The husband and wife duo, Ryan and Lindsey, are incredible, welcoming hosts, winemakers, servers, you name it.. offering some delicious wines along the way. Both locations are walking distance from each other, and easy to stop in without reservations for a tasting or even if you just want a glass. We first stopped at Wolves Lovers + Thieves for their tasting of 4 sparking wines. Each sparking is produced from different methods: pétillant-natural, Champagne method, and Charmat method. There were a variety of grapes too, one of which I had not had before, the chardonnay musqué, which they offer in a still version at Wine Snob*! Ryan and Lindsey are so knowledgeable and were happy to share their love for wine with us. I wouldn't necessarily call myself a wine snob, but I know what I like and these two tasting rooms are the places to be! read more

Hands down, BEST Winery EVER!! The proprietor, Ryan is the perfect host! I fell in love with his fascinating explanations and side stories. He is the opposite of snobby. Went out of curiosity, stayed for the WINE. We usually buy a customary bottle as a courtesy. Husband bought 9 bottles Wine is so CLEAN (by way of complicated chemistry) and so low in sulphates, that I didn't get my usual hot flashes, nor did hubby get his usual wine headache. This is a comfortable location to taste good wines with interesting stories, with the bonus of having a relatively low tasting fee and fair pours. We didn't feel rushed and enjoyed the music and the ambiance. The owner was the one who served us, and he was personable and rightly confident enough in his wines that he didn't hover while we tasted. I recommend the truffle and dessert wine taste--the chocolate is made locally, and we enjoyed it so much that we visited the shop. One thing I particularly enjoy about Glen Ellen (population under 1000) in general is the support local businesses give each other. We wanted to try out a new spot for some wine tasting close to where we were planning to walk our dogs. So, I searched for dog friendly wine spots near me and BOOM... Wine Snob! The 4 of us (2 humans and 2 fur buds) were greeted by Ryan and welcomed in to taste their delicious wines. We had such a great time learning about their wines and all the background involved in the winemaking process. What a great find! Lindsey and Ryan are such sweet individuals! Wine Snob has been a partner of my company for a few years and I am always joyed when communicating with these two. My husband and I recently purchased their champagne for our wedding and they were genuinely interested in our day and happy to be providing some bubbly for our toasts! Their wine is delicious and unique, including the labels on the bottle. I would call Wine Snob a "mom and pop" winery with the elegance of one of the larger vineyards. Wine Snob* is a great little winery and Glen Ellen is a great little town to visit. We're lucky to live in Sonoma County, so we've had the chance to do A LOT of wine tastings. A LOT :) This was a total shot-in-the-dark choice for us. Weren't sure what to think of the label, but the reviews were good, and sometimes (like this time) you find a real gem like this. I'm going to write mostly about my own experience of the wine, because others have captured the tasting room and experience (both excellent) very well. We did a Sunday afternoon tasting for four people. Two of our group have 'great palates' and can taste subtle flavors and nuances. The other two of us (points at self) aren't very refined -- we mostly just know what we like when we taste it! All four of us agreed: Every wine we tried here was really nice. The Chardonnay Musque is unusual in a good way, for those of us who want to taste the grape not the barrel. (Thank you, Wine Snob.) Rose and Sauv Blanc are nice too, not sweet and not super fruit-forward, very balanced, nice to simply sip but also will stand up to food. But the biggest hit might have been the (T)rebelrouser, a red blend, not the usual Cab-based type that's so common but instead Merlot, Zin and Syrah. Anyway, this family team makes excellent affordable wine, and every choice has a little bit of its own character or point-of-view. It's not a generic line of predictable varietals and tastes. Great welcoming place! We were passing through on a road trip, and wanted to find a laid back place to sample wine in wine country. We were so thankful to discover this little gem. Lindsay and Ryan were super informative and gave great backstories about each wine. They've put a lot of thought and care into not only the wine, but also the decor. Loved this little gem! Me, my husband, son and my son's girlfriend were vacationing in July. We took in the sights and saw this cute gem. I wanted to do some wine tasting before heading home. This place did not disappoint! I felt like royalty. The owner personally served us and told us a story about each wine . We were not rushed and he took the time to check on us. We had great conversations and left with a couple of bottles of wine. There's also some souvenirs and jewelry you can purchase too. I also bought some earrings and a couple of wine snob stickers. My friend and I went to the Wine Snob grand opening in Glen Ellen today and what a treat! Owned and operated by young couple, Lindsey and Ryan, who made us most welcome. We picked the patio option for our oh so tasty glasses of wine. Yes! You can have a leisurely glass of wine or a wine tasting! It is rare these days to find a winery that allows the former. The site has a cool industrial vibe but warmed with great light, plants, and art work. And there is parking! And today pop-up Psychic Pig was available with delicious focaccia based sandwiches, yum. Hope they have return engagements. The wines are the result of local grapes and while selection is limited, they are all very approachable. We favored the red, and went away with the Tempernillo and a tasty rich, fruity red I forget the name of, and oh, loved the Pinot Noir, also! And did I mention it is affordable? You have to treat yourself to a visit. Well done! read more

A while back I received a gift bottle of Wine Snob * Temperanillo and liked it so much I ordered more plus their Treblerouser to be shipped to Minnesota. On a recent winter break trip to the Sonoma Valley, we had a chance to visit the new WineSnob* tasting room in Glen Ellen. What a pleasure! We were with friends and enjoyed the chocolate truffle pairing, sooo good. Host/owners Lindsey and Ryan did a great job with the presentations, they are personable and professional. I highly recommend their P5 red blend, excellent. I predict it becomes Wine Snob * flag ship wine.
