Our experience with local doctors and specialists was stressful and overwhelming. We are in California and thankfully found Dr. Levitin's name on an online forum. We were in his OR within a month, and my child's gorgeous head had healed up quickly and so well. Our local doctors wanted to keep our baby on time consuming, stressful, invasive drugs for multiple years, and instead we all, as a family, have moved on past this intense time. Thank you!

Dr Levitin helped get insurance pre-auth quickly for my imaging. However, I had multiple challenges at his practice in recent times. I want Dr Levitin's and his office to succeed - I am leaving this review w/ good intent. After unsuccessfully trying all internal channels, I am resorting to this public review, so he has the opportunity to review and fix the process. Firstly, I went for completely unrelated issues on two separate occasions, but the doctor applied pressure to do surgery for deviated septum and for concha bullosa (significant number of ppl have this, and will lead a healthy life w/o any symptoms - I did not have any symptoms either - pls do not fall for this). Dr Levitin's office has a misguided notion of patient care, has implemented red-tape (rules of which are inconsistently implemented and sometimes made up on the spot) for no good reason, and is not integrated w/ Mount Sinai. Firstly, Dr Levitin had ordered a lab for me. Three weeks later, I still did not have the lab results even though the lab had released the results 5-7 business days later. They wanted me to make an appointment to get the lab results (later found to be negative) even though I had decided to transfer care elsewhere, and have the legal right to my own medical records. I was told they cannot email the lab results to my personal email for security reasons (even though my email address is registered w/ Mount Sinai, and they had sent me the Dr's notes a week earlier at the same email address). They did not want to send it using Mount Sinai mycharts either. Do they not trust the security of their own system? They said they can fax it to another specialist I was about to see. I called 3 times to confirm they had faxed the lab results. However, when I visited the specialist, I found out they had merely faxed them irrelevant docs w/o the lab results. Before I wrote this review, I spoke to the Mount Sinai patient representative to resolve this matter internally. The patient representative spoke to the office on at least two different occasions. I was informed that the Dr Levitin's office will send me the lab results by postal mail. When the results arrived, it had a page missing. Secondly, Dr Levitin and his staff do NOT use the Mount Sinai mycharts system. I sent them half a dozen messages on mycharts and ALL of them went unanswered. The messages have "Last Viewed" timestamps which confirm someone has read them but hasn't bothered to reply. I have had mixed answers when I asked them over the phone to clarify if they use the Mount Sinai mycharts system or not. Dr Levitin's notes are also not available on Mount Sinai mycharts system, even though I have access to notes from all the other providers I have seen. Even the most trusting person will speculate that revealing lab results, and getting answers to followup questions over mycharts has been made purposely hard, to have patients make another appointment, so that the office can charge the insurance some more monies. Lastly, they sent my prescription to the wrong pharmacy. This is merely a human error and NOT a big deal in my mind. However, when I pointed out the mistake it took them over a week to redirect it to the right pharmacy despite repeated, friendly reminders over Mount Sinai mycharts and phone. To make matters worse, there were two different antibiotics in the prescription order (instead of one), and it took me another week to clarify which was the right one. The person I spoke to said they cannot see the second antibiotic order on their side, even though I can clearly see it in Mount Sinai mycharts, and the pharmacy had filled both prescriptions. Prescription for steroids was wrongly refilled, even though it was a one-time course.

I had an AVM surgery. He showed me every scan of my arteries and explained everything clearly. I felt calm before my surgery only thanks to him. This is the best care and treatment you can get, not just in New York, but worldwide. I came from Europe to specially see dr. Greuner and glad I did. No wonder he is ranked as top 5 doctors in the world. He is so carrying, knowledgeable and genuinely an amazing person. The staff and dr. Tonis were so friendly and welcoming, they took the time to explain everything in detail and answered all the questions that I had. They followed up after the procedure to make sure everything was good with me before my traveling back to Europe. They don't just treat you, they make sure you leave their office healthy, pain free and with a smile on your face. I can't thank you enough how you changed my life. From constantly being in pain to being pain free, really increased quality of my life.

He flat out told me "I do not care what patients say" after asking me rapid questions but interrupting me before I could explain anything. When I got flustered (I was actively in pain and dizzy), he got annoyed and proceeded to tell me my diagnosis was wrong, but gave no further assessment. He didn't look at my paperwork, said he hadn't received test results that were right in front of him, and admitted that "I didn't look at your meds" after I asked if a medication he mentioned would be contraindicated with my current meds. Rude, dismissive, and antagonistic for no apparent reason. Maybe if your case is complicated enough to breach his ego he'll help you, but don't go to this man if you want to be treated like a human being.

I asked the receptionist how long a wait there would be (as I had a painful foot issue) and after checking she said about 45 minutes. I couldn't imagine standing in a hot waiting room for that amount of time. The very nice gentleman in the wheelchair offered to try to maneuver his wheelchair so I could get to the blocked seat. Anyhow, when I decided to leave I was asked if I wanted to reschedule??? What? I was scheduled. Don't schedule so many appointments near the same time to try to avoid this issue. At least offer me some room to sit in instead of having me stand for a long amount of time. The receptionist was SUPER friendly and nice (though I think the office manager was out sick that day...so not sure who was there, but it was the same person that took my blood), and I got to see the doctor within 20 minutes of being there. Dr. Isaacson makes you feel really comfortable and makes sure that all of your concerns are addressed. He also keeps the conversation light, so you kind of forget about being nervous :) When they took my blood, it was also super fast and painless, even though I don't have the easiest veins haha (props to the nurse!). There was no fuss about how much my copay was, which was a relief! Glad they took the time to really check out my insurance and make sure everything was OK.

I have been treated and examined by Dr. Gingold for over 10 years and I can say he is the best at what he does, with a very congenial bedside manner. He did my hemorrhoidectomy surgery about 7 years back and did a great job. I have always done my follow-ups with him. I just recently flew back to New York from my new home in Houston just to have an exam from him because he is very knowledgeable in the field, concerning preventive measures as far as potentially cancerous polyps are concerned. Read his newspaper article and his views concerning early attack of polyps. I highly recommend Dr. Gingold, but his schedule has been reduced lately to about 3 days during the week and surgeries are only on Fridays. So your chances of getting in to see this specialist is very tight. I also highly recommend Dr. Gottesman in that office also,I have seen him in the past and he has more availability. Hope this helps everyone in your search for well trained knowledgeable health professionals in treating and prevention measures when it comes to your healthcare. Thank you..and be well
