Two weeks after surgery I started coming to see Dr. Boris Shapiro at Bosh physical therapy. this office had been recommended to me by another friend who had a sports injury and had knee surgery. Horrible place. Worse experience I ever had. I had hip surgery and went to BOSH for rehab after some time trying to get over the severe pain. The moment I stepped into that rehab room, Boris Shapiro, was all over me with insults. "I can't believe how much pain you're in". "I don't know what to do with you". "why did you want for so long". "Why don't you go home for 2 months and let your leg fall off". etc etc. He was outrageous. Rude. Unsympathetic. And he kept asking me personal questions about how I made my money. I felt very uncomfortable, under attack and couldn't wait to get out of there. And although he claimed that the pain I was experiencing was unusual and he recommended I call my doctor, he performed rehab on me while I was in great pain. A good rehab person would have refused to perform rehab and instruct the person to go see their doctor to make sure all was medically good before rehab. And they would not be insulting their client. Little did Boris Shapiro know that the CUP to my hip implant had fallen out of the socket and was moving around in my hip causing me the great pain. THUS, his belief that my late start of rehab was the cause of my pain was wrong. And his many insults unwarranted. He was unprofessional and a person I would never go back to. I am now required to have a 2nd surgery to put more screws into the CUP so it doesn't fall out of the socket again. See attached image. read more

DISCRIMINATION IS PREVALENT HERE! Just left the office. I was injured at work & ended up retaining a firm for representation. The firm/workers compensation adjuster set up my appointment and faxed over necessary documents. After disclosing the mere fact that I had representation, the doctor outright refused to service me and became hostile. He ripped up the work authorization form and my new patient intake form & refused written reason why he would not assist me. He claimed it's his right to discriminate based on the fact I have a lawyer. All of which could be understandable, where I'm lost at is how he felt it be necessary to rip up documents in front of me and parade me out the building as if I was disturbing their business. I asked why he was refusing & being hostile with silence as the response. The type of care here is concerning given they work in the health field. I have periodically used Bosh Physical Therapy on Lincoln Road since 2012. Dr. Boris Shapiro has typically provided my care. Other senior staff such as Roger and Phil have also substituted for Boris. Each therapist has been extremely professional, skilled, patient and encouraging. The focus of my treatments has been recovering from several major orthopedic surgeries such total shoulder replacements and major lower back surgery to correct extreme spinal stenosis. Each recovery has taken several months to a year. There are three primary reasons that have brought me back repeatedly to Bosh PT regardless of where the surgeries were performed: 1) Boris Shapiro is an outstanding professional in his knowledge, application and personal attention; 2) He strictly follows the surgeon's prescription; 3) He manages each 55 minute session to complete a response to the current issue. Bosh Physical Therapy is clearly not the best as the physical therapist didn't know if he could work me. I've had over 15 physical therapist in my life and none of them ever wasn't sure they could improve mobility and strengthening. I've always seen progress. I was extremely hesitant (denial) to address two injuries(knee and ankle) I sustained this past summer. My Ortho prescribed PT x 3 weekly. Sigh. Simultaneous to my starting a new position. During a pandemic. The biggest issue for me was accepting some limitation as I worked to rehab my body. Bosh is located on Lincoln Road next to Zara. I sometimes bike over, but for folks who need to park, I find there's always a spot on Washington. Masks are required to enter the building and something that I note--the two women who work the building desk are particularly lovely! They greet me so personally. In these days of heavy, I find it to be just nice. The Bosh office is bright and clean and warm. Roxanna will greet you with this fantastic balance of professionalism blended with old friend vibe. Again, in these heavy times it is lovely. You will be treated by Boris or Roger. Two different vibes and personalities, however both seasoned and professional. I have come to trust both and really feel gratitude for their care. I initially walked in feeling anxious about the process. Thanks to the care at Bosh, the anxiety disappeared almost immediately. Great experience. Boris and his team are absolutely fantastic. I recently finished PT for my right shoulder's chronic tendinopathy and my experience was amazing. In one and half month