I had a chance encounter with him as he was on duty at Good Samaritan hospital in Suffern when I was brought in by ambulance having suffered a heart attack. I had blockages in two main arteries that required a total of five stents which Dr. Shih implanted. That was over ten years ago and I have been a patient of his since. During that time I have been sent for several follow up tests by him as he saw fit, a few of them administered in his office. I have found Dr. Shih to be very knowledgeable, caring and never willing to let a sign or symptom go unaddressed if he felt the need. He also takes his time to explain anything that needs it as well as being a good listener and questioner. I have nothing but respect for him and his abilities and hope to be able to call him my cardiologist for some time to come.
