QUICK NOTE FOR THE MEN: Nic del Mar is primarily a women's…read moreswimwear boutique; however, they do also have a great little men's section! Ladies, read on... Despite the fact that I had no luck in finding a swimsuit here the other day due to my own difficult fit (although I did come very close!), I had such a positive experience that I just had to share it with my fellow Yelpers. Upon walking in, I immediately felt comfortable -- the polished dark wood floors and laid-back music immediately put me at ease. The merchandise was styled, easily accessible, and well-organized. Right off the bat, I saw several cute suits from the likes of Mara Hoffman that I couldn't wait to try on! Lyanne, one-half of the two-sister duo which owns Nic del Mar, was very welcoming. She listened to what I was shopping for, and pulled nearly a dozen bikinis for me to try (as well as getting me out of my comfort zone and encouraging me to try a super cute Shoshanna one piece). She was so sweet that I felt more like I was shopping with a knowledgeable girlfriend than alone in a high-end swimwear boutique -- she definitely knew her product and her market, and she was never pushy. I also give high points for their dressing rooms: First, they gave proper lighting that is bright enough to see well and give you an accurate picture, but not so bright that it's painful to shop for bikinis (I'm looking at you, Nordstrom). Second, the mirror is unobstructed and large enough to see your entire reflection, as well as hung at the appropriate angle -- not a skinny mirror, just normal and not horrifically unflattering (ahem, Nordstrom). Let's be honest, no woman really wants to see her every flaw magnified and enlarged in fluorescent lighting... As I said, this time around I didn't have any luck finding a suit there -- larger tops can be extremely difficult in cute suits. As also previously stated though, I did come VERY close, so busty gals need not stay away! Especially since they also have a great selection of cute cover-ups and other cotton-y goods. Side note: Yelpers who check in at Nic del Mar will be treated to a pleasant surprise ;) Lyanne also told me about some of the lines that she has coming in for spring and summer that might be a better fit for me, and encouraged me to leave my contact information in their guest book so that she could let me know when they got new merchandise to better suit my needs. There's also have an excellent online store if you don't feel like making the trip. All in all, I would definitely recommend Nic del Mar to anyone looking for a great swimsuit!

Literally blocks from where I live so decided to stop in for a new suit & cover-up for a beach bday tomorrow. Highly recommend!

The store is very nice and organized, all the styles are on display and the girls who work there are the sweetest. They helped me find all the styles I was looking for and kept going back and forth to get me different styles and sizes. I truly appreciated their help. In terms of the bikinis, they are great quality. Stretchy so they don't cut into your hips and thick enough that they don't outline your lady parts. Most are cheeky (which I'm sure is what you're searching for). I have 2 sets so far and I plan on coming back in the future. In terms of prices, yes you can argue it's a bit "pricey" for a bathing suit, but honestly you pay for quality. If you want a cheap bathing suit, you can go online to those questionable Chinese sites or to a local department store that has bathing suits with bottoms the size of diapers, your call. And honestly, compared to other boutiques, these bikinis are significantly cheaper.

About a year ago, a girlfriend and I were looking for swimsuit shops in South Florida. We found Jypsea Local and we were very satisfied with the swimsuits they had available in the store. The sales person was kind, knowledgeable, and very helpful. It's really hard for me to find bottoms that fit and this brand didn't pinch or make me feel like I was too curvy for their product. That day, I bought two bottoms and a top. Fast forward to this past holiday season and they had a 20% off sale online. I thought it would be a great opportunity to get a couple more pieces. I bought one bottom and two tops. As it turns out, one of the tops was wrong but as luck would have it, I was in South Florida (I'm a NYer) and went to the store to exchange the item in person. I met the owner and she was wonderful. We had a nice chat about shopping small and quality of swimwear. I told her she has an excellent product and I've never been so pleased with bikini bottoms. She couldn't give me the correct top because it was out of stock, but she gave me the credit and I bought two other items instead. I was still very satisfied with my purchase, plus I was happy to meet the owner at the same time. From skinny to curvy to even a little extra meat, this brand will work for you. If you are in South Florida, check out the shop. It's actually really nice and they have tons of pieces available to try.

The dresses were mostly between $135-265. Really cute bathing suits but they'll run you about $150 per piece or $325 for the entire suit. They are not on sale. Also the staff is not welcoming at all. I tried to make conversation the entire time and I was very friendly (southern) and she wasn't having it. She was very dismissive and just looked like she hated her job... maybe she did... Would go back again if they were having a sale. Very hit or miss.
