We had an amazing three course meal, were given and entire bottle of local white wine, and bottled water for €68, a bargain for the quality of the food and the location on the Plaza Mayor with a view of the entire square. I had the beans-judieos to start. They were hearty and perfect for a cold day. They came with a pigs ear, which I didn't try and some sausage that was flavorful and went well with the beans. My husband had a nice mixed salad that had tuna, the usual veggies, and olives-like a Nicoise-tasty. For my main course I had the suckling piglet. I had wanted to try this local delicacy without having to order an entire portion and this was the perfect compromise. Extremely tender, with a crunchy skin and potatoes on the side. I enjoyed it, and I'm so glad to have tried THE DISH of Segovia. My husband had the hake and was very pleased with it. For dessert I had the best rice pudding in the world. It was creamy, with a delicate orange flavor from orange peel, and a wonderful combination of cinnamon forward spices. It came with a scoop of ice cream which was good. I think they could lose the ice cream and serve more pudding, but I guess the ice cream would be nice on a hot day. My husband had the regional, marzipan heavy dessert and loved it. The wine was refreshing and the bottled water came in a beautiful blue bottle. On the whole 10/10. Great food at a reasonable price (given the quality). Primo location and good service.

The roast suckling pig was excellent, very juicy and succulent. The dessert was outrageous; a marzipan and cream filled cake, typically not found outside Segovia. Although 34 euros might seem expensive for lunch, if you're splitting it, it's a great deal, it comes with bottled water, a glass of wine, and coffee. BTW, the portion of mushroom risotto was huge and rich; a salad may be a better choice given the richness of the dessert. The service was surprisingly good, they are very organized to handle large lunchtime crowds. On the main square in Segovia, what more can you ask for. Highly recommended!

Flowers painted in the walls make you feel like you are in an English Cottage garden. Crisp white vintage linens make it feel extra special. Easy to call and make reservations for dinner. Super friendly service from that phone call to saying goodbye after our meal. When we arrived we were treated so nicely. Menus are in Español but easy to work through with my Spanglish. A young man took our drink order - an excellent beer selection - then a young woman came to answer some questions and to take our order. The food was served in the perfect sequence and in a timely manner. All dishes were very tasty and large portions. Starters were a pumpkin & carrot soup along with an avocado, grapefruit, corn, hard boiled egg, green salad. My husband and I shared both with him eating the egg so the salad was now vegan. Mains were the veggie lasagna for him and tofu & spinach spaghetti for me. Both served hot and delicious. I liked the tofu grilled on my pasta. The two women checked on us, visited and treated us as if we were long time customers and so happy to have us there. Definitely recommend this place. Especially if you are vegan or vegetarian.

They do have plenty of meat options but they also have a very nice assortment of vegan and vegetarian options. We very much enjoyed the tofu dish and the chop suey dish, we also enjoyed the veggie corquettes. The prices are great and so is the service. Great find.

It was intended for those eating at their outside seating but they let me have it to go. The chinillo asado is the best I ever tasted with crunchy skin, fat, and moist pork with every bite. Really reminds me of Peking Duck. Absolutely delicious at any price. Sausage was a bit salty but eating it with the crispy fries was perfect. One of my favorite meals in Spain ever!

Fortunately, I was able to stumble upon La Bodega del Barbero, who offered a much more affordable option for me. The restaurant was very much a hole-in-the-wall. During lunch hours, it wasn't completely packed with folks, and part of it may be due to it being so tucked away. It is a small restaurant with limited seating for large groups and a bar area, and is away from the bustling streets of Segovia. At 15€, I was able to try out a roasted pork leg with fries, a nice glass of refreshing Tinto de Verano, delicious potato pie, and some toasted bread. The pork took 20 minutes to prepare, and it came out absolutely juicy and delicious. I was taken back by how large the portion size was for the leg- perhaps they were accommodating for my American self. Overall, really enjoyed my lunch here and am glad I was able to drop in for a taste of Segovia.
