Once a 5-Star Club, Now a Management Disaster Equinox Brickell Heights used to be a 5-star experience. I've attended many amazing events there, met incredible people, and felt proud to invite others into what felt like the place to be in Miami's fitness scene. The culture was electric, the staff were warm and professional, and the management was dialed in. But everything changed with the arrival of the new GM, Ralena. Culture Collapse & Poor Leadership Since Ralena took over, the club has gone downhill across the board: Men's locker room is consistently understocked--tissues, razors, deodorants, combs... gone. There used to be one deodorant per area, now there's only ONE for the entire locker room--which creates a super awkward situation as men wait around half-naked for basic hygiene items. Despite multiple requests over months, nothing has improved. My laundry service has returned other people's underwear, or my clothes have gone missing entirely. Wildly unprofessional. Guest Pass Disrespect The worst part? Ralena actively prevented three of my guests from touring the club, despite: Them registering in advance via a sales rep Being genuinely excited to sign up--one is even internationally known Me personally vouching for them after referring many past members Her reason? It's "high season." So apparently they didn't need the business? She refused to offer a tour, refused to honor a day pass, and instead insisted they pay an inflated guest fee--on their first visit, after they were invited. I calmly asked her to help us out, and instead, she acted as if we were a burden. All three left and signed up at another gym. That's $6K-$30K in lifetime value lost--over a guest pass. What kind of manager turns business away like that? Condescending & Rude When I asked her for her supervisor's email, she condescendingly said "It's exactly how it sounds." When I explained names like "Brittany" can be spelled many ways, she rolled her eyes, gave a sarcastic shrug, and refused to help professionally. Sure enough, the email she gave me was misspelled and bounced back. Intentional or not, it was completely dismissive and unhelpful. Sponsors & Staff Feel It Too I've spoken to multiple sponsors and staff members who have had issues with her, describing her as unapproachable, uncooperative, and cold. When your own team and brand partners don't feel welcome, something is seriously broken. If everyone has a problem with the GM... why is she still in charge? A Brand-Damaging Situation This isn't just a "bad day." This is systemic. It's the type of management that alienates high-value members, kills club energy, and drives people away--including potential new business. Equinox prides itself on premium experience. Ralena is delivering the opposite. Until something changes, this club is no longer the flagship Miami fitness community it once was. read more

This is by far the most disappointing Equinox location I've visited. If zero stars were an option, I would choose that. I see that many other folks have had a similar experience. The front desk staff consistently falls short on the basics - warm greetings, professionalism, or even acknowledgment when members walk in. On multiple visits, I've also seen members talking on speakerphone and using their phones in the locker room, including filming or streaming, which is a serious privacy concern and clearly against Equinox's own policies. When you report it to the front desk, they do absolutely nothing and say that's management's problem to deal with. Many of the class instructors are not up to par with the excellent instructors in NYC. They barely even meet the minimum bar - The overall experience often feels like something you could get for free on YouTube. It's no surprise that most people appear to use this location simply because it's included in an All Access membership. For the price, this gym is a major letdown. There are far better fitness options in Brickell, such as Sweat440 and Core Yoga, that offer significantly better service and value. read more

What can I say as a member for over 7 years things have become only increasingly worse especially under the current management. Let's start with the staff at the front desk when you walk in no hellos no welcomes not even a blank stare as staff are often too busy talking amongst themselves and gossiping. Let's move to the floor people constantly on machines doing nothing but scrolling social media people in the cardio area talking out loud on phones in front of signs that say take it outside if you want to chat. Let's go to the locker rooms at times absolutely filthy dirty towels piled high, paper towel stacked up in the trash. Wet floors extremely slippery. What's interesting is you see management walking around in cute little outfits yet not talking to anyone on the floor never saying hello never asking how things are simply walking around potentially new members. read more

Was visiting Miami from NY and took an athletic conditioning class here one morning with Darryl - it was great! The facilities are nice and clean and there's a heated outdoor pool on the top floor, which was nice. Cons were there was no swimsuit dryer (like the Hudson yards location in NY) and the mat area to stretch was really tiny and packed the entire time. I hear this place is newer than the Brickell location in the Four Seasons. Overall it was a good spot to work out! read more

