Funny there is drama in a weed shop. I went in tonight after a long day at work and a long day for a person of color of color - in need of some medicinal support. I was speaking to the clerk and she was going over the selection. During the engagement I saw some items on the wall, and I was asking about the cost and the items. The white/hispanic man with the pepper beard and black mask rudely told me "to move over." I did not appreciate his tone but complied. Then my clerk handed me plastic atm machine. During the transaction I consciously moved into the original position. So its odd that I can stand there to pay and patronize - but not to look at items that I intend to purchase. I felt a way and called the clerk a b word and I stand by what I said! He needs to watch his tone and learn how to talk to customers. I then called back to speak to a manager - and of course he answered and tried to rationalize and justify his unprofessional and disrespectful tone. Light skin privilege is a thing! I've been three times and hated it twice. It's very convenient, and seems to have a good variety, but your experience will come down to the person helping you. Twice I've been "helped" by a woman who clearly was not interested in helping. The first time I shook it off bc it was my first time in the place. But the second time... here's the story. During my second visit, had the coolest time with a guy whose name I wish I could remember. I had a recommendation from a friend, and showed it to the guy on my phone. He says, we don't have that exact thing, but I have something close. It will make you feel like X, Y, Z. But I didn't want whole buds, so he steered me to a cartridge. Very nice conversation, very knowledgeable, hella personable. Third visit, and back with this woman. Showed her the same recommendation, said I know you don't have that exact thing, but the other guy showed me some whole bud. She goes, no, we don't have anything like that, and then crickets. No recommendation, no suggestions. Only, we don't have anything like that, do you need a few more minutes. I kept asking her questions, and at one point she says, oh, it's just weed. OF COURSE ITS ALL JUST WEED, but what is the delivery, strain, effects, etc? She was so supremely unhelpful, and even though this place is convenient, her lack of helpfulness is enough to have me look for another place so I don't have to take the chance that she is the one I have to work with. And to top it off -- she gave me the wrong thing when I did ask for something specific. Weed is too expensive now to not at least have a quality buying experience. This place is ducked off in the cut - classic LA dispensary style, set up in a corner hidden from some of the large thoroughfares that are nearby it. 'Tax free' for medical patients on Sunday - Tuesday and I easily found parking on a Sunday. Inventory-wise these guys are pretty well-stocked. All ranges of flower quality from top shelf to mid-range and outdoor. They had one strain of 710 Labs flower which is what got me to come by, but they also had a lot of the Connected and Alien Labs outdoor 1/8s. As well as a ton of the Raw Garden live resin cartridges. Josh was my budtender and was helpful. Successfully upsold me on some House 1/8 called GMO - haven't smoked it yet but it smells plenty loud and the Cannabinoid readout is in the 30% range. I like going to shops that have been in this game for a while because they understand and respect cannabis. read more

I've gone to this store at least once a month for years and recommended it to many friends. I brought back a disposable pen that was not working, but clearly full for an exchange or credit and was also going to buy many new products. The manager on duty confirmed that I had purchased the product very recently and it was in good condition but would not do anything. He suggested I call the product company and didnt offer to call on my behalf despite that his business carries their product. It bums me out when greed gets the best of once, good companies. New Amsterdam was THE place on the Westside for quality medicine. They had great prices, staff and an amazing selection. 2018 comes along and this place goes to shit. Unlike most ethically run dispensaries, New Amsterdam thought their Medicinal patients would gladly pay an extra 35% on top for taxes. All the other dispensaries I frequent were intelligent enough to at least split this fee with their patients, so that the hit wasn't so bad. NAN, unsurprisingly, went from hopping to an absolute ghost town. Even worse you can't actually see or smell the product, because of these ridiculous containers. AND everything is sold in terrible pre-packaged bags, which completely dry out the product. They say these are all new 'regulations', but amazingly, not a single other dispensary is following them. New Amsterdam used to have a really cool, laid-back vibe. That is also totally gone. Everyone is bitchy, as they watch their business crumble. Really sad to see, but shitty decisions will always have shitty outcomes. Get your act together! read more

Would not recommend this place. I was a first time client and was lured in by a deal that I saw on social media. I made a special trip over to this place on a very busy day to purchase a couple of the deals. Ease of parking is why I can give it at least one star. Biggest issue: while they accept credit/debit cards, you will pay fees to use them regardless of the size of your purchase. That's right. They were willing to lose over $50.00+ in business (and a potential returning/loyal customer) for a $3.00 fee. Ridiculous. Plenty of other dispensaries care about sales and customer service. The budtender was polite but didn't really care about figuring out a way to prevent me from walking out. So I walked out. Okay let me preference this by saying i was frequent customer of this place and would still be if not for there horrifying treatment of people. They have pretty average weed and the prices vary from 25 to $90 for the eighth. you can actually get much better deals for stronger quality at "THE GREEN VILLAGE" dispensary down street. They have a beautiful Aesthetic that i really enjoyed, like a mac store when you walk in. which may explain there astronomically high prices. Now to the trigger that prompted this review and why i'll never give them business again. This place has absolutely no loyalty to there customers or any symbolism of customer service. I was verbally mistreated by there security at the front door because he would not accept my ID. very rudely he told me that i could not speak to the manager and or any other security that i've seen in the past. I had a valid physical copy that has been accepted at this place as well as multiple businesses and state officials before. this was upsetting enough but when I went to retrieve my ID the physical hard copy that the security requested i have, he turned me away and said that quote "i won't be shopping here today" WOW! the fact that they let security be this rude to guests in the beginning during our initial dispute is bad enough. But now to be turn away for no reason at all feels like a violation of my rights, as a medical marijuana user with a disability I will be taking it further then this review but i also want the public to be aware that this place does not value your business. They are right by the 10 Freeway and Sony studios which is helpful if you work in Culver City or live in Beverly Hills.
