I feel in the contractor world, you should always expect delays, and more charges. But exactly the opposite happened with ERE Inspections. I needed a HERS Report done quickly on an old permit that I thought was closed out from a different company. They got me in quickly and I had signed up for a more expensive test, but they let me know that I didn't need that and charge me for the lower report. They were able to turn around the report almost instantly and stepped me through the Cheers account process. I literally couldn't ask for a better experience. Thank you ERE! I was in need of HERS testing after replacing an existing, tired, old AC unit in our home with a brand new unit. Didn't know much about the process other than understanding the energy efficiency of the system needed to be tested and certified prior to having the City inspector come out to approve the final step of the permit process. Needed to get a HERS test done on a new A/C system which included brand new ducts. As most homeowners nowadays, I did my research and shopped around for the best price. Unfortunately, searching on Yelp for HERS tests proved difficult, so I searched on the old favorite, Google. ERE was the fourth or fifth listing that showed service for the LA area. To be honest, I was apprehensive to call because they were based in Redondo Beach, and from what I heard, many companies charge for drive time, but I am so glad I did! I spoke with Roman on the phone who was super friendly and gave me a flat rate price for the test. Not only did they come in with the best rate in comparison to the other three at the top of the Google list, but they were able to get an inspector to our house the following day! ithin a few hours of our conversation, I got a confirmation of our appointment sent to my email. 30 minutes prior to arrival, the inspector, Anthony, called to let us know he was going to be a little early, which actually worked out better for us. Upon arrival, he gave us a quick overview of the process as well as an estimated time for the job and completed work on the shorter side of the window. He told us electronic copies of the paperwork would be emailed within 24 hours and hard copies would follow via mail. Such an easy process. We found out that we needed a HERS Rater inspection for a permit that wasn't done by the previous owners of our home. I called Roman from ERE and was so helpful from the beginning, got us in fairly quickly. Roman (the owner) showed up bright and early at 7:30 am so that I could go to work that day. One of our units wasn't working (the nest wasn't turning it own) and he wasn't able to test it if it didn't turn on (our issue not his) and he was on the phone with costumer service from nest and also tried to fix the issue on his own....nothing to do with the testing that he showed up for. He was able to do the testing on the other unit (the one that actually required a permit). He was helpful, pleasant and explained the process. He really took care of us. I have done quiet amount of work on remodels. But this is first addition that required HERS / title 24 . I must say we had problem on every step of the planning with architect, getting permit approved, construction finishing up. Just problem after problem. We have met about 10+ contractors that are not reliable. Process took over 20 months for 750 sqft addition with me taking over project at the end pretty much. Roman was one that did not take any effort to complete. His quote was not reasonable. It was best one . He came on time and kept me posted on every step. He was very understanding and professional wearing mask gloves and shoe covers too. With Covid19, it's normally uncomfortable bringing in contractors in to a house with kids and so on.
