The other rentals pricing are on par with the ski resorts pricing and this place seem to be better. They even have a policy where if you have issues with the rental-- call them and they will come to you on the mountain to adjust the equipment. Very cool! Also, they allow you to pick up a day earlier (after 3pm) but only charge for days you rent. So if you wish to rent for Friday and Saturday, you can pick it up Thursday afternoon! All rentals must be returned by 5:30PM. We rented 2 days of snowboarding boots & board with bindings. Filled out form online, checked in upon arrival with another form and paid. It was $69 for 2 days of rental. They are currently offering a mid-week deal of $21.99 for minimum of 2 days rentals (not weekends)! Employees were very friendly and helpful. Thanks!!!!

You can probably find cheaper shops as I did years ago, but you will never find a better shop with respect to customer service and taking care of things they sell than First Trax. I used to buy equipment in Sports Odyssey but switched couple of years ago to First Trax and very glad I did. Bought a ski package from them last year and wanted to adjust boots today. Came over to the First Trax and they spent half an hour on adjustments no questions asked! BTW, they did excellent job and boots feel great now. Another great thing about First Trax is that they do seasonal leasing for kids. This is second year I get seasonal lease of ski package for my granddaughter and I am very happy with the service. They lease BRAND NEW equipment at the same price other shops charge for used packages and they changed boots in the middle of the season for my granddaughter twice. Great shop! Highly recommended.

After my first day skiing with new boots I was having some trouble, so I brought them back the next day. He explained that what I was feeling can be common with new boots, then made a few adjustments that made a huge difference. He even offered that if it still doesn't feel comfortable then he can make more adjustments. He never made me feel rushed, and you can tell he really cares about making sure customers feel comfortable and confident. I left feeling much more prepared and supported -- highly recommend!

The last time that I came into this store I bought a pair of work boots and I have to say that I wasn't disappointed. The money that I spent on them was well worth the quality I got. This store often has the best selection of footwear in the area, and their clearance shelves are always packed with items. The other great thing about this store is the fact that they have a ton of larger sizes. I have to shop for a size 14/15 shoe, and I have never had any issue finding something here. The only downside to this store is the fact that some of their boots are a bit overpriced, but if you keep an eye on their sales as well as their clearance section, you will not be disappointed by the product you get.

I visited this shop early on a Saturday morning. I had gotten a tune-up at a bicycle shop in the Greater Boston area in preparation of cycling Vermont Route 100, and picked up my bike on Friday night (the night before I planned to leave). When I brought it home (and after the shop had closed) I found that my bike's chain was making noise in certain gears. I tinkered around with the derailleur to try to fix the problem, but to no avail. I feared that my Vermont trip would have to be cancelled. I decided to try to find a shop in Brattleboro, my planned starting point, and selected this one because it opened the earliest. I visited there early on Saturday, explained the issue, and immediately was introduced to a mechanic (I asked for his name but have since forgotten it, unfortunately). He kindly and patiently explained what he was doing as he went through his evaluation to diagnose the issue, and invited me to stand alongside him to watch and learn. Within minutes, he deduced that the height of the derailleur was incorrectly adjusted by the previous mechanic, causing the chain to rub in high gear. He made the correct adjustment and it worked perfectly. Amazingly, he didn't even want to charge me more than $10, although I insisted on giving him that and then some for his help (and for basically saving my trip). I love cycling, but I know that visiting bicycle shops can be a frustrating process. Many bicycle mechanics seem to delight in making the customer feel ignorant. Here, the mechanic was not only skilled and instructive, but he was completely without pretension. It is a shame that I live more than two hours away from this shop, or it would be my default for repairs. As it turned out, the mechanic's adjustment on a Saturday morning ended up saving my cycling trip, and the bicycle has functioned perfectly since.

They'll never do any work without finding out if you actually want it done. These are stand up honest guys doing something that they love to do.
