Our tour guide was Carly and she was fabulous, too. The distillery doesn't make much alcohol anymore, but Weller is still made and sold at Buffalo Trace, I believe. We also enjoyed some drinks and charcuterie at the Garden and Gun Club upstairs after our tour, and the charcuterie was top notch - beautiful presentation, and great meats and cheeses and accoutrements. I would definitely come back here again and do a tour or just come for a drink or two.

We thought that meant that you'd be exploring and ziplining all through the cavern, but no. It's a ropes course, and the course is pretty small, and you're not really going into the cavern, which is a bummer. They do have a separate zipline tour, which is maybe more adventurous, but I wouldn't know because we didn't do that one. The ropes course is for ages 5 and older. Louisville Mega Cavern also offers a walking cavern tour and a tram tour, plus a drive-through Christmas lights display around the holidays. Be sure to book your activities in advance! This place is very popular and gets very busy. One thing to note is that outside food and drink are supposedly not allowed. (Oops, my bad. I didn't find that out until I had finished my tasty little tuna-and-crackers snack.) They also have lockers to put your things in if you don't have someone hanging back at the tables to hold your stuff.

Stories of rage, stories of murder, stories of weird curiosity. He's apparently about to publish his 13th book on hauntings and used to live in one of the homes that is most haunted in the area!! My favorite homes were on millionaire row. So many old stories, and the architecture was amazing. Bring your walking shoes and bug spray. Otherwise you will get bit...and your feet will hurt.
