I was scheduled for neck surgery over 10 years ago. Suffering from severe neck pain that radiated to my arms and created numbness in my hands, over a period of several months I had exhausted all options. From pain medications to acupuncture, my primary care doctor and specialists all agreed that I needed surgery to repair a herniated 3rd cervical disc.
With surgery scheduled in a week, I asked my primary physician if there was ANYTHING else I could do to possibly avoid the surgery. He referred me to Dr. Eric Lampinstein, as several patients had spoken highly of him. For me, this was truly a last ditch effort. I had been to a chiropractor in the midwest many years before after being rear-ended in a traffic accident, and came away thinking they were all scam artists.
Dr. Lampinstein's office booked my appointment the same day. He reviewed my MRI and xrays and after three visits the pain and numbness were gone! Although the numbness would recur from time to time over the next year, adjustments allowed me to avoid surgery and stay off pain medication. Today the issue is completely resolved.
A few years later I developed back pain and sciatica. My primary physician sent me to a neurologist, who put me on pain medications and shots of botox in my back - but nothing relieved the pain. Physical Therapy helped a little, but the pain persisted. Finally the neurologist said, "There's nothing more I can do, and this particular problem cannot be corrected surgically, so you will need to stay on pain medication for the rest of your life."
I had continued seeing Dr. Lampinstein during all of this. I told him what the neurologist had said. He continued doing lumbar adjustments and encouraged me not to give up. Over a period of a few months of bi-weekly chiropractic adjustments the pain completely went away and has never recurred.
I've since learned that both my neck and back pain were symptoms caused by "subluxations" in my spine. I also learned that we all have subluxations and they often cause no pain, but can cause our body's natural ability to heal itself to be compromised - leading to illness. I had suffered from severe headaches and recurring bouts of pneumonia for years attributed by my medical doctors to a chronic illness. Prescription medications provided temporary "cures."
Dr. Lampinstein is an advocate for wellness. He has provided sage counseling that has helped me achieve a level of physical well-being I could have never imagined. I still manage a chronic illness, but have not had pneumonia in many years and the chronic headaches are also few and far between - and never severe.
With state of the art diagnostic and adjustment equipment (digital motion xray - advanced technology available in only a few places in the US, as I understand it) and a computer guided spine scanning system, he only does adjustments that are necessary. He runs a tight ship, so I'm usually seen without any wait - although he has a very busy office.
I will admit it, after being a patient for over 10 years, I'm a fan of Dr. Eric Lampinstein. I have referred many friends and family members to him without hesitation. He teaches patients the philosophy of chiropractic as part of his care. We are all bombarded daily with drug commercials and free samples of medications dispensed by our medical doctors almost upon request. Yet, if a chiropractor attempts to educate a patient about chiropractic care he risks the "critique" of indoctrinating patients - or scamming. While he is an advocate for wellness through regular chiropractic adjustments, diet and exercise, he also understands and is trained in treating chronic illness, so he respects the need for complementary treatments and medication.
I am living proof that regular chiropractic care can lead to a better health and a happier life and can't recommend Dr. Lampinstein highly enough. read more
