Unfortunately, the defendant maliciously added them to the discussion group last week, which led them to immediately "terminate" our agreement. I called their offices twice to apologize and signed the agreement promptly afterward. Despite this, they refused to accept my apology and voided the agreement--one that had taken nearly three weeks to finalize. I was deeply frustrated and disappointed by this type of business conduct, especially as someone with no prior experience working with attorneys. I had no intention of upsetting anyone.

But in time, we also needed to expand into what I figured would be three other small entities, one of which to be a charity. Greg gave excellent advice on how best to set it up and why it could function with one less entity than I figured. The charity required either his office doing the initial registration work or my doing it myself, to which he was ready to provide advice on where to go, what papers to file, etc without charging me for that part. Ultimately I decided to have his people handle the whole scope which required a decent flat fee up front, but that was to "bake in" all the overhead expected to the point where the charity was finally in place -- and that's exactly what happened. In spite of there being some bumps in the road toward getting the 501(c)(3) status, Greg never charged us for anything unexpected that fit within that original scope. Moreover, I always felt like I could get ahold of Greg when it was important and he was always happy to go over details with me that I might have trouble understanding. The staff was always friendly and pleasant, and there's a couple times we had to connect outside business hours to deal with a situation. While I'm sure they have much bigger clients than us, I've always felt we were a priority. Needless to say, I've been very thankful for their help and can't thank them enough for it.

Being a resident outside the state of Nevada, I was pressed with little time to find an attorney that could represent me in a Las Vegas civil case. A "David versus Goliath" scenario, myself being David and Goliath being a multi-multi-multi-multi-billion dollar conglomerate. My attorney in the state where I reside sent me a few reference links to some other Nevada attorneys, but after finding a few online reviews, I wasn't impressed. With very little time to find representation, I scoured yelp and other online lawyer review journals with many open tabs of potential lawyer websites. Aviva was the only lawyer with all perfect reviews and testimonials. Aside from the stress of my case, the other stress was actually choosing the attorney who could represent me. While I can't go into detail regarding my situation, I can say from start to finish, Aviva carried the weight off my shoulders. She has been my vanguard throughout the case. She was not involved in the interview process and had to recalculate numbers over and over again for a settlement. We were getting billed and billed for incorrect figures in my opinion . Our JV attorney Matt Whittaker apologized for giving Clara the incorrect facts/numbers in the case. Not good enough, we still got billed, both by Clara and Matt. Honestly he never seemed vested in this case. My Mother had just passed and we were more like a number , rather than an attorney who expressed compassion for the biggest lost of your life. Long story short Clara left the company and we were left hanging. No communication told us we had a new attorney until we dug deeper in the case. I even told Matt we may need another law firm. His response "Don't worry it wont hurt my feeling " that was after spending almost 16K on the case. Botton line things got so bad that I escalated the case to , I believe his name was Martin, very nice guy who said he would keep eyes on the case. Not sure how good the eyes were. Many other things/facts in this case were just not right. The attorney got their pay day. Many other facts I wont discuss, however one stands out. In our last court hearing out attorney Matt was asking for rent, guess what, we had no rental agreement to collect. The judge asked us how can you ask for rent with no rental agreement. You would think our attorney would have asked us if we had a rental agreement, or would have drafted one up months before our meeting with the judge, on and on... Like I said before Michelle and Melissa very nice and professional folks. I don't believe Michaelson Law is a sub par office, I just believe we got the the BIG TIME JV attorney. Its really sad when your treated this way, especially in you time of need . This is all just a moot point now, Case got settled and firm got paid handsomely .
