After dinner with a balikbayan friend in the Kapitolyo area, we looked for a coffee and dessert place to extend the conversation. One of our dinner companions, a Pasig resident, confidently recommended Epic. He also later told me that the cafe's bestsellers are its salted caramel drinks.
The cafe interiors of wood, brick, and cement give a cozy feel - and it's a relatively small cafe, too. There are also vintage decors, like the bikes in the corner.
I tried the sea salt caramel frappe, but found it too bitter for my taste. I was hoping the dominant flavors would be the sweetness and saltiness. I like the salted caramel ice cream better. If you have a sweet tooth, this is what I recommend. The mint chocolate ice cream is very rich and and chocolate-y. Those who like the usual milk chocolate kind of flavor might not like it, but those who like dark chocolate with mint, as I do, might.