Love this gym! It's clean, the classes are so fun and the energy is nice as well! Scam artists, their sales person will put pressure on you to sign up and persuade you ( for extra $5 you get the Florida pass ) but he didn't mention it's $5 cuz it's prorated for end of the month and it's actually extra is $30. They don't mention it's an annual contract and they will take your soul to get out of it with penalties. Took them 2 weeks after I sent them documents that variety I moved out of the state and showed them rental lease and bank statements to finally end my contract and still charge for all these days. Absolute worst experience at a gym club ever. This place is managed and ran by massively incompetent people. Never park your car at the club valet. They will commit $1000+ damage to your vehicle and dodge all accountability. Management and concierge service showed zero integrity and accountability in helping its customer with the situation. These people could care less, the only thing I've seen any employee do is sit around eating chipotle in the back office and chatting. I absolutely love the Microderm facials, Peels, Skincare selection, they do Cupping and Bodywork Massages. The spa is on the top floor and has its own private bathroom areas with shower, direct entrance to cabanas and pool, outdoor deck and yoga studio. I prefer this location a million times over the one at Four Seasons with their bland, pretentious, and rude front desk employees that act and think they're better than you for some reason and judge you based on your looks. They have all the amenities you would expect at a minimum for the monthly membership price you have to pay and have some of the best views to enjoy, relax, and improve your mental health while taking a couple laps at their rooftop pool, sipping on water, listening to some music through your AirPods, and reading a book after taking an intense group fitness class for 55 minutes. (Four Seasons acts as if access to a pool were an additional "luxury" you had to pay more for...lol absolutely ridiculous at this point). The instructors stemming all the way from high intensity workouts to the more low key versions of yoga are absolutely wonderful, kind, and professional. They seem like they really enjoy their jobs and what they do overall and that kind of vibe is contagious in a positive way. The ONLY thing I criticize and hopefully I can petition for change is the parking policy where they "validate" but you still have to pay $3 for parking every time you visit the gym. For those of us that live in Downtown Miami but nowhere near enough to walk or bike (and have to drive), that daily payment on top of the already pricy membership really adds up. I really hope they can reconsider their partnership with them to find a way to ensure us members don't have to pay for parking at all, especially since the other Equinox gyms in Miami validate parking entirely (at the Coral Gables, Four Seasons hotel, Miami Beach locations). read more

I'm also a resident at Brickell Heights. I used to love going to the gym. It was what I looked forward to at the end of my workday. But now, I honestly dread it. The manager Joe is a great guy, but the rest of the staff at this location are really sassy and have so much attitude. I'm sure there's a lot of pressure for regulations and I'm really glad they are in place. However, that doesn't make it okay to disrespect customers. For positions that should center around customer service: I feel only policed! I've tried making it a point not to work out at certain times of the day--in order to avoid specific employees; because their abrasive energy gets really uncomfortable... Russel is a prime example. At first I was wary of posting here, because I thought I'd be treated worse. Then, I realized how big of an issue that was in and of itself. I shouldn't be concerned about not being treated well at a facility that's supposed to be offering me the "EQ" experience. I repeatedly come here and have problems getting my car from valet. I've had to wait up to 30 minutes multiple times while i watch other people get their car ahead of me. They even once turned me away stating that they were too full for my car. I've been late multiple times to places just waiting for the valet. This Equinox gym falls very short of expectations. It's unfortunate that there aren't more options in the area, and while this is considered the nicest one, it is poorly managed - especially given the price. The attitude of the staff is terrible and was apparent the first day I went to check it out to possibly become a member - they were refusing to let me try the gym for a day before committing to a membership which was odd. The women's locker room, sauna, steam room, and showers are nice but the gym itself is just average. There is no parking for cars (you can valet next door) nor is there parking area for scooters/bikes anywhere nearby. The Equinox staff will CUT THE LOCK and take it, which is showing complete disregard for personal property. When you inquire with them about your scooter missing you are met with a clueless unapologetic response. It's puzzling for a downtown location not to have adequate scooter/bike parking considering that SO many people that live in the immediate area use some other rolling form of transportation. My sole interaction with the management was with Nikki who reflected a concerning lack of morale and competence which wasn't a surprise. I joined Equinox Brickell Heights in May after 2 years of suffering through the horrid disgusting conditions of the LA Fitness "Signature Club" in Brickell. Equinox has exceeded my every expectation and made working out enjoyable again. I should emphasize that Equinox is a holistic wellness center and not just a "gym." This is what accounts for the high monthly cost. I usually go 5-6 days a week and alternate weightlifting with yoga and cardio. For strength training, I am highly impressed with the quality of the free weights and machines, which are very well balanced and made of good quality materials. I had never tried yoga before Equinox but I cannot imagine my week without it now. It has been life changing. Not only have I improved my balance with it, I'm also much more in tuned with my body, emotions, and thoughts. I must also compliment the men's locker room and showers, which are as clean as a surgical bay. Finally, the staff are terrific. The front desk folks and membership coordinators are extremely friendly and make an effort to know who you are. The fitness instructors are sensitive to your needs and have uplifting positive attitudes which help you maintain your motivation. It's very obvious to me I made a great choice to join this club! read more

