I can't believe I wasted years with this company. The first claim I have ever submitted was due to a flood from a tenants toilet above me. The flood engulfed my clothes, bed and other items. The claim adjuster called me and said they have a Company that will try to salvage the items and return them to me.WTF! I explained the flood included the tenants feces, and the adjusters response was " anytime we wash, feces comes off our bodies" WTF! I said, yeah our bodies, not someone else's. I can't believe they would suggest us wearing clothes or sleeping in a bed that was soaked in feces. Carlos Arenas was the adjuster. Will charge you and not refund money for 3 months. Predatory business practices with agents who have no power to help you. We had an annual policy that renewed on Dec 19th. On November 15th we called trying to figure out how we could cancel before our renewal date. They said it was too early and they couldn't cancel the policy. They proceeded to charge us 15 days before the policy renewed and are refusing to refund our money until our cancellation date of Feb 15th. Then they are going to mail a check that is going to take 4 weeks. Ultimately they charged me money in December and are refusing to refund it in March when I need to cancel my policy. When I asked if I can just cancel the policy all together they said their system wouldn't allow them to and there's nothing they can do. WARNING....this is a shady company at best. They masquerade as the 'Leasing company" that you leased the apartment from. The return address on their email correspondance is "support@leasingdesk.com". So reading your email quickly, you may assume you're getting email from your apartment leasing company.....You most likely are NOT required to purchase eRenterPlan insurance, and if you do a tiny bit of quick research you will see they are 4 to 5 times MORE EXPENSIVE than some other more reputable companies....with LESS COVERAGE. In my case, they chose a start date for coverage that was TWO WEEKS before I moved into my apartment. When I called to complain they refused to refund that $. This company is a scam. 1. They will set up auto charge with your acknowledgement and charge you even if you've already moved out. 2. You can only call to cancel your policy but most of time no one will answer you. 3. Someone promised to send a check to refund but no one follow up this promise again. I applied to two apartments last August and eRenterPlan was the mandatory renters insurance for both. I had to apply for renters insurance for both apartments before I was accepted. Obviously I chose one apartment to sign a lease at however unbeknownst to me eRenterPlan has been charging me for both policies (one being for an apartment I have never lived in or signed a lease at). It's been over a week and I can not get in touch with a licensing agent. The customer service here is horrific. They purposefully make cancellations/refunds an extremely long, irritating process. They probably knew there was a mistake initially but collected my money anyway. If you have the option go with another insurance company. Horrific abuse of power. read more

Best interaction I've had with an insurance company! I called to get a claim because the apartment I moved into had roaches and I had to throw out my mattress. Although they do not cover living organisms, Saudia was extremely compassionate and directed me toward other resources for my problem. UPDATE: I just resolved my issue, thanks to it being forwarded to a nice gentleman named Christopher. He expedited the cancellation process and took care of it for me. I had these NO GOOD for nothing crooks for a while! Just ended them due to them screwing me. I now have to jump thru hoops due to them screwing up! My apartment flooded due to the 2nd floor hot water heater bursting and no one living there. So it leaked thru my walls and ceiling and flooded my whole apartment. Luckily I was home so I was able to save my belongings. Put me out 3 weeks living in a Sheraton and the apartment said to send them receipts of my time not being in the house. MY ISUUE: I have recently bought a 400k home and go to get insurance.. Guess what the new company tells me... DECLINED, said I needed a letter stating that either A- inquiry Open but no pay out or B- Accidental claim open... well these JERKS said they couldn't provide either... so I couldn't use home owners insuRance with whom I wish too.. This business is TERRIBLE. I have been a customer for 3 years and they seem to have no problem charging my bank account for their overpriced renters insurance. I have tried calling them for a week, (and was put on hold), to cancel my policy before they charged my bank card as I have to move by the end of the month due to my mother and roommate passing from cancer. I never did speak to a person and today they took money from my bank account and will dispute these and further charges. I will be trying to contact them via e mail If I do not get a response, my money back and a cancelation in 48 hours I will contact my attorney to seek further legal action. I'm only giving 1 star because their emergency service helped me when my entire apartment building flooded, deeming my unit unlivable. They placed me in a hotel in no time and the claims process was smooth. If I had not had excellent service during that emergency, I'd give them 0 stars if I could. After that situation, I moved a new apartment and their customer service was impossible to work with. They transfered my policy to my new unit...but then automatically renewed my insurance for that unit without my consent after the lease was up. I then found out six months after that lease ended because I received a bill due for renter's insurance for that address that I no longer lived in! I called them about this and they asked for proof that I was no longer living at that address, so I sent them my written move-out notice and the confirmation by that property manager. Since then, I've called several times and emailed, I have been told multiple times I'd get a refund in the mail....it has been three months and I still have not received a refund for the policy they renewed for my old unit without my consent. read more

