I am with Camden Apartments and eRenter was their featured insurance. I have been with them for 4 years and have never had a problem with them at all. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars is because I transferred to a Camden in another state and eRenter had to charge me two months in advance even though I had been with them for almost 4 years. They said it was because it was a new state, I wasn't really happy with that but they did refund my Cali insurance and had my new insurance all setup for the new property. I called erenter insurance and was quoted a price that was very reasonable and better then the insurance company I was going to use that insures my car. I got more coverage and for less money. It was quick and simple and they sent the verification right to my apartment for me. I was told by my leasing agent that when erenters has been needed they are there for you and take care of you right away. I had state farm and changed my car insurance and had heard terrible things about their recovery on renters and home owners insurance. They raised my premium without informing me of the increase until after it went into effect. Then they added a $3.00 "service fee" to the expected quarterly premium...again without informing me. I only learned of the "necessary service fee" when I called to discover why the amount posted didn't match the amount billed. That's a $7.25 quarterly increase and my payments are automatic and I have never made a claim. read more

Don't buy rental insurance from this company if you want to manage everything online. On the last Tuesday, I used the website message to ask them if I enrolled the automatic payment last year. I also required the cancellation if I mistakenly enrolled it at that time although I usually didn't allow auto renewal from the new companies which I was first time to buy something from. However, they never reply me and just tried to get renewal fee from my credit card today. I was lucky that my credit card number was stolen and replaced last year so they failed to get my money today. If you are not as lucky as me, check the other's review and reconsider how to use your valuable time and money. read more

Terrible company! Terrible service. Avoid them by any means. They only accept online automatic payments and there is a charge for it. The question: if it is an only option to pay, why don't you just include it into the price? Plus, by their policy, they will charge your card something about 10 days or more before the covered month starts. If you want to cancel, say after you move out, their costumer service never responds, or when they hear what you want, they may just drop your call... and they keep charging your card agaon and again. The only way to stop them robbing you, is freezing your card. read more

I have not had any problems with eRenterPlan until just recently. I've had to file a claim with them and it goes through a different company and it was handled and checks mailed to me ASAP! The claims process was amazingly easy and fast! I've had great customer service every time I have called. TODAY is totally different.... I have been on hold for over 2 hours... I keep getting emails saying my policy is going to be cancelled if I do not login or pay online. I paid my policy on Sunday and today is Thursday.... No one is emailing me back or answering this stupid phone... As soon as I get someone to answer (if they do before they close) I am going directly to a supervisor and requesting information for higher ups... They are even sending this information to my apartment community! My balance tells me I don't owe anything and can't make a payment so I don't know what is going on.. I have never had to wait this long on the phone for anything... I've even gone and left the phone on speaker and took a shower! I may begin looking for renters insurance elsewhere...... read more

These people are pretty easy to work with. I got a great amount of coverage, for in my eyes, a good rate. It was easy to set up over the phone. It took probably 15 minutes to be all squared away, and they were open on the weekend. At one point I had a question or two a few weeks into my service. I simply called their number, they took my information so they could look into my account, I asked my questions, and I got my answers. Simplicity is a nice thing to have. I have a peace of mind knowing that not only the property that I'm renting, but my belongs are also safe, if anything awful were to happen, such as a fire, pipe bursting, or a theft. ********DO NOT USE***** I tried logging in several times to cancel my policy and I never had a user name activated, it never recognized me, and I was unable to cancel my plan. Seeing how I had no history there, I assumed (my fault) I would not be asked to renew or at the very least not be charged with out my consent. Surprise! I was charged $220 dollar with no warning for an insurance plan I needed for 6 months a year ago. I immediately tried to call, got no one. Website was down for maintenance as well. When I got a response to cancel I turned the form in immediately on 3/24 and requested that they let me know they had received it and how long it would take. I want to just let people know that this company is nothing more than a Scam!! It is nothing more than a Web Site and a phone number, I tried to call because I needed to cancel because I was moving out of my apartment. I waited with my cell phone on speaker for 3 hours with no one answering, they will not answer a message either. They took $58 bucks out of my account July 15th I had to cancel my card, and tried to take more money out on the 30th of July. In order to cancel you have to call them or they'll just bill you again. I was trying to give roughly 2 months notice to cancel and they said they can't cancel that far out. I just cancelled it completely, total scumbag company. read more