I visited this Equinox facility for the first time. I am a member at a different location in a different city. Sophia and Joel were at the reception area. They were super friendly and warm in receiving me as a guest. The facility is on 3 levels. Lighting is bright, space is clean including women's locker room, and the club is great! I look forward to coming to Miami in the future and including another visit to this gym. Next time I'll bring my swimwear and enjoy the outdoor pool. read more

I'm giving this place 3 stars because this location has the most beautiful yoga studio with the most beautiful view, but because of their parking situation I must advise you to stay away. Parking is $3 every single time you want to park here, so on top of the Equinox membership you also have to pay parking. I have no problem paying a small tip, but the drivers take over 45 minutes to bring out your car. This is absolutely ridiculous and for a luxury gym, this should not happen. The bad is the horrible class schedule, the smaller bathrooms (no steamer for clothing either) and how all the staff just hover around and not help at all. Had to wait forever for this new location to be opened but well, it's here now ! This new location is good if you are within walking distance or can use alternatives ways of transportation besides your car. They don't have their parking space, so you'll have to valet every time at Brickell heights which will cost you $3 plus tip everyone you go. There is parking available on the street but is very limited. The gym is very nice, of course, all in here is brand new so we will have to wait how it looks like in 6 months from now. There are 3 levels; 7 floor which is reception area, sales offices, clothing store, changing room and juice bar. 8 floor which they call "movement zone"; it has a free weights area, 2 Cardio areas, group class room, stretching area, weight machines and Olympic weight area. Lastly, 9th floor is the relaxation area with a hot/regular yoga room and a very nice pool with a splendid view of brickell. Also, they have a full service spa in house. Is it worth it? I think so. Their classes are unique and taught by very professional instructors, way better that LA fitness classes in my opinion. Gym space is not as big as one wishes but you can get the workout you want. Their installations are always impeccable and their staff is always helpful. Of course, There are always more affordable options, but you get What you pay for. read more

Love working out at Equinox Brickell Heights. The club is conveniently located in the heart of Brickell, just a few minute walk from my apartment. Although the monthly fee is higher than your standard gym, it's comparable to other niche studios (like a monthly unlimited pass at a yoga studio or a boxing gym). The weight lifting equipment is top of the line and for classes, I love how they have all of the equipment you'll need already for you - e.g. they have yoga mats and towels for you so you don't have to bring your own. Not many machines, and the layout is kind of inefficient carrying the same old equipment for more than a decade. If you valet, which is the only official parking option, not only it will cost 2 dollars plus a tip but the valet guys will sleep in the back of your car and put the ac on blast. - in case y'all need more info: every time the valet guys delivered my car, it took them ages to bring it. The ac was on blast and the windows opened. There were shoe marks in the back of my car which is ivory. The last time I was there, I checked my car app while I was at the gym and the car was on, same situation, windows opened and ac on while I left it off, why? so I wouldn't figured out that they were using it because the car would be freezing. read more

