right after the gym. I went to this place on a Thursday and having never entered a bowling shop before, I asked for help. The staff explained the difference in the bowling balls and after I had chosen the type of ball I wanted, I was shown similar balls of different manufacturers. This was a good experience. I wasn't pushed to buy the most expensive ball though those balls were shown, but shown to a good ball based on my experience. Buying a ball has free drilling for finger holes but I didn't have time that day to get that done. I paid for the ball and went back the following day for that process. There were already a few customers in there and a few came in after me but the one person working there did an awesome job in handling the crowd. He attended to everyone; answering everyone's questions, taking down names and notes for people dropping off balls for service, etc. The person doing the drilling was very thorough in taking my measurements of bowling fingers and doing a couple different "tests" and measurements to ensure the ball was perfect for my hand. It's pretty neat to see a ball drilled specifically for you. So the experience was great, the shop is really clean, has good lighting, and has nifty looking shirts, shoes, and accessories. I ended up buying a bowling bag...because how else am I going to carry that heavy ball around right? Prices for bags were good and comparable to a couple other places in town- I had called a couple other locations just to make sure. I also looked at a few different websites for the bowling shoes I ended up choosing and this place was actually less expensive by several dollars. I'm happy I chose this location, definitely a 5 star experience for me. Glad I was able to add this business to our wonderful Yelp world.

I had no idea about this until I had gone upstairs and they directed me to the area. Your best bet, stay inside here as much as you can. Outside has an odor, so yeah, keep yourself inside, that's the only bad thing about this area. I guess the odor all depends on which way the wind blows. The downstairs portion of this place is huge. Offers a lot of options and is a great place to hold an event. There is a bar down here as well serving up your drinks. But there are more activities down here than just the bowling lanes upstairs. Darts, pinball, karaoke, pool tables, and probably the better of the floors here. Not taking anything away from the lanes upstairs, but you can only bowl so many games. 3.5 overall…read more Another visit to Vernon Lanes for both bowling and dinner. We were there on a Wednesday night and even at 7 PM, we were the only lane reservation. It was quite some time before we saw any other bowlers. I do wish that you could rent (during some of the weeknights) by game instead of by the hour. It's really tough to get in a full game and paying for two hours of bowling isn't always in the budget. Otherwise, no issue with the bowling lanes or shoe rental. Food was hit or miss this time. The buffalo chicken dip was a hit amongst several of us; however, my husband only ate a few bites of his fish and said that it was much too fishy. The burger also received mixed reviews. We didn't realize it came as two patties. While it was a very hefty portion, half of the group felt like it was boring. Service was quick and friendly. The parking lot does get quite full, especially if there is trivia downstairs. You may need to locate a spot along the street rather than their parking lot.
