My family has been eating at Cucina Victoria for as long as I can remember, and when it closed in Rockwell mall, I was more than a little bit sad, because I knew it would be awhile before I could taste their Capellini Giaponese (angel hair pasta cooked in teriyaki sauce, furikake and bits of unagi. In a word: sublime), the delicious Callos, and the Clam Chowder that came in the sourdough bread bowl. Basically, their entire menu.
So when it opened again at the Aruga Hotel in Rockwell, I could not have been happier. The interiors are a tad bit modernized, but the collage of owners' family still remains, as well as most of their long-time staff. I'm really glad that the dishes I have loved for over a decade are still easily available, and provide me with a reason to go to Makati! read more
