When I wanted to divorce my husband, I looked in the yellow pages app, and found that the firm of…read moreMacQuarrie-Hunter was close by. I went through the web site and when I read the biography of Sarah Morse, I felt a connection. Through the entire divorce process, I felt that Sarah was very supportive. She had very good advice, and the end result was a divorce where I got my share of the house, and walked away with my head held high. I don't feel that Sarah lowered us to robbing my now ex blind. She was extremely respectful to my ex and his lawyer, but she supported me and what I wanted. It wasn't a knock-down fight. It was respectful. Oh and the views from the office are absolutely amazing! :-) I felt it relaxing to take a moment and enjoy the view. With the divorce being so emotional, it helped me a lot.

We recently had our Wills, Power of Attorney and Representation Agreements redone. Deborah…read moreCharles, Attorney, Wellspring Wills and Estate Planning worked with us throughout the process. As this took place during Covid restrictions, a great deal of paperwork was done on-line, by phone and a few home visits. She was very respectful of all the protocols. It was wonderful having this completed in our home as we are both seniors and did not want any more exposure to Covid than necessary. She reviewed our old wills, etc. and talked to us about changes she would suggest. She charged a fee for this process and there was no pressure to update the existing paperwork. We decided, after this review, to update everything. She then set an additional fee for this stage and the original payment was incorporated into the fee. Deborah was extremely knowledgeable about every aspect of our Wills, Power of Attorney and Representation Agreements and answered questions to our satisfaction. If something was asked, which was not her area of expertise, she consulted with others and responded back to us. She analyzed our financial position as well, providing scenarios if one of us was deceased, what was left for the surviving spouse. Deborah is a very pleasant, caring and knowledgeable lawyer to work with. She was cognizant of the fact that these were difficult discussions and decisions we were having to engage in. It was a pleasure to work with her and we have a great sense of relief knowing everything has been done to keep stress to a minimum when one of us dies. We highly recommend her. Lorne & Gwen Buker

Communication was professional, and I appreciated the option for a payment plan at the end. However, when I requested a small fee reduction near the close of my case--more as a gesture of goodwill than a critique of her billing--I was met with a very rigid response. That, combined with some earlier concerns, left me feeling that the service lacked the level of care and client-centered approach I had hoped for. Others may have different experiences, but for me, the legal guidance didn't always meet the level of attentiveness I needed during such a sensitive chapter in my life.