I would recommend not using this company. Their online portal is very buggy. I was unable to access my account on several occasions. There was also a time when I couldn't update my billing information online, and instead of it giving me meaningful feedback it just never processed. I tried again at a future date and it worked. The most frustrating thing that happened was when I went to cancel my policy I ended up cancelling it too early since they wouldn't let me cancel it on the day I moved out of my apartment. I moved out on July 3rd but the latest the would let me cancel the policy was June 10th. This led to me cancelling too early and getting charged $75 by my apartment complex. I called them and asked for a back dated policy to get this $75 charge reversed and they would provide me with no such document. One guy even mentioned the computer system was probably "bugged" when I went to cancel, and another lady was "sorry for the inconvenience". Just give your money to a more reputable business, preferably one that doesn't have a bugged out website. read more

Canceling the automatic transfer take you 30 minutes waiting for them to answer the phone. There's no way to change the setting online. Obviously they built this malicious system intentionally to keep you from changing to other service. read more

Incompetent, no response, connected to Irvine Company somehow. Seriously the worst. If you rent with Irvine company they will pressure you to sign with erenter. Don't do it. Like so many others I can't get a login to work and they canceled my plan with a letter that didn't even have a phone number on it. I have proof that I paid even though they claim I didn't. Got a letter in the mail from them saying they won't reinstate my policy unless I renew it, I thought okay great I just wont pay them then So it will be cancelled. Wrong the next day they charged 309$ from my account. Have to wait till they are open on Monday to confirm cancellation since I cancelled it online. After reading these I am hoping for that refund asap. Need the money to pay rent. And then considering that we moved out 6 months ago from the insured place. Changed my name as well since we got married. So wrong name wrong address, yet they still managed to charge our account? Wow. I called Erenterplan to cancel my policy and was told a refund would go back to my method of payment, being I was billed a month prior. Called again to inquire of my refund now it takes 3 to 5 weeks. My only problem is the first customer service agent needs to be informed of the refund policy. I had eRentersPlan when I first moved to my apartment community. Since then, I've switched to Farmers. I decided to make the switch because I had recently purchased a new vehicle and shopped for bundled rates. It was more for the convenience of having ONE payment due for Renters Insurance and auto coverage for both vehicles all with the same company. NOT because of poor service. When it came time to cancel the policy, I did it all online and it was a cinch! I don't see the complication other posters are speaking of. Personally, I haven't had any online issues with them. Not only was the cancelation process easy, they also refunded the remainder of my unused policy premium directly to my bank account WITHOUT ME ASKING FOR IT. It was deposited in about 48 hrs. Pretty happy with them for the 8 months that I retained their services. I recommend them frequently. They have four stars because I (fortunately) did not have to report a claim and therefore am unaware of the service level received during the claim process. But, based on the tellings a of a two other eRenterPlan policy holders, they were very happy with claim process and end result. One individual even mentioned that her premium didn't increase after the claim either. Sounds good to me!! But, that wasn't MY experience. So four stars is all i am prepared to give. read more

I've called twice and they have told me it's been mailed and every time I tell them I haven't received it they say just wait some more...how much longer will I be waiting for my refund?? I signed up for a policy in May of this year. I paid for a year of coverage. They took out the payment the very next day from my checking account. I decided to cancel the policy 2 days later and I went online and requested cancel. It is now over a month later and I still have not received my refund check. I was told it takes 6 to 8 weeks to get a refund. This is very interesting. It takes one day for them to deduct the money from my account but 6 to 8 weeks for them to refund. What kind of company doesn't care to help customers who have a disability. Just became power of attorney for my brother who has Cerebral Palsey. I got this position because his father in in hospice and can no longer handle what he needs. Erenterplan cancelled his policy due to an account that was delinquent. I called to get his account paid in full and reinstated so that we could have him insured. After speaking to their supervisor, the moron on the other end of the phone said that because I wasn't on the policy that I couldn't make a payment. I said we could get my brother on the phone but you wouldn't be able to understand him due to his disability. He actually said he couldn't help and was sorry. Unbelievable. I will never use them or recommend them to anyone and I hope there's a lawyer reading this who likes class action suits because obviously eRenterPlan wants nothing to do with helping out those who are less fortunate.
