My husband and I just bought our first home about a month ago and I've been procrastinating writing this review because I knew it'd be hard to concisely summarize how great and easy it was to work with Robin Deshotels. Much like what seemed like the rest of the greater Austin area, my husband and I started looking to purchase a new home at the beginning of January 2021. After spending a year in lockdown in a windowless, run-down apartment, we were determined to take the leap and finally get our own space. I just had a fantastic experience selling my house. Bailey Moran was my agent and she was just WONDERFUL. I think it's easy for a professional to be wonderful when everything goes as planned but it is far more telling how excellent they are when things go wrong. First of all, I am a first time home seller and was completely unfamiliar with the process. Bailey did much more than answering my questions, because I didn't even know what questions to ask. She provided such thorough information in our initial consult I felt like I had an excellent grasp on the process. She provided a stager...free of charge!...who came out and gave me a complete plan on what to do to prepare my house for showings. I followed their suggestions and the offers I got on my home were staggering...so much more than I had hoped. Here's where things went wrong and Bailey really showed what a fantastic agent does. My home went under contract right when we had a huge winter storm here in Texas. I'm a nurse and I ended up being stuck at my hospital four days straight. When I was finally able to get back home I found my pipes had burst and the house was flooded. I really couldn't imagine a worse thing to have happened. The floors, baseboards and all the doors had to be torn out. There were over 30,000 claims in Austin alone, so there was a huge wait for plumbers, contractors etc...and I was supposed to be closing in two weeks! Bailey worked magic with the buyers, their realtor and even the mitigation team that dried and repaired my house... she got them to create new contracts to transfer warranties to the new buyers, she checked in with me regularly to make sure *I* was doing okay, because she knew how stressed I was. My wife and I, somewhat on a whim, decided to start looking into options of building a home out of state, and the Austin area is where we ended up honing our search. Meredith Alderson was our realtor. Here's our story....When we first met her we came through Texas on our way back home from a road trip to upstate NY. While we were in Austin, she took a day and showed us a bunch of the houses that were available just so we'd have an idea of what was out here. Back in upstate NY, she helped us get a house rental for the first year we were here. She went to the rental house, inspected it for us, and connected with us through Skype so she could visually walk us through the home. That was impressive. Then a year later, she helped us find the home we ended up buying. She is caring, patient (she was never pushy about us getting a house), and was all around a great realtor. The only issues I had with her was how busy she was and her recommendations for a mortgage loan. She's so good that she has a lot of clients and with that comes the issue of her time being stretched out amongst all the people she's working with. So there were times we had to wait to get an answer from her, to set up times to go see homes, or to get into the house once our offer was accepted, etc. It was never anything horrible but just a little annoyance. The other thing was her recommendations for mortgage lenders. We did a lot of shopping around for a loan and the people she recommended had closing cost fees that were really high. We ended up going with an online lender whose fees were almost non-existent and if we would have gone with her recommendation, we would have been out a few grand. I just think as a realtor you really need to have good people to recommend for services like mortgage loans, home insurance, home inspections, handymen, contractors, etc. that are cheap and do their job well. Having those would help home buyers that much more. I just felt we didn't get a lot of help with those parts of the process. But like I said, if you're thinking of going with Meredith, do it, she was great, I only had those few issues, but overall she worked her butt off for us, did a great job, and helped us buy our home and for that, we're grateful. read more

This is our second time purchasing a home here in TX. The first time, my family went from living in a 2200' sqft luxury condo apartment in Steiner Ranch to a five year old, huge 3400" sqft home in the Sendero Springs/ Walsh Ranch neighborhood. I got introduced to Eric when he helped us find our rental apartment a couple years ago. And the experience was so pleasant, that when we were looking to buy a house, we went straight to him. And boy am I glad we did. As a first time home buyer it was important we had a realtor who was both knowledgeable and patient with the several questions we had. Eric gets high points on both. They say the market is so hot right now in Austin that you need to be prepared to write many offers and be prepared to get your offer beat out. I have had friends tell me they have made 30+ offers and are still looking. That is not the case with Shaun and the team at Eric Bramlett Residential Real Estate. We went and saw three homes over two weekends. We found one that we absolutely fell for but didn't want to get to attached to it for fear of getting beaten out. Buying a house is scary... There I said it. Buying your FIRST house can be down right mortifying, especially when in your 40's like myself. It's important that you find the right real estate agent to help make the process less scary. I hold personal recommendations in very high regard, especially from friends. My good friend Joe recommended Eric Bramlett since he had helped him both buy and sell a house. Eric took us out on our first run and then handed us off to Bailey to help us on our quest to buy our FIRST house and of all markets Austin TX which is NUTS.
