The wines were fantastic, the atmosphere was beautiful and relaxed, but what really made the visit unforgettable was our server, Evan. Evan was beyond great -- incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, and genuinely fun to spend time with. He walked us through each wine with the perfect balance of expertise and personality, making everything feel approachable while still giving us deep insight into the vineyard, the winemaking, and the stories behind the bottles. He read our group perfectly, kept the energy light and enjoyable, and made sure we had an amazing time from start to finish. It's rare to have a tasting host who can elevate the entire experience, but Evan did exactly that. We came to B Wise because of the 2 for 1 tasting offer for those with the Priority Wine Pass! Tastings are usually $25/person here. We went to the tasting room in Kenwood which is in a great location right next to VJB where many people grab a bite to eat. There are some amazing wineries and vineyards in this area. The interior design of this tasting room is beautiful and well decorated, we sat on a bright blue L-shaped velvet couch to enjoy our wines. The host we had guiding us through our flight was so sweet, bubbly, and clearly has a passion for B Wise and wine in general. She helped us have a lovely experience! The wines were not our favorites out of the wineries we visited this day, but we still had a great time trying out a new winery in this area and learning all about B Wise! read more

This is predominantly a Cabernet house, and they make some lovely medium to full-body Pinot Noirs, and a couple of Syrahs. We did a couple of tastings up at the Estate during Covid so it was outdoors; absolutely stunning views and a beautiful experience. I ended up joining as a member. Pre and now post covid, tastings are in the cave, which is so beautifully done. Their tasting room in Kenwood is also really beautiful and the tasting experience there quite lovely, ; the star, of coarse, being their wine. I highly highly recommend a visit here. read more

Few vineyards are located in as beautiful a setting as B. Wise. Our first time and we fell in love with it. Our host wine specialist was Jeremy, and he did an excellent job, in the most elegant, eclectic and artistic tasting room. Truly loved this winery. From their cow style couches, to the one on one attention from Jackie, this place knows how to do it just right. A small winery but the one on one attention you get, the explanation of the wines, it truly makes a difference when you step in. The cave tasting at B Wise is a definite must-do...once. We made our trip to B Wise in August 2018 and had a great time. The winery has some amazing views, but the tasting in the caves is something that was very unique and worthwhile. Additionally, the wines were very good. The $65 tasting fee would be waived with a six bottle purchase. That's a little steep. However, the fee is definitely worth the quality of wine and the cave experience. We happily paid the fee and went our way. I will say that I doubt I will re-visit B Wise. While the experience was great, I feel that it's a one-time see. Maybe we would come back after a few years go by - or if we bring guests that are interested in doing a cave tasting. Our 2018 CA trip consisted of the following wineries: Hamel, Iron Horse, B. Love Love Love this wine! During a wine bus tour with my closest 25 friends, me and a few other wine die hards wanted to get away from the group and VJB. So we stumbled (not drunkenly) to their tasting room and boy was I impressed. Their Cabs are AMAZING and the staff was even MORE AMAZING! I bought a bottle of the TRIOS, but I really wanted a bottle of the Coombsville Cab, but funds were a little light after stopping at 3 other wineries that day. 6 months later...... and still dreaming of that Coombsville Cab, I organize a small trip back to that lounge and yes....Coombsville Cab was just as good as I remember. To make it even better the young lady host remembered me and introduced me to my new love......the BRION!! Yet again I walked with another bottle of the TRIOS, but damn...I can't wait to go back! read more

Went to the highway tasting room to try a few wines. I had never been wine tasting before, and Kurt was THE BEST host out of the seven tasting rooms/vineyards I visited while in the Napa/Sonoma area. He is knowledgeable and can answer any question, even weird esoteric stuff like "Can wine be grown inside?" He is the opposite of condescending, and seems to genuinely want other people to learn about and love wine. Wine was good, too. read more

This was our second visit to B Wise in the town of Kenwood. We first learned of the Brion and B Wise wines from John F'n Caldwell. We like the style of the wine and think it is some of the best found in Sonoma. The tasting lounge is found in Kenwood on the Sonoma Highway. It is a funky little storefront with a bar, tables, chairs and a couch that resembles something from the Ponderosa. Our host was Sunshine. She treated us to 8-9 different wines, cheeses, crackers, nuts and cold water. We enjoyed every wine we tried. The B Wise label was tasty and the Brion very elegant. The wines are priced right based on quality. The winemaker was formerly at Silver Oak and knows his craft. They have wine caves at the winery but we have yet to visit there. Outstanding wine, comfortable environment and friendly staff, this sums up our visit to B Wise in Sonoma. read more

