On a Sunday afternoon we road tripped to Bloomfield from Louisville (45 minute trip, mostly counrty back roads but 55 mph) for antiqueing at Nettie Jarvis's, (separate review) a Sunday drive, late lunch at Ernies and to see John Deer tractors, (Stonehenge) . Ernies serves counrty cooking, comfort food. They had an extremely loud live band this afternoon. They were good but to loud for us the the small space. There are booths and tables with an ice cream shop and a 4 lane bowling alley attached. Service was good and food was mediocore. We had a fried green tomato appetizer. They were served hot and crispy but were kind of greasy but a good flavor. For dinner we split the chicken dinner and had the garlic mashed potatoes and grilled veggie medley (carrots, broccoli and cauliflower) as our sides. It also came with grilled Texas toast. There were 2 small pieces of chicken when she brought our dinner, a three bite thigh and a 2 bite leg. The waitress even said it was a palrty serving and brought us another 2 bite chicken leg. Potatoes and veggies were good, well seasoned and cooked. Chicken again was greasy and a bit over cooked. Go for the antique shop experience and maybe an ice cream and skip the resturant.

Ernie's was just 8 minutes away from an estate sale we attended in Fairfield; We watched people bowl in the Alley had 3 lanes open. The Burgers were the best. Had shakes afterward and went to antique Bloomfield shops afterward.

Atmosphere, accommodation, service, food, music and amazing staff. What a great experience on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. A must stop to experience this amazing gem within a picturesque Southern Town. Thank you to the staff for helping us gain a better seat to the Cheyenne Band! Ask the bartenders to make you a great Old Fashioned. What?! Ice cream, bowling alley, lots of neon color, caring service, and music. For sure...

We stopped here after seeing a sign on the parkway in hopes that they made old fashion soda as my son really wants to try all the different styles of Coke. Sadly they don't make soda in house but so glad we made the trip! What an awesome place!! The food was good, but the atmosphere was amazing!! I would definitely recommend checking this place out! It was a tight squeeze getting my son in his wheelchair in and there are interior steps but if you enter though the ice cream parlor side, both doors open and there's no step. They do offer high chair for younger kids! Teeny tiny kitchen area behind the bar, but the food was good!

Folks, if you live in the country, particularly in the Bloomfield, Taylorsville or Bardstown area, check out this fun place! 50 cent billiards and pinball. Four bowling lanes available. Decent food available at a very reasonable price. Beer and mixed drinks offered. Also, an ice cream shop that is proudly serving Graeter's. Lots of interesting vintage decor to see. The staff is very friendly and attentive. We had a fun date night! We'll be back again to roll a few and eat another bite. Thank y'all!

What a great find! Loaded with iconic signs and posters and what nots. It even has a bowling alley! It comes complete with an old timey soda fountain with my favorite Graeter's ice cream. Ernie's serves a great cheeseburger and country fried steak sandwich among other choices. They also sell cold bottled beer and cocktails. Just a fun place to visit. The atmosphere was amazing. Recommend.

Southern Burger-homemade pimento cheese, local bacon on top of fried green tomato and Bibb lettuce. Incredible!

We love city tours. Walking tours, bike tours, food tours, bus tours. With limited time in a city,…read morethey're a great way to get a feel for the area and to pick out places you'd like to revisit. Heck, we've even taken tours in our own city! Very fun. This tour was no exception. We had a very enjoyable afternoon, got to see a lot of different things, learn a bit about the history of Louisville, and try some delicious foods. The format of this tour is as such: the bus drops you off at a location for 30-60 minutes, giving you time to explore while City Taste runs off to pick up food from a local eatery. When you get back on the bus, there's a taste (and a drink) to be eaten as you drive on to the next stop. The benefit of this is that you get to experience AND taste bits of Louisville, instead of one or the other. The drawback is that there is sometimes a bit of waiting around for the bus to return. On our tour, we stopped at Schimpffs candy shop, Churchill Downs (where we took a tour), Old Louisville, Louisville Slugger OR NULU (we were given an option), and the Belle of Louisville. Our favorite stop was Old Louisville by far. What a BEAUTIFUL area with such rich history! The food we had was fried green tomatoes, hush puppies, hot brown pizza, pulled pork and potato salad, and Derby Pie. All were delicious, but the particular favorites were the hush puppies and the hot brown pizza. Alongside came a variety of drinks... we weren't huge fans of the flavored beers and wines (vanilla, strawberry, etc.) but we liked the bourbon tastings, the bourbon coffee, and the mint julep at the end. For reference, the food quantity was enough to keep us mostly satisfied but not amounting to a full meal replacement. I wouldn't eat a huge lunch before you go, but I also wouldn't show up hungry. City Taste Tours was extremely accommodating and gracious to our family. I realize these tours aren't geared toward kids specifically, but they went out of their way to make it enjoyable for everyone on board. If you're looking for a tour that's a bit of everything, a "taste" of all tours, this is the one for you. It's quirky, fun, and a great way to spend an afternoon in Louisville. **One last thing I'd mention: we booked a private tour, mostly because we just didn't want to take away from anyone else's experience by bringing 6 kids along. We were surprised to find out after being picked up that the bus was picking up other riders as well. It honestly worked out TOTALLY fine - it was a great couple that came along with us - but I just mention this to warn someone who actually cares a lot about it being a private tour... you might want to double check that they don't somehow overlook your private reservation and add extra people to your group.

Great professional staff and safety is their #1 priority. Located right in the city, just a short drive to get there. This is the most open cavern I have ever been in and you almost feel like you are in a dark warehouse, it's so big! No "tight" spaces of any kind. Heights might be your issue if that is a concern. If you have any climbing, repelling, spelunking, or exploring experience, this is a "walk in the park" for you. No experience is needed and they take care of everything. All you have to do is zip when you're told. Have fun! Shoutout to Bethany M., an excellent staff member.

Online booking mentions that it is a 2.5hr experience but with a smaller group of 8, it only took 1.5hr for all the zip lines. Overall a very fun experience and great with big groups! The Bad: Do not get the picture package!! The picture is taken at a standing platform after one of the zip lines, not an action shot!! The Ugly: It felt a little sketchy going down the barren hallway. It was a 5 min walk that felt like you were going through an industrial hallway and it just felt out of place to keep going if the signs were not there. On to my next adventure....