I finally took a tour of Equinox today! It's only a 2 minute walk from where I live. I was so fortunate to have met Natalie, one of the sales reps of Equinox. I probably would have rushed myself through the tour if it wasn't for her being so personable, informative and fun to talk to! She is a true asset to the company. I was ready to register for a membership until i found out that Equinox does not offer a military discount. What got me through the door in the first place were reviews I found online that indicated Equinox as a military appreciated gym. Natalie was sweet enough to inquire a military deal for me, but that did not work out in my favor. I am still contemplating a membership at this gym because I will live in Brickell for the next 4 years of my contract. However, with so many gym options around me in the area, including the gym at my place of work, it's hard for me to justify the monthly cost. The amenities are incredible, but I don't think I would use them much since I am only a hop, skip and a jump to the amenities of where I live. Equinox would receive 5 stars from me if it was supportive to active duty military. With the amount of hours/travel I put in for work, it's hard for me to justify paying the monthly amount at full- as much as I want to! However, if you know that you'll be spending at least 5 days a week at the gym with enough downtime to relax in the steam room or heated pool, a full price membership is definitely worth it at Equinox. Just be sure to ask for Natalie so she can sign you up and make you feel good about your decision in joining without feeling any pressure :) read more

I happen to live in Brickell Heights, so it's even more disappointing to write this. I used to love my experience in this gym. It is no longer an experience or an elevated health club... Currently, I cannot help but feel taken advantage of paying full price for a gym membership with zero amenities, inconsiderate and quite honestly chatty staff that are unconcerned with wellness goals or providing a luxury experience; the only interaction of note is having staff members tell me "raise your mask" in oddly authoritative tone. Mind you, I'm glad there are COVID considerations in place. However, I'm an athlete, and I should not be spoken down to that way while running at full speed on a treadmill with no other members in sight, or while holding 95 lb weights when my mask has naturally slipped down from grimacing. There is a huge loss in member priority, hospitality, and overall customer service at this location. If I did not live in this building, I would not even consider working out here any longer. As it stands, it might be worthwhile to drive elsewhere.... sadly. read more

I am EXTREMELY PLEASED and HAPPY with this gym. It's worth every penny. I can say this confidently because I've been in and out of many gyms over the past few years and this gym blows them out of the water! It is truly a luxury gym. The experience upon entering, being on the workout floor, the restroom, the CLASSES, amenities, the trainers (one actually helped me today), the wellness bar (oh and this maintenance team too!).. even exiting... it's just 5 stars all around! You can tell the staff is held to a very high standard, they are living up to the Equinox name and they are enjoying their job pursuing their passions! Girly things: the hair ties in the restroom/locker rooms have SAVED me about six times already and I'm forever grateful for that LOL. And the retail shop here is SO cute, I purchased a bra/legging set there from a brand I have not heard of at the time and I fell in love with it, my new favorite workout gear! A gym where I don't have to talk to anyone if I don't want to. It's in the heart of Brickell. Steam room is immaculate. I probably shouldn't be writing this review if I don't want to let my secret out. Nonetheless, most people probably wouldn't want to pay the premium to have the peace of mind that I have when i work out. I don't need to bring a towel, lock, soap, mouth wash or even a-tips! Great restaurants within walking distance. Brickell City Center is on the next block over... So you can earn the calories you're about to take in! read more

Love this place! Everyone is very friendly and the place is kept pretty clean. If you need a trainer, go see Brendan. He's great! Only reason for docking a star is because some of the cleaning crew tend to hang around the floor, which I love to see. However, I've had to awkwardly ask them to get off of the plate rack they're sitting on a few times while they wait for classes to end, which I didn't love doing. Some can also get a little aggressive with vacuuming right around me while I'm pretty intensely focused and lifting weights. Grand scheme of things, not a big deal. read more

Somewhat underwhelmed by the new Equinox in Brickell. Love having a new gym and all the classes and amenities; however, compared to the other Equinox's around town, this one is disappointing. Chopped up on 4? Floors and no real flow here. Go down a hall and look around the corner and there is a huge cardio area without any windows...strange. Place also seemed to be missing lots of basic weight training equipment. Glad to have them in my neighborhood but I like the Four Seasons location better. read more
