We needed the trees along our driveway trimmed back and the branches overhanging our pastures…read moreremoved. We also wanted the large oak trees around our house and the large hackberry trees along our fence line trimmed. And we had a LOT of smaller hackberry trees and thorny vines growing up in the fence line on one side of our property that we needed cut back before they damaged the fence. We also needed a stump ground down from a tree we lost a couple of years ago from straight line winds. I called Woody's Tree Service in Denton/Sanger, TX and spoke with Tanisha who set up an appt to come for an estimate that same day. She came by and looked at what needed to be done and gave us a quote which was MUCH more reasonable than two we had received previously. The work was set up to be done the following week and the crew arrived on time as scheduled. Part of the crew started on the fence line while others started on the driveway trees. In total, we had 7 workers on our job. They did an EXCELLENT job of trimming the trees, removing the vines and trees woven into the fencing, grinding the stump, AND cleaning up!! The crew picked up nearly every twig and bit of debris, raked, etc. The place was spotless when they finished! Tanisha and the owner, Martin, came by to check on the crew and to be sure we were happy with the job, which we obviously were. I would highly recommend Woody's Tree Service to anyone in the area needing tree work done. Their service is FANTASTIC!!

They also went ahead and trimmed a backyard tree that we had removed from the original quote to save on cost, which was a great extra. The team worked efficiently, did an excellent job, and left the area cleaner than when they arrived. Pricing was very reasonable for the amount and quality of work, and I would definitely use them again.

We had a great experience with Oak Grove for a sprinkler system installation…read more We had an existing (non-functional) system at our house that needed to be removed and completely reinstalled. As any homeowner should, we got two bids on the project. We had a landscape plan from another company that we were able to provide to help with the bidding. Pricing from the two firms came back at nearly the same pricepoint. We went with Chad's team at Oak Grove because we'd been referred by the company who did our existing system assessment (a company that's highly regarded throughout the area) and we had a great deal of comfort after talking to Chad and understanding how his company operates. The installation process took about a week and, unfortunately for Chad's crew, it was the hottest and muggiest week of the season. The laborers were quick, efficient and cleaned up after themselves. There was always a crew chief on site to oversee the work and make sure everyone was drinking plenty of water. The work site was left spotless at the end of every day. We were impressed that we were called and asked for permission any time they needed to leave supplies in our yard overnight. Chad was eternally patient with our many questions. So were his staff (Bart and Chris) who on site. And, by the way, all of the work was done to code - Chad is a licensed irrigator. They pulled all necessary permits and sent us proof of our passing inspection at the close of the job. Payment was super easy. A QuickBooks invoice was emailed to us (50% before the job started, 50% upon completion) and we were able to pay using our bank information. Couldn't be simpler. I highly recommend Chad and his team for this type of work. And based on how they did with irrigation, I would trust him with my landscaping work also. For those who like pricing information, it was $4500 for the job - removal of old system, installation of new including new very fancy controller box, permits and clean up.

The experience has been far from positive. We negotiated prices, they took measurements of my property, we walked around the house, and in general, we had a detailed conversation about the work that was going to be performed. After agreeing to the price, I asked the son to send me a text outlining the services and the agreed price. After this happened, I was told the work would take a few days. A couple of days or so after the work began, I received a text stating the duration of the job would require extension because "there is no grass at the moment," and they (the grass supplier) wouldn't be open for a few days. I said ok to that, no problem. A day later I got a text stating it would cost them more to complete the job. Playing devil's advocate, I inquired into how much more it would require. I was then told it would cost another $1360 additional over and above the almost $3000 we agreed to. I was then asked if I wanted the job they started finished to which I replied all this was pretty outrageous as my front and backyard was already carved up. Long and short of this I was asked to make another payment of $1850 in addition to the $600 I gave them to start the job, which I did, following which they subsequently ghosted me and have ceased to answer or respond to any of my calls and messages inquiring into the completion of the work we agreed to. The installed grass in the front is of varying quality and is dying, the grass in the back of the house (other than a slim line on one side) has not been installed. You would be best served avoiding these fellows - they lack integrity and professionalism, and are very money hungry in general. They obviously do not adhere to agreements and are likely to do the same to you.