I was able to return to full activity and that includes weight lifting, basketball, and Pilates. But this is not the only positive aspect at Bosh PT. I know I would not be where I am today without the therapy I have had for both a modified kidney procedure for an accessory navicular in 2011 and now a hamstring avulsion. Location is excellent, clean and well stocked full of all the PT tools. Staff are beyond superb! Boris Shapiro is very friendly, professional, knowledgeable person and has a great sense of humor. He really takes an interest in his clients and a real people-person. Bianca who manages the front desk is a true professional and very polite. I found BOSH Physical Therapy by pure luck! And BOY OH BOY AM I HAPPY!!! I fell in the airport at LAX on my way to my move to Miami. OUCH! My knee was very bruised & swollen & NOT improving in 3 weeks time. I was icing,elevating & limping I sought out an acupuncturist / chiropractor. Good..but no relief. I finally decided I NEED PHYSICAL THERAPY for this knee! I looked up my zip code on google & THE ONLY one near me that I could limp to was BOSH! Boris ,the owner, is charming,professional,good personality,calm, but beyond that HE REALLY KNOWS HIS STUFF! After my FIRST visit I felt 100 times better. He suggested I see an orthopedics surgeon,get X-rays & get a referral so my insurance would cover the visits. I love Bosh Physical Therapy!. I had a knee replacement in Chicago and decided to get my rehab in Miami. This is the best physical therapy I have ever had. Boris evaluates you, is always around turns you over to one of three assistants, Marianna, Jessica or Andrea. Every visit you get your same therapist who is able to monitor your progress. The place is small and some have noted lack of privacy, but you get to know not only the employees but the other patients. I really enjoyed going every day for 6 weeks. No one seems to watch the clock and try to get you in and out. It just a fun pleasant and productive experience. read more

I am a competitive bodybuilder and injury free for 11 years. Recently during (over)training for a competition I noticed a pain in my shoulder. I continued and completed the event and noticed the same if not more pain after 3 weeks in repose. I am very apprehensive when it comes to main stream medical and or doctors. I have visited Bosh for two injuries (2008 & 2014). Boris is very knowledgeable and good with patients. His staff is excellent, have a good understanding of rehabilitation and strengthening exercises and they are very nice genuine people. My first injury (shoulder) healed at the end of my one month of 3X per week therapy sessions. My second injury (also shoulder tendinitis, bursitis) is getting better, but is just taking longer to heal. I highly recommend Bosh Physical Therapy! I've had to go there twice, due to a broken knee-cap and then a broken ankle a few years later, so I speak from experience. Whereas other Physical Therapy places can be more like a gym with one staff member looking over several patients, at Bosh you get one-on-one attention from highly-qualified and knowledgeable staff, who also happen to be very nice! Since my accident in 2008 I have been to a lot of therapists. I recently moved into the Miami Beach area, saw the awesome reviews that Dr. Boris Shapiro and BOSH PHYSICAL THERAPY had received and was truly excited to get treatment. I booked an hour of Dr. Shapiro's time in order to come up with a plan for my care. What a mistake. On his questionnaire it asks to describe my ailments. I have numerous things wrong with me that need attention. When it was finally my turn to see him, I was met with " before we start, I just want you to know that I only treat one body part at a time". I said well I booked this hour with you to come and explain my ailments and to come up with a plan for my care. His answer? This Dr. who is here to help people that have ailments states... " NOT INTERESTED, have a nice day". I stated to him that he hadn't even given me a chance to talk to him about what's wrong. He states " doesn't matter, someone should have told you that I only treat one body part. Thank you. " A lesser man would have went on a screaming tirade. I have chosen to take this route. He could have treated a different body part each day of the week, or focused one body part at a time, but he chose to be rude and not offer, at a minimum, a few minutes of listening ( because I am sure he billed my insurance for the hour) to at least hear what I have going on and suggest some recommendations. As I was exiting his office, even his staff were staring at him with their mouths open in disbelief. To a minute few, BOSH Physical Therapy is the best place to get better. To most, who have more than a broken finger nail or a sprained knee, you should stay away from here. The arrogance and rudeness of Dr. Shapiro was evident in the 5 minutes I was there, I can only imagine what extended care would bring. read more