The automated message told me that approximate wait time was 7 minutes... but guess what; I never got a call back. Not to mention my policy was $35 a month. If I could give 0 stars I would. My car was broken into in Early September. Betsy was my original agent, but I was transferred to Scott Philipp almost immediately, no big deal. The issues started when I hadn't heard anything from Scott for two weeks. After multiple emails, phone calls, a request to be transferred to a more responsive adjuster (which was ignored) and three weeks time, I threatened to report the company to the Better Business Bureau which is when Scott finally replied and let me know that our policy wouldn't cover the cost of repairing my window, but would cover the cost of everything that was stolen out of my car. I supplied an excel spreadsheet with everything that was stolen and its price on 9/29 which Scott acknowledged that he had received. I've since updated the spreadsheet once with multiple items that were stolen, I had moved out of my parents house the night before, so there was a lot that was stolen out of my car. It is now October 21and I have still heard NOTHING regarding my claim. No wonder you can't find the names of the owners anywhere, they obviously don't want to be connected to this scam of a company. Stay away from this company!!!! When I moved locations to a new apartment last year I called customer service to have my policy moved. They assured me that the policy was moved to my new address, but without my knowledge, they opened up a NEW POLICY for me and NEVER cancelled the old one. Then when I try to call customer service to get a refund for the policy, I sit on hold for an hour and never get in touch with anyone. Do NOT follow the autoprompter menu, just stay on the line for a representative, and tell them you want to cancel. If you follow the autoprompter menu, you'll be stuck on the phone for hours like most of the reviewers on here. I waited for about half an hour before re-calling and staying online to talk to a rep. Was on the line for about 30 sec before getting answered, and got the cancelation done in about 3 mins. They were super nice people (once you actually get a hold of them) and the process was easy. I am pissed, because the reason why I had to cancelled was because they couldn't add an insurer on my policy and then wanted to turn around and charge me an extra $100 to update my existing!!! Crazy! Trying to cancel my policy was a disaster. I emailed them about two months before my policy was set to renew, and they told me how cancel my plan. I then sent in the signed cancellation form a month before my policy was set to renew - following the instructions they gave me. No response. When I asked about it, they claimed they didn't get it. I sent it two more times before anyone decided to respond to me. No apology, no acknowledgement of my frustration. They also charged me an additional payment since they refused to acknowledge my cancellation. I had switched banks a while back and didn't change the one I used for them because MY POLICY WAS SUPPOSED TO BE CANCELLED BY THEN. So I got charged an overdraft fee from my bank. read more

They are a total scam! First they auto enroll you so every year they will charge you. But they won't let you cancel unless it's a month in advance. So for a full year you are not allowed to cancel the auto enroll. Further, they broker your deals out to other insurance companies so if you do need to file a claim, you have to communicate to a third party. Total shady scammers!! read more

The automated system cannot find my account and there is no way to talk to a human being to cancel service. This company strikes me as a piece of crap. I actually own apartment buildings, and tried for 3 days in a row to speak with someone that could provide me with further information. I was only able to speak with useless reps in the Philippines that couldn't provide one useful iota of information. After reading the reviews here, I am not surprised at all. If someone wants to give you business, those are the most valuable leads, but they only seem to have a sales prevention department. This is a definite hard pass, whether you own the apartment building or are a renter, I can only imagine what an inefficient pain in the a$s it would be to deal with these people down the road. The guy canceled my plan right away although I said I wasn't moving for another month! My car got stolen and I was trying to file a claim for personal items in my car but since the guy canceled my policy before I told him to I can't file a claim. I rented an apartment for the summer time, 3 months, went online, cancel my policy, they kept charging me, it was only $13, so I didn't pay much attention after that, but I checked a couple of months back and I had more that 12 months of charges, they renew the policy automatically, even when I canceled online, they sent me a form to fill and fax which is unbelievable and they still charged me last month. I cancelled this policy via phone (the only way they allow you to cancel) in June 2018. It's now Jan 2019, and I just realized they are still charging me. I thought the charges on my card were for my new policy with another company because the names are similar. Very unhappy that I've been charged for the past 7 months.
