Iwas seen immediately, the phlebotonist started the IV with one stick, the doctor listened to me and spent time to make sure I understood my treatment options and everything that was going on.

Very impressive facility all around! I received the bad news…read morethat I needed major surgery from my Dr., and the sooner the better. Parkridge worked with my Dr's office to rearrange some scheduling to get me in the following week. That day, I was immediately sent to pre-op screening. What a great bunch of friendly ladies in this department! They got me pre registered, all pre op bloodwork done, EKG, and all paperwork & insurance done in less than an hour! They were all kind and compassionate. The day of procedure I arrived two hours before surgery to prepare. I was very nervous, but everyone was calm and explained everything in detail to keep me at ease. Of course my Dr was great, but the nursing staff was phenomenal!! Seriously, I'm blown away at how professional, kind and compassionate the staff is at Parkridge! They made a scary and overwhelming procedure bearable and I felt pampered the four days I spent there. I also want to touch on the fact that this is a very clean hospital. The food wasn't bad either, with a pretty diverse menu to choose from. I'm very glad my Dr suggested this hospital and I highly recommend it if you have a choice in the chattanooga area.

Currently they are under several investigations and lawsuits because of their fraud and continuously putting profits over patients. For example, a pathologist at ParkRidge Medical Center, who is still employed there, was committing MEDICAL FRAUD AND NEGLIGENCE by not looking at his GI biopsies FOR YEARS! Conservatively over 1000 patients were affected. Did HCA ever notify one patient??? NOPE! They installed new locks and cameras where the slides and paraffin blocks are stored and that was the end of that. If anyone doesn't believe this story is 100% true, ask anyone who worked in the lab at ParkRidge Medical Center from August 2022-December 2022. It happened and exemplifies how much HCA is concerned with patient care.

My daughter was admitted for pneumonia and rsv. She was sent to Children's Hospital at Erlanger. By…read moreday 2 we were told our daughter's weight was a problem. Some back ground info my daughter was tube fed from the time she was 2 till about two years ago. During this period of time most feedings and there were 3 a day ended in vomiting. We tried many brands and they had same ending. She had a gj tube which was supposed to bypass the stomach meaning no vomiting but that didn't work either. The day she finally gave food a chance which took years cause she was afraid she'd throw up she finally kept something down. From that point on we stopped using the tube and she ate all by mouth. Hasn't thrown up since. Weight gain is slow and it doesn't help that she had 3 back to back growth sperts which left her weight in the dust. Despite eating 3 meals a day she doesn't gain fast. I had same issue as a kid. I could eat all day and gain nothing. When I was her age I was maybe 70lbs. I didn't get to 90 till high school. And yet 90 is what she said she should weigh. Also my daughter has no muscle mass to speak of because of her physical issues and muscle carries more weight then fat so honestly she weighs what she should given that fact according to her physical therapist. Any way. While at the hospital the doctor pushed the weight issue and barely spoke about what she was there for. By day 3 I told her I'd take her to whatever follow up I needed to but she needed to be sent home. Katie had become depressed. Was refusing to eat the hospital food. She was hardly able to sleep cause people came in and out through the night. Her sheets on that bed had never been changed the entire time she was there and she was never bathed not even a sponge bath. I wanted my kid outta there as fast as possible so that she could get sleep and a bath and a clean environment. Not to mention she likes my food so I knew she'd eat better. I told the doctor that I was willing to follow her instructions and to give her bigger portions and extra snacks and things of that nature to try to build up her weight, but you can't force feed a teenager when they feel full than they're full, but I will give every opportunity for her to eat or drink more. At that point she told me she had made an appointment for me for the nutritionist and a pediatrician and told me that my discharge papers were on the way I get home and 30 minutes later. I get a phone call from DCS saying that they got a referral about my daughter and that they need to Come and talk. and I guarantee it was the doctor that did it. Just unbelievable. You try to do what's right by your kid and then you get a slap in the face from somebody that doesn't even know you and thinks of your daughter as a dot on a chart. I took daughter to her pediatrician follow up couple days later. They agreed with me and physical therapist. They see nothing wrong. I wouldn't take your child to this woman or this facility. Horrible lady. Horrible hospital."

Just wanted to state this before I start, this is not about the treatment of patients…read more This evening I am sitting in the ER of Children's Hospital. The seat I was sitting next to when we first got here was covered in glass. I don't know how long this glass had been there, or why it was there. I just know it wasp hazard to the bad ass little kids running around the place. When I approached the receptionist to inform her, she acted like I was just too much for her to deal with. I asked an RN that was walking by what could be done. He looked confused, said indont know and walked away. Maybe I'm not as wise as these folks, but I feel like broken glass and children wouldn't mix well. But who am I to say, I'm no expert safety officer or anything. Update- A janitor came by after an hour or so and cleaned it up. Not because he was notified by the staff, but because I pointed it out to him.
