Buffalo Trace Tour, Hand Picked and Booked by Bob

Your search for a Tour Guide for Kentucky, and Bourbon Trail are over. Book with Bob, and you won't be disappointed. He is very knowledgeable about everything Kentucky, and is like a celebrity in Kentucky ha. Everyone knows him so when you travel with him your rolling with a VIP. He books everything for you, all your reservations ect, so you just get to come and enjoy without the hassle.

My husband and I drove to Kentucky to spend our anniversary week touring distilleries. I connected with Bob White early in the planning process and he made our trip special. He asked lots of questions (What are your 'must see' places? What do you like to drink? Do you like history?). And he answered lots of my question (Where should we stay? What is there to eat? What else can we do other than sample bourbon?) As we got closer to the trip, we tweaked timing based on which locations were open and where they were in relationship to each other. Bob took a huge amount of my usual trip planning off my shoulders so we could relax and enjoy each experience without worrying about how to get to the next place. We had a daily itinerary that included our must-dos, along with some other experiences that we would have never known about. These quickly became some of our favorite stops. We got to fill and label our own bottle at one location, dip a bottle in the famous red wax at another and even got a laser-engraving on a bottle of my favorite bourbon. Bob knew somebody at each place we visited (including Churchill Downs) and was greeted as a friend at each stop. He even helped me hunt down a special request for my boss and got us a lunch reservation at a coveted location. When we visit again (and we will!) I will absolutely want him with us again!

Amazing experience. Bob knows his stuff. Very knowledgeable, friendly, punctual. Everything went so smooth. I kept reading reviews if you're not with Bob you're not doing it right. They were correct! I will recommend him to anyone who wants to do the bourbon trails!!! He took care of us! Thanks Bob!

We just had the time of our lives on the Kentucky Bourbon trail! What a beautiful state, great people and unexpected experiences! Somehow and someway we found Bob, of Kentucky Guides, and wow what a stroke of luck! Our first experience was the weeks leading up to our trip (6 of us) where Bob sent very detailed emails with MANY options for our group which had never been to KY. Not only did Bob state options but gave very detailed reasons to why he was suggesting each stop for our tour. Bob was great at "reading our minds" and created a personalized itinerary based upon all of our feedback and interests! Upon arrival we were in great hands and that continued every step of the way. Kentucky Guides (Bob) has so many deep connections surrounding the bourbon industry that everyday we had unique experiences that I believe we would not have had with the "normal" tour guides you could go with. Bob is a true Kentucky gentleman and had our best interests in mind the entire week. Bob is a true historian of Kentucky and the bourbon industry, how he can retain all he knows AND talk about it in such an easy way to understand and follow is amazing. By the end of our week we not only had fallen head over heels for Kentucky and the beauty of all we saw and experienced but also felt we had gained a real friend in Bob! Thanks!! Dellas

It was a trip from hell without food, restroom breaks or time to see the promised attractions. The entire trip was false advertising. Even after I contacted Karen Toby mid trip and she promised it would be fixed, it did not get better. Karen told me that the situations I described were not up to the Toby standard and she would fix it. Not only did Toby tours not fix it but they are now denying that all the problems happened. Guests were told not to use the bus bathrooms, diabetics were fed donuts for breakfast. Promised attractions were closing as they arrived. Toby Tours should do the right thing, take responsibility and refund the money. Karen Toby, you know these guests did not get the tour you advertised and promised. My parents have filed a complaint with the BBB. Blocking me on Facebook won't keep me from sharing their experiences on other social media.

The issue arises when Toby Tours decides to charge my cousin as a single person traveling now. (A up charge).... They kept my mothers money so her trip is still paid for even though she is not going and still up charged my cousin. There is a group of four ladies going on this trip that will likely never use Toby Tours again. I don't understand the loss of clients over a 300 dollar up charge when you kept all of my mothers money that was paid for trip. There is no need for the up charge as you kept the 800 paid by my mother, as if she is still traveling....Beware of this policy!!!!!!!!!!!

For future readers, you'll recall that the spring of 2021 was a crazy time, coming off all the COVID lockdowns. Many distillers, who hadn't been open for tours for many months, were finally opening their doors, and demand for tours and tastings far exceeded availability. Tommy apparently has a few connections, and was able to get us the Connoisseur's Tasting at Heaven Hill, and the full tour and tasting at Maker's Mark. The experience was great: The van was large and comfortable, and Tommy--locally raised--knows the area, it's history, and plenty about the distilleries. In addition to the planned stops, he also made an unscheduled stop at the tiny Limestone Branch Distillery so we could taste some craft cocktails and buy some souvenirs. Bottom line: If you love bourbon, and you're looking for a relaxing, enjoyable, and memorable afternoon in the heart of bourbon country, you will not go wrong with Tommy and CopperTop Tours.

The tracks, the history, the building itself and the stories about jockeys and horses are all fascinating. The day we went unfortunately the weather was not good. Lots merchandise for visitors to browse through. 2 horses in the barn when we visited. The museum itself is wonderful. Many historical information and artifacts. The Secretariat section is on the second floor. The fastest horse. And I learned that he had a bigger heart than any other horses. Might be a factor that he was fast! Absolutely a highlight of our trip in KY. It makes me actually want to come for the Kentucky Derby in May.

The general admission comes with a free tour of the Churchill Downs and the race track. We got to be in the grand stand and learn much incredible facts about derby from our tour guide. One of the coolest things to learn was from what position horses won the races the most to least. The gift shop a lot of amazing merchandises, apparels, souvenirs and gift items.
