One of my favorites to stop by! Love the artwork and the easy conversation. Love that I can come in and talk to the actual winemaker and get a mini lesson on what's going on in the wine world. I pick up a few bottles every time I stop by! Check out the struttin wines- great for a party or a little fire time. My New Years raclette party will be amazing this year thanks to them!

Stumbled upon this little gem on our way to another winery. We were greeted and served by Eric himself. It took a few minutes but he eventually warmed up to us. He was very pleasant very knowledgeable, and very humble bin fact, I had no idea he was the owner until I asked him. He's a Navy veteran and superb guy. Very small scale winery and I would love for everyone to check him out. We went on a weekday so not super busy. I would definitely recommend to stop by. He's also a former photographer and you can see his work around his place. It was great to get to know him and his wine.

I think of Eric Ross as the Cheers of tasting rooms; Dennis and Diane always know our name and I've never met a person I didn't like among my fellow tasters. Oh and the wines are good too! You'll be surprised by the number and variety of bottles open for tasting. Given the variety, you are sure to find something you like. My personal favorites are the Albarino and the Tempranillo. They also feature a late harvest port that is great, and this is coming from a self proclaimed port hater! This is a really tough review for me to write. Honestly, I found the wines to be either boring or way too intense. There was something just not right or unbalanced about every one of them. I just didn't like the wine. But the staff was FANTASTIC and really helpful. "This is why you came to wine country... to try new things. You don't have to like *everything* you try!" is what they said. And then they went on to tell us about other great places (including wineries) that we should try during our visit. So... five stars for the fabulous and friendly staff. One star for the wine I didn't like. But since everyone's taste is different... it's definitely worth a stop. Maybe I just have really poor taste in wine!

Came in with my Sommelier friend and went to Eric Ross, Eric is here and poured for us. What a sweet and informative man. Lots of choices to taste and I personally loved the Zinfandel. Fun day!

Just starting to prepare dinner...opened this Eric Ross Rosé to sip while I cook. It is quite nice!

Our server, Patrick, was personable, knowledgeable, and truly went above and beyond. He gave us a great understanding of the history of the family winery as well as the nuances of the various wines. He never made us feel rushed, and we enjoyed sitting outside, taking in the beautiful views--and watching the tractor tours pass by--while we tasted. Patrick even shared side-by-side trios of Chardonnays and Cabernet Sauvignons to highlight differences in winemaking methods, vineyard sites, and soils, which made for a particularly interesting and educational tasting experience. In fact, it was every bit as informative and enjoyable as other tasting experiences we've had that were far more expensive, more formal, and required advance reservations.    The tasting room also features a wonderful selection of gifts and specialty items. By the end of our visit, we left with three bottles of wine (2025 Frank Johnson Sauv Blanc and two 2022 Three Blocks Cab Sauvs) along with several gifts and mementos. Benziger has a welcoming, family-friendly atmosphere and is both kid and pet-friendly. We also stopped by their sister winery, Imagery, afterward and found it to be another Sonoma gem. We wouldn't hesitate to return to either.

Both locations are walking distance from each other, and easy to stop in without reservations for a tasting or even if you just want a glass. We first stopped at Wolves Lovers + Thieves for their tasting of 4 sparking wines. Each sparking is produced from different methods: pétillant-natural, Champagne method, and Charmat method. There were a variety of grapes too, one of which I had not had before, the chardonnay musqué, which they offer in a still version at Wine Snob*!
