We went to Dr. Setzer's office for skin checks believing that it would be an enjoyable visit with no problems found. She did not like a little brown spot on my husband's back. Dr. Setzer did a biopsy and when the pathology report returned, we were shocked to learn it was a malignant melanoma! Within a week, the entire lesion was removed. leaving an impressive, silver dollar sized wound (1/2 cm deep). Amazingly, my husband insists the entire procedure (except the initial lidocaine injections, of course) was painless (until later!!) Dr. Setser's precision in removing the tissue and marking it for the pathologist's analysis was impressive. The pathology report showed that all the margins were clear. Six days later Dr. Setzer closed the large wound, again without causing pain. It has healed beautifully without major scarring. A very artistic piece of work in the opinion of the patient's Physician Assistant wife! (In fact, the patient declined to wear "Scar Away" tape to reduce the scar, so proud is he of the very neat "sigma" on his shoulder. Without her skillful and caring inspection of his skin, he would be today going about, ignorant of the malignant melanoma growing unnoticed on his back. Thank You, Dr. Setzer! Dr. Shannon and Bobbi have been the most excellent dermatologists I could have asked for. I struggled with cystic acne for years, and within months of seeing Bobbi, I was (finally!) completely cleared up. She was always helpful, kind, knowledgeable, and professional, and I didn't doubt for a moment that I was in great hands with her treatment. Big Sky Dermatology's staff is always friendly, the wait time is never long, and they work with you and your insurance to make sure you can afford treatments. Dr. Bobbi and Dr. Shannon have also helped me with the scarring left by the acne - the results have been incredible. I thought this was one of the best medical settings I've ever been in. I never waited more than 20 minutes. The services I received were very well explained to me and I never had any confusion with the treatment or aftercare plan. During my time with Big Sky Dermatology, I had the most wonderful of experiences. I had never been to a dermatologist and learned much about my own body. I will gladly return for skin and other medical reasons, and I hope to be a regular attendee in the future. From the old location on the East side of town, to the new location on the West side, things have always been great for me here. Dr. Setzer and team took excellent care of me dealing with Accutane during my college days. Never had any issues with correspondence and the friendliness of everybody from front to back couldn't have been better. The same goes for Bobbi, Anna and team at the new location. "Have a question? These people are the best! Dr. Setzer, her PA, Bobbi, and her NP, Max, all have extensive knowledge and training. Patients are always treated with the utmost respect and courtesy. Felt comfortable in the office and that I was in good, efficient hands. I liked that the office had snacks, but something to consider might be to get rid of the styrofoam cups for the water and switch to glasses or something similar to reduce waste.
