Go elsewhere! This guy knows nothing about sandblasting and…read moreis a very unknowledgeable businessman! He arrived at the project late because he forgot a ladder. He actually asked me if the homeowners had one on site he could use. Really? Who uses homeowners tools? After he got on site and set everything up, his rig broke down and he said he needed to rent a compressor. He showed up 3 hours later and said his rig was fixed but it was too late in the day to start so would be back the next day. Came back and he still needed to use the compressor he rented so apparently his rig was NOT fixed. Lie #1 He said it would only take one day. Lie #2 His worker proceeded to work on the first part outside and then move inside around lunchtime, at which he moved his hoses from the outside of the house through to the middle of the house and through 2 doorways. I returned from my lunch finding a complete mess inside the house at which he made up a story that I told him the areas were getting demoed. Lie # 3 (This also set off a fire alarm because he did not cover exposed smoke detectors) The interesting part here is that he brought "help" by which I mean one guy who did all the work. Michael sat in his truck for 9 hours while one guy did the work. He then asked for payment in full or if he had to come back the next day would be another $2200. There are many other things I could get into but this is already too long. This guy is a scam artist and I would simply suggest, if you are looking to hire this guy, DON'T! I hired another sandblast company that told me that this guy was amateur at best and I wasted $5k

Michael gave me a bid to strip the paint off of two fireplaces in different properties that I own…read more I wanted to use sandblasting because I wanted an environmentally friendly and gentle process. the dustless system advertised on his website sounded like what I needed. When Michael arrived at my home, he said that on my fireplace, he was going to start with a chemical stripper to remove the top layers of paint before sandblasting. He proceeded to paint my entire fireplace with standard Jasco paint stripper. The layers of paint became gooey and melted everywhere. I asked how he was going to clean the inside of the fireplace, and he said that blasting the inside of the fireplace or stripping it was not included in his bid. While the chemical stripper was on my fireplace at one property, he went to the other property, which is a historic home more than 100 years old, currently under construction and unoccupied. He did not protect the area or mask it in any way, and he blasted the fireplace so hard that all of the mortar came out between the bricks, and now the texture of the bricks is extremely rough. He tried to tell me that there was never any mortar between the bricks. Seriously? I am going to have to hire somebody to re-mortar the entire fireplace and probably try to smooth the raw brick, so it resembles what it was originally (softer bricks). The living room in that property is now covered with fine sand, which was not vacuumed up. He did bring a standard shop vac, but I did not see any sort of HEPA system as advertised. His process is definitely NOT dustless. I am currently also doing plaster restoration, and I know what the state of the art HEPA vacuums look like, and Michael does not have one or if he has one he did not bring it to either of the job sites. He also asked me for additional money to complete the job because he said it was taking him much longer than he had anticipated, and he would need to send workers for another full day of work. I pointed out that the second fireplace took him far less time than he had budgeted for. Around 6pm he told me that he was done for the day, and he left open buckets of caustic chemicals in my living room, and did not clean up the job site at all before he left. He and his worker tracked melted paint all over my concrete front steps which I'm going to have to try to clean off, he broke one of the pots on my front porch and a branch off of my orange tree, and did not mention any of these damages to me. He said that he would return the next day if he was able to or the next business day at the latest. He also said that he was going to cover the fireplace itself with a layer of plastic to help with the smell, which he did not do. This was very disturbing because my house was filled with toxic fumes in 80° weather. I was unable to run my air conditioning or fan because it was spreading the fumes throughout the entire home. The next day he texted me to say that he did not want to send his workers the next business day and that the earliest he could come back to finish was SIX DAYS after my original appointment (with open buckets of chemicals sitting in the living room of the small home that I am occupying, and a layer of chemical stripper sitting on my 90 year old fireplace). I told him this would not work for me, and he wanted to be paid full for the first historic building fireplace, which he has ruined, and half of the fireplace that he left, covered with gooey toxic chemicals. He did not protect the inside of my fireplace so I do have melted paint and paint splatter all over my gas, log set and the inside of my fireplace. I will have to replace all of the material inside the fireplace, clean the fire box, and I am now also concerned about running my gas fireplace because there is melted paint on some of the pipes. I have been restoring homes for 25 years and I have rarely had an experience as poor as this one. It's OK to make mistakes but it's important to fix them as well. Michael seems to have no pride in doing a good job or leaving the customer satisfied. I will definitely never contact him again for his services. I probably should not even have paid as much as I did considering the way he left both of the job sites but I will consider it a lesson learned and try to warn others that he is not a good choice for their project.

I called max Thursday and he sent me a reasonable quote along with his insurance, data sheet for the closed cell spray foam R30 under the deck. Usually you have to send multiple emails to get something scheduled but they scheduled it for the Saturday. The 3-man crew worked in an organized manner to cover everything fully. That is usually my biggest concern. They meticulously tapped down plastic to protect the windows and floor. Max was happy to resolve concerns I had on the roof vents before they began. They went room by room even isolating the foam with plastic enclosure so we could enter the other areas safetly. They worked diligently and cleaned up fully. It was a stress free and effortless transaction as it should be. I will hiring them again. Keep up the quality standard. It's essential for success.

When I eventually saw the huge dust cloud from my second story window I came down and stopped the sandblasting and called All Bay Dustless Blasting & Coating. I was told that they used to do dry ice dustless sand blasting, but no longer. I asked about the name of the company and was told that they can name the company anything that they want. I am now dealing with three neighbors who have complained to me about their cars, landscape and homes being covered in dust.