Brief visit with friends who all enjoyed their time. Beautiful space! 4 stars on behalf of reports of the group I was with. Leaving this review in case anyone wonders if this is a kid friendly environment. It is not. I don't expect wine tasting rooms to bend over backwards to accommodate families. Just a tale for future parent visitors: I had my baby son along with me who reached naptime and was not in great spirits so we left when he hit tipping point. On arrival though, I asked if there was a changing table in restroom and was told, "unfortunately not. We're not really set up for kids. There's a chair in there though." I changed my son on the bathroom floor. Made me very sad. Tried changing him on the concrete outside first in the rain (yep, my the back of my jeans got soaked) but it was too wet. Beautiful space! However, not accommodating of children. Hope to return perhaps one day when I'm not tending to my kiddo, but will probably be marked by the memory of changing my son on the floor of a bathroom/the accompanying sadness. read more

If you are in the area, do NOT miss this amazing 100 acre property! As soon as you enter the first gate it's like entering into a blissful, wine sanctuary. This was my first trip to Sonoma so I wasn't really sure what to expect but this place set the bar extremely high. We arrived via the Platypus tour we were on and it way by far the BEST stop on the tour; I didn't want to leave. We had a private tasting set in their cave and it was glorious. It's huge and grand and when you walk in you are overwhelmed in such an awesome way. I am not sure the pictures do this place justice. There are couches, leather seats, some bed alcoves, a kitchen area, gorgeous bathroom and a long dining table. This was a man-made cave and there are gorgeous areas where real rock is exposed on the wall, really a gorgeous structure. Ann was our guide and she was lovely. She really brought out the personality behind the wines and vineyard. I asked if I could move in and join the family but they just kind of starred at me so I don't think I should truck the dogs out this way just yet. B Wise and their neighbors at Monte Rosso Vineyard are reportedly two of the only sites in Sonoma Valley truly suitable for growing and ripening exceptional Cabernet and red Bordeaux varieties. They are known for their small batches as well so their prices are higher but for good reason. Brion Wise is the founder and he lives on the stunning property. Everything is self sufficient and he grows his own veggies and fruit and even has his own bees to make honey along with chickens. Really, they have everything. His house is gorgeous and overlooking the vineyard. The front area is lush and inviting, we took over a picnic table for lunch and I could have just laid in the grass to take in the surroundings all day. The flowers around the area are gorgeous as well, it really is an oasis. The wines, wow! I am not a wine connoisseur by any means and I usually go for white over red but the reds here, just delicious. Everything was opened freshly that day and we has some light snacks to pair with them. I purchased some bottles and I believe my favorites were B WISE Syrah Sonoma Valley Estate 2009 and the B WISE Cabernet Sauvignon Sonoma Valley Estate 2009. The colors are brilliant and the flavors changed with each piece of food you paired it with or how long you let it air, of course. Overall this was my absolute favorite cave and private tasting. Allison Stuart was just opening the tasting room for its first week of operation when we arrived. None of the bottles for tasting were open and it took some time to get the wines to open up their flavors. The 2007 Trios Proprietary Red Blend is very drinkable and complex. @ $30 it was priced about where it stretched the upper limits of value. The 2009 Wisdom @ $24 is a rock solid deal with much of the historical characteristics one is seeking of a good Sonoma wine. If you are looking to give a bottle of great wine to a woman who likes reds, this is your choice. 2008 B WISE Syrah - Sonoma Valley @ $37.00 had a good nose and a great palate. We bought a bottle. 2008 B WISE Monte Rosso Cabernet - Monte Rosso @ $50.00 appeared to be high priced until tasted. OMG. A truly great wine. Huge nose, big, fruit forward velvet on the palate and a finish that nevers completes the finish as it goes on and on. Whew. We bought a bottle. Definitely want more. Alison is to be commended for her attention to the customer in explaining the wines and making sure that she listens to the feedback during the tasting process. She is a great representative of the company. Congrats to Brion Wise and his winemaker, Massimo Monticelli, who have created great wines. Out of 30 wineries we visited in a week in the Alexander and Sonoma Valleys, B Wise was the top class with the largest line-up of really great wines. This is a MUST stop. The good news is that it is 100 feet away from VJB Vineyards Tasting Room. We strongly recommend B Wise. read more

