I called in the morning and asked for an appointment, because I was seeing a really big floater in…read moremy right eye and since I am very nearsighted, I wanted to make sure that it was just a floater and nothing serious. I was told that they don't have any availability and the next appointment would be in 4 months. All they could do was write down my number and call me in case of a cancellation (they never called). Luckily, I called another ophthalmologist practice and the receptionist there knew that a big floater combined with heavy nearsightedness could be something serious, so she gave me an appointment within an hour. It turned out it wasn't a floater, but a tear in my retina and I needed emergency laser surgery that same afternoon. I was told it that it was a good thing that I came in that same day, because had I waited any longer it could have turned into a detached retina. I cannot fathom how an ophthalmologist practice does not know that a big floater in very nearsighted people can mean a retinal tear or detachment and therefore is considered an emergency. I have never encountered a medical practice that did not make availability for emergencies or at least told the patient calling with such urgent symptoms to seek medical help elsewhere that same day. Maybe it was for the best that this office didn't have any availability for me, I have serious doubts now about their competency.

I decided on one pair and they said to wait 7-10 days but it was about 3 weeks before they gave me my glasses. I have called once a week, and they said no, on the third week when I called they told me it came it earlier but we tried calling and no one answered.. what... anyway good place but not so sure about the glass shop..

It's also the same building where I see my dermatologist and rheumatologist, and about a 15-20 minute walk from where I am, so really a plus. The experience here was pleasant. There was one other person ahead of me so the wait time wasn't bad. Dr. Cesaro here is really awesome, you know he knows what he's doing. This was a nice change from the other place I was going to (I will probably write a review about that later. Long story short, avoid mall optical shops at all costs). The person who had helped me select styles was Mary Ann, who also knows exactly what she's doing and tells you honestly what she thinks works well with a person's face. A breathe of blatant fresh air when you compare that to the sales associate at Lenscrafters that tries to push you to buying something that looks nice without regard to accommodation. Obv, I don't speak for all Lenscrafters, just from the experience I've had. They were nice enough to take notes on the styles that I kept in mind for later visits. I did eventually come back recently to try them on again but decided not to make a purchase. (really the price for what I had choosen was out of my range... $200 for frames, $130 for regular lenses, or $180 for poly carbonate lens which are thinner and less heavier). These were brand name Coach eyeglasses, not a big shocker. As much as I loved them I had to depart from them and call around for better deals. So, all in all great staff here. It would be 4 stars had it not been for steeper price range. Nonetheless great styles if you're willing to pay for the price.

Dr Thomas Lang is a great doctor and I have been a patient of his for 26 years. Unfortunately his…read morefront office staff in Providence is probably the worst and must unprofessional staff I have ever dealt with. In 2024 I went to the office for my appointment and was told it had been cancelled and they has called me to tell me that. They had never called and I showed them my phone with all my calls and there was nothing from them. Arrogantly, they told me I was wrong and they were right. Last year, I was having visual migraines and was told by my neurologist that I needed to see Dr. Lang, so I called to make an appointment. I was told I could not see him and would have to make an appointment with one of their optometrists, not what I needed to see. When I finally was able to see Dr. Lang on my scheduled appointment, I told him this story and he said it was totally unacceptable. Unfortunately, he has no understanding off what is going on in his front office. Finally, I have an appointment with Dr Lang in May of this year that I need to reschedule as I will not be in the state that month. I called to reschedule the appointment and they have told me that I cannot reschedule this appointment as he has no availability in any of his four offices for the remainder of the year. I asked if I could make an appointment early next year and was told that was not possible, yet my wife had an appointment with him this past week and they scheduled and appointment for her a year from now. . So I guess if you cannot make your scheduled appointment with this practice you can never get another appointment. This is not a way to run a doctors office and these people are as incompetent as any staff I have ever dealt with. Hopefully, Dr Lang can read this review and see what his front office staff is doing to his practice.

I went to all of my father's eye appointments and Dr Lang was always so kind and patient. He explained all of my father's problems and treatments so that we could understand. One thing that really stood out to me was that Dr Lang goes above and beyond for his patients. He saw my father on a weekend for a follow up when the office was closed because he felt it was urgent. I will never forget Dr Lang for his humanity, his kind and quiet demeanor. He is an angel sent from above. Thank you Dr Lang and I will definitely pay forward to my patients as a pediatric nurse.

He answers your questions. He offers options. He has a friendly demeanor that puts you at ease. His staff is very focused and precise. At my most resent appoinment I noticed how efficient the team was with taking care of a large amount of people productivly. They took me on time. The routine scans of the eyes and other measures were done swiftly and methodically. I spoke with the Dr. and he answered my questions to my satisfaction. Class act, professional, excellence.
