Love Ernesto! After moving close by I always noticed how busy and bustling Cetana Salon was. I looked in to pictures not expecting anything impressive (for some reason I don't think great cut/color when I think of Aveda) but was surprised by the caliber of the cuts, color and overall aesthetic of the stylists. Based off all the glowing reviews I scheduled an appointment with Ernesto and he did not disappoint! He was very professional, knew exactly what I wanted, asked all the right questions and was just great overall. Not only is he one of the salon's master stylists but he's also ridiculously fashionable and has a great look himself and although I'm frankly pretty vanilla, I felt like he totally got what I wanted and like. Even though I have a pretty basic long layer cut, I am really finicky about where my hair lays, how the ends look and where the pieces are that frame my face but Ernesto pretty much pre-empted all those pain points by anticipating my preferences early on. Additionally, I love the vibe of the place. Not only is everyone a really cool, nice person but you can tell they all love working together too. It's refreshing to be around that kind of positivity and support. Also, there's wine. Did I ever mention how much I love wine? Yes. 5 stars for that alone. But really 5 stars for Ernesto! PS. Ask him about his bats! :) read more

Ernesto Meneses - Wedding Hair - Hair Stylists Near Me - San Francisco, California

Oh, Ernie the Hair Guru! This review is long overdue. I've been his client for almost two years and I just can't stop raving about him! My hair is really fine and it was always such a pain to take care of it. My head was one big riot. You need a perfect hairstyle when you have fine hair like me. And then I met Ernie who found the perfect hairstyle for me. I no longer dread my hair appointments, I look forward to them. He does such a great job cutting and styling my hair and he's managed to keep it longer than ever before - I love it! He's awesome when recommending the right color; I let him do whatever he thinks will work because I know I won't be disappointed. Ernie will also touch up my make-up - again he does an amazing job making my eyes pop and when I walk out of the salon, I feel like a star. Last month I decided to do a photo shoot and asked Ernie if he could do my make up. It was a short notice but he happily agreed and came to work earlier on a Sunday morning!!! He's so dedicated to his clients! The photographer couldn't stop complimenting my make up and the pictures came out gorgeous. Ernie is a true artist! He's very talented and really passionate about his work. Sometimes when he does my hair I like to watch his face - he's so beautifully "lost" in his world of cutting and styling.... completely into what he's doing. Not to mention his sweet personality and a great sense of humor. A-mazing!!! read more

Ernie is AMAZING! If you want a real artist to cut your hair, he is your man! He is Aveda trained, and had taught some of the Bay Area's best stylists. If you want to see the teacher, and not the student... He is it! read more

Ernesto Meneses - Hair Stylists Near Me - San Francisco, California

When I lived in SF I had Ernie work on my hair 3 times... then he disappered from Cintas and I have had my ups and downs with hair. Then i moved to Costa Mesa (Southern California) and I have had more downs then ups with my hair... it's longer , colored from Manic Panic cause I don't want to pay a ton for someone that I don't know I can trust with their artistic vision like I could with Ernie. With Ernie I always said " Do what you think would look edgy and fantastic (sometimes unique) and I would let him run with it. I knew I was in safe hands. So here I am in Costa Mesa thinking how much I want to get my hair cut by Ernie. No one else... Now I realize that Hair and the perfect hair stylist is hard to come by and Im not quite ready to end this relationship (even if I am 300 some miles away). So I yelped his ass until I found this site. Thank goodness for YELP. Now I have the perfect excuse to go back to SF for the weekend, get an AMAZING hair cut and eat at all the places I miss so much. Maybe my new hair style will convince my BF we should move back to SF (fingers crossed). read more

Ernesto continues to grow and adapt his skill set and aesthetics while maintaining an intuitive eye for tailoring looks to each client's unique style. Over the years and many new homes/geos/stylists over the years, I still fly back to him for a cut and/or shaping that's 100% in tune with my vibe at that moment. Also, he cuts for my personal grooming habits -- low effort, all effect. He maintains the integrity of your natural hair texture. read more

What can I "not" say about Ernesto? He is a hair genius! As a loyal client of Ernesto's, I live in Los Angeles and I have been flying to San Francisco for his hair cuts for years. In fact, I have followed him through 3 Salons: Cinta, Chakra now known as "Stages," and now Centana. Everything he does is absolutely perfect. I have very long, thick wavy hair and I'm pretty neurotic about it. Anyhow, I've had more bad experiences with hair stylists than good ones because either they don't listen and they give me something I don't want, or their skills are mediocre at best. Ernesto is very charming, his consults are thorough, and he matches your needs with his expertise. The result is, his technique is flawless. I always leave his chair feeling like I stepped out of a magazine! Totally worth the time, long trip, and money. A true artist indeed! read more