We loved the 2012 Wisdom, a blend of Cab Sav, Zin, Syrah and Merlot - very tasty and inexpensive. The B Wise Cab was also a delight. This is a small, darling tasting room right on Hwy 12. There are several wineries in the area so easy to hit several in a short period of time. Worth a stop for sure! read more

Everything about me and my girlfriends first time at B.Wise was perfect. We were GREETED by the owner Brion upon arrival by accident which was such a unique experience. Petting dogs and looking up to a welcoming, "Hi I'm Brion!" Not even knowing he was the owner. Very down to earth which we loved. After Josh welcomed us with a glass of wine and showed us the historic grounds. Seeing that, along with the storing caves was breathtaking. After we had a fantastic wine tasting paired with meats and cheeses and were blown away by the Pinot Noir and CabSav. Went with my mother to a tasting this weekend and had the very best time. Be sure to ask for Kurt - he was our main tour guide. He showed us the property and was extremely knowledgeable about the property and its history. He was so fun to spend time with that even my mother, an extremely picky sommelier, had a great time (I wish I could share the video of her literally losing her mind over the Pinot Noir). Not to mention, he's got excellent hair! We also met Elizabeth, who runs the wine club, and she's incredibly helpful and smart. She helped us select wines to ship back to New York and helped us pick the best wine club membership (taste a wine and you'll see why we joined so quickly) So 5/5 for the location, the view, and the people. Additionally, the owner is a decorator and the decor is out of this world. So if you're into great photos (hey, sometimes you really just need a sophisticated Instagram), home-y spaces, great wine (and education), and unique art this is also a great place to call to see if you can visit while in Sonoma. The wines are game changing. I've never been to a tasting where I've enjoyed every single glass placed in front of me (and I've been trained in culinary and high end pairings). So amazing to find a truly unique, personalized and laid back tasting experience at the B Wise winery. My amazing boyfriend found this so it ahead of time and made reservations and I am so glad that he did! Driving into Sonoma for the long weekend we were running about an hour late and when we called into let the know they were totally understanding and accommodating. Once we got there Collin promptly took us on a tour of the property and into the wines for the tasting. The tastings themselves cost $45 but it was worth so much more than that...you get to try amazing wines and you have his undivided attention for almost two hours! Not only is he very knowledgable about wines but he is a genuinely nice fellow, patient with our newb wine questions and all in all, someone you would want to hang out with for two hours! Definitely worth a visit! Unfortunately we chose not to join the wine club but once we upgrade to that point in our lives this is one I would consider joining. Their wines are great overall but I feel lack a bit of character -kinda like getting the right answer on a hard algebra problem but not showing the work. Does it matter? My dude doesn't seem to mind. The folks are nice and the bathroom is lovely. I've actually met some pretty cool people just waiting to use the bathroom. So, definitely hit this place up if you're into meeting people while wine tasting. I usually wait outside after being inside for a minutes as the music and guests tend to overwhelm me (there always seems to be large groups when I visit). It's a small little place that never quite feels cramped but it's like I get sensory overload when the music is busy, people are partying, and I'm trying not to wonder about the cool cow rug while pinpointing what I like or don't like about the wine in my mouth. I'm a weird, I accept that. My dude likes the wines so I'm happy to come back, even if only to sip a bit, meet someone cool while waiting for the bathroom, and take a nice stroll outside. Instead of talking about the wine, we kept hearing about the owners wife and her taste in picking furniture. At $65 per person tasting fee, we felt we were very disappointed. We came to B Wise's tasting room on happenstance. We had a free tasting coupon from our host and it was right down the road from another tasting. It was a great experience. We had the entire tasting room to ourselves. Our server (who I cannot remember his name (Brian?) but reminds me of Aaron Paul in Breaking Bad) was fantastic. He really made our experience exceptional. We learned a lot about the winery and the different wines. B Wise is a really small production winery with about 20 acres on the top of the mountain. It was a relaxed environment and he was never too pushy or sales-y with the wine club (which is a big turn off). He just let the wine speak for itself which boy it did. Because of that and the quality, the wines are definitely pricier than some of the others. However, they are wonderful and you can't get them commercially. All of the wines that we tasted were fantastic. The reds are very full bodied which is right up our alley. However, the Cabernet was spectacular and one of favorite cabernets that we have tasted during our wine country trip. This is actually one place I would consider getting a wine membership. read more
