Don't come here expecting a Safeway/Giant type of experience. This one level lower, like Food Lion. That isn't a bad thing, but the selections are not the same as those stores and I appreciate that. Sometimes, you don't need all that. The staff has been friendly and helpful to me. Always courteous. The patrons too! I have a blast every time I come to this location it's as if I'm a kid in a candy store. I come here to get stuff for friends and colleagues. Stuff like Piggly Wiggly branded merchandise and souvenirs. I just wish they sold Blue Bell ice cream! I've been wanting to try it for a while.

The store is small, but there's a lot of good hidden gems inside-all in bulk of course. Fred's has been around for a few years and my dad always shopped there and told me about it, but I paid him no mind. I ventured in there myself last year for the first time and whenever I come home to visit its a must stop before heading back. I absolutely love this place!

Harris Teeter is THE best grocery store in Wilson. This store is one of the only places you can…read morefind specialty vegetarian and vegan foods, ethnic foods and organic foods. It's unfortunate that this is the case, but it is what it is. the atmosphere in Harris Teeter is calm and pleasant. I can't stand shopping at any of the other grocery stores in the area because they are so loud and bright, and it's all just too much for me. It feels fancy in here, and that's because it kind of is! Harris Teeter selection is fantastic. I usually found what I wanted. This ranged from organic potatoes to curry sauce, Tofurky deli slices and craft beer. Their beer selection is small, but there is a nice little collection of options. You can find local brews here too, and I found that to be very very exciting! The wine selection is also extensive and delicious. There is an emphasis on Carolina wines here, and I think that is really important. As for people thinking Harris Teeter is expensive? Well, some products ARE. However, there are sales and great coupons to take advantage of. When you compare the prices here to the prices in other areas, Harris Teeter seems like a bargain basement. Then again, Wilson is a small town with a low-average income. If you are looking for something special, definitely come here. Harris Teeter is guaranteed to have great service, great food and plenty of options to choose from to make your meal special.

What I think I love most about this place (although there are so many things to love about this place) is that the store isn't so huge that your having to search endlessly for things you want and need. What a beautiful breath of fresh air! The aisles are just large enough to find what you need quickly and easily without being in others way and they being in yours. Isn't it awful when you feel all congested in one aisle and find it hard to maneuver around due the high level of traffic?! I don't know about you but I don't like feeling trapped in an aisle with a bunch of strangers that most likely feel just as trapped as me! You won't find that at Aldi's...which is doubly a breath of fresh air. From start to finish, I have always been so impressed by how this store functions as a whole, and it's prices and ease of shopping keeps bringing me back each and every time I need to do big grocery shopping! I have visited numerous Aldis in the Hampton Roads area of VA, Richmond, VA, as well as Rocky Mount location of NC and for the most part, all the stores seem similar (maybe a few different seasonal items at each location) but all around the same in every positive respect. There are times of the day it will be most busy....so if your looking for the best experience you will have to find out when the prime times are for your location. I went right before the snow...and well even then it went pretty smoothly...and that says a lot about Aldis for sure for those who know how crazy people get before a little snow!