Ernesto is amazing! I've been going to him for years. The only reason I haven't written a review before now is that words can't adequately express how AWESOME and TALENTED he is! There's a reason myself and others stalk him from salon to salon ;). Before I found him, I bounced from stylist to stylist, happy but never fully satisfied with the end result. But with Ernesto, I leave the salon LOVING my hair EVERY time. In addition to being super sweet and funny, he goes out of his way to squeeze you in when he can, even skipping lunch to fit in another client. But he NEVER rushes through an appointment. He takes his time getting everything just right. You can tell that he loves what he does, and as with most people doing what they are passionate about, they elevate their work to an art. Stop reading these reviews and just make an appointment already! :) You won't be sorry. And hurry because he books up fast! read more

Ernesto always cuts my hair the way I want it, and the way I like it. He is a great listener, very professional. He is amazing in his style and he has a knack for what looks great! read more

Ernie has been my stylist for the last seven and a half years. I'm very particular when it comes to my hair and Ernie is simply the best! Until I found Ernie I was bouncing from stylist to stylist and never quite happy with my hair. I first started with Ernie when he was working at a salon in Beverly Hills in 2004 and have followed him to other salons over the years. When I lived out of the country and was travelling all the time, I would wait until I got back to California so that Ernie could cut my hair. If I were rich I would have flew him around the world to me! Even though I'm in So Cal, I will still come up to SF to get my hair cut with Ernie. Ernie is pure genius and talent when it comes to hair. He works with me to come up with the style and look I want, If he thinks something isn't going to work will be up front and tell me so - and then he will make a suggestion that he thinks will look better (and he is always right). Ernie is an artist, so many times I will describe the style I want or show him photos and he will take care of the rest - and the results are always beautiful. I trust his judgment 100%! I have had many different cuts and styles over the years - textured, razor cut, fringe, quiff, etc. - and he is always up to date with the newest hairstyles, trends, and products. And most importantly, every single haircut I have ever had with Ernie has been awesome! read more

He will take it to the next level and leave you with a result you can feel confident and excited about! Dam uuuu Ernesto! read more

Ernesto has turned me into a glossy, sleek, expensive looking goddess. He is a genius of hair and makeup! Not only does he have an incredible skill in cutting and styling difficult hair but his eye for color is amazing. He has taken my hair into shades that never occurred to me but that I completely adore - he crafts my hair to perfectly enhance my skin and eye color. And, the genius of it is that everyone thinks that this is my natural color, and that is no small feat. I feel so well cared for and pampered by Ernie, I leave the salon with gorgeous hair and makeup touched up to perfection. He is extremely professional and yet so warm and super fun. I have recommended him to many of my friends and coworkers and they too look amazing. read more

Ernesto is AMAZING! I always get great cuts from him. Not only is he talented at cutting hair he really makes you feel comfortable while getting your hair cut. He is really great at shaping your hair and figuring out what looks best for your face shape and how to apply that to your desired style. I like my hair with a fade on the side and longer on the top. He is able to always give me the look i want even with the difficulties of cutting my hair texture, which is curly. OH and he is the best at trims and maintaining your cut. Whenever my hair needs a trim cause the ends have been worn out cause of blow dryers and flat irons, he is able to trim it so that the ends are new and cut, but still maintain the length of hair I love. PERFECT! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! read more

I am a recent convert to Ernesto. He really has it going on. This stylist-artist is "all in" to the work! I came in with problematic bangs which may sound trivial but you know, when the front of your hair works--it's really helpful! He is professional, creative, listens carefully to what the customer is asking him to do, and then gets the job done with precision. He is highly skilled. I'd recommend him for any and all hair needs. read more

I love love love Ernesto!! He knows what he's doing and you leave feeling gorgeous! My ny stylist has nothing on Ernie- my hair guru!!

Ernesto Meneses is amazing! I went for a blow-out and he is so so patient and took time to consult me on how I wanted my hair styled. He also blowed it out exactly the way I wanted. I recently had a haircut from another stylist that wasn't what I wanted and Ernesto gave me some really good ideas about how to grow out and cut my hair into way that suits my personality and style. read more
