My regard for them just went to another level today: I bought 4 new snowtires with wheels at Costco. While booking an appointment to get them mounted onto the car (Honda Civic), I noticed that all 4 wheels had bolt-locks. And I had no key (purchased car used). Good thing we never had a flat. At Costco, all they could say is "you're screwed .... check with the dealer". Hopped over to Volvo (where we bought the car), and they said "you're screwed ... try Honda and with luck, they're factory locks". Drove back up the hill with tires in the back, and stopped at Apel to see if they might have a master key to the locks. They have an angle grinder and a "can do" attitude. Left the car/tires with Apel at 4pm. Came back from Sushi tonight at 6:30pm, and the car is sitting in the Apel parking lot with 4 new snow tires mounted. I think they probably changed the oil while they were at it...

I was busy with my business for a several months so we drove on the bad alignment and cupped (i.e., completely killed) my tires, so I'll replace them soon before the year is out. Why the back story? Because unlike my (failed) experience a few months earlier... this time I was smarter in my selection process. I selected Tyner based on their positive online reviews and their high quality 3D (camera-based) alignment equipment. I was able to stand and watch the alignment procedure from the shop door. The alignment was done properly, step by step as I watched. Our vehicle now drives straight, the steering wheel is perfectly centered, and I respected the suggestion for new tires at the end (which I knew ahead of time) but not feeling any pressure asserted to purchase them from the shop. The price of the alignment was also market value (not overpriced) so I feel I got the value that I was looking for; a simple job done properly.

I had our Colorado pick up in at the dealership we bought it from - used. They said we needed a…read morefew things -front brakes, transmission pan gasket was leaking and low on coolant. Price was more than I thought and was I right! I had taken a previous vehicle to Top Shaw when they were in Port Moody so I took it in to see my friend Nic and Shawn and saved a lot of money. The transmission pan gasket fix was less than half price and they included everything including new fluid, gasket and the filter. He worked hard on the brakes (Izuzu designed not a regular brake job) and he said he couldn't charge me for all the extra time it took to free it up and still came in less than the dealership quote. I am very happy I looked them up and they got me in the next day too! Thanks again guys - I will be recommending you for sure!
