Dr. Erin is great! She provided excellent communication to me regarding my son's treatment plan. She made the visit a breeze.

The front desk staff was not friendly when my 1 and a half year old daughter tried to say hi and talk to them. They ignored her completely. Then the exam was rushed and I felt we were brushed off. We went 2 or 3 times, and all visits were not friendly or welcoming. My husband went once and I took my daughter the other two times - and we all had the same experiences. At her last visit (when she was 2), the exam was so quick I felt like it took longer to get called back than be seen. Dr. Shirley does not seem to like kids or people. She did not interact with me or my daughter, and spoke to her assistant as if we were not there. About a month after her visit when she was 2 years old, I noticed that her two front teeth were chipped. I was not happy with Harmony Pediatric/Dr. Shirley, so I found another dentist and got an appointment about 3 months after her 2 year appointment. My daughter had 4 cavities! Dr. Shirley did not find these cavities when she had seen my child 3 months earlier. The chips in my daughter's two front teeth were the result of the cavities weakening her teeth and they broke. Dr. Shirley had JUST seen my daughter and never mentioned any cavities. I would absolutely NOT recommend Dr. Shirley. She does not like kids, or people, and has no time for anyone. She missed FOUR cavities in my 2 year old. The front desk staff at Harmony Pediatric do not like kids either, and seem to be miserable. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Stay away.

They don't acknowledge the kids, get annoyed when they don't do exactly what they ask immediately and are annoyed when you ask questions. The best luck I've had was with Doctor Patel. He wasn't rude and worked with me to come up with ideas on how to help my kids with their teeth. I've met nicer hygienists at crappy clinics though.

While we've had positive experiences with Dr. Park in the past, in our most recent visit he was in an agitated state almost immediately. He was highly frustrated with my child, who was scared, and did not offer the reassurances I would have expected from a pediatric dentist. Instead, his behavior escalated what was otherwise a manageable level of discomfort. When pressed about his failure to deescalate, he became further agitated, and began arguing with me directly. It was all very unexpected and caused us a significant level of anxiety. Kudos to his staff, who helped us to leave quickly and with the paperwork we needed to seek care elsewhere. Of Dr. Park, I will say, make sure you catch him on a good day otherwise you may need to help regulate not just your child's emotions but also their dentist's.

Also, unfortunately, you form your teeth at ~4 mos old, which is when she had very high bilirubin. It resulted in stained and brittle teeth. Because of her medical history, we made the trek to OHSU for dental care in the past. Until we decided to look closer to home. Honestly, the team is awesome and we have full confidence in their care. They speak with my daughter's transplant team to ensure we're on the same page. Unfortunately, despite excess dental care, she has already needed fillings and an adult molar extraction, but she does phenomenally well with Doug's care. She would scream so much at OHSU that she'd work herself up until she puked. It was a nightmare. Not one peep while she's at this office! The decor/theme in the office is also awesome. It probably makes it easier for kids to want to come here.

My youngest son has had the most work done and on one occasion we had to schedule a same day appointment to deal with an abscess that cropped up over night. We called at 7am and they made space for him same day. He had x-rays and the offending tooth pulled (to make way for adult tooth) and we were out of the office a half hour after we checked in. I wouldn't count on that short of turnaround but they did the job efficiently and got us out the door. We have most frequently had Dr.Lee but Dr.Ji handled this appointment and we were equally satisfied. They explain the procedures to the patient and the parent in strait forward and honest terms "this will prick a bit but the pain will only last for about 3 seconds", both myself and my kids appreciate the honesty. We love Gresham Pediatric Dentistry as much as anyone could love going to the dentist. And as an aside, Dr.Frick retired at least a couple of years ago and he was indeed old school. He was also a great dentist who donated a lot of time to help folks that couldn't afford dental care and treated all his patients/parents with respect and compassion.
