I order absolutely anything online, including rare books they don't even have in the King County Library System, AND THEY GET THEM FOR ME! No joke, and I've requested some obscure non-circulating items from hundreds of miles away. KCLS copied it for me. We get DVDs. Pretty much anything you can think of. But the past few times, my experience here has been extremely poor. The staff is great, but the parents who bring smaller kids to this library doesn't enforce proper library etiquette. Every time I have come here over the past 6 months, there were screaming kids, unattended kids running around making a lot of noise. These parents have to teach the kids the library is meant for quiet learning and reading and should not create distractions to others. I wish the staff spoke up to the parents who are letting these practices happen. The nearby libraries like Covington, Maple Valley ones are extremely good in managing the noise.

You can take a quick stroll through or spend a couple of hoirs here. Black Diamond was a company owned town. Coal mining company that is. They owned everything. Miners came from all across Europe to mine coal here. Welsh, Croation, Italian and many more. The company eventually closed and sold the property. Many of the shops in business during the company days are still here and many decendants of those miners live here still. Exhibits include local history, mining history, day to day items. Just so much information. We spend a fair amount of time looking through the several rooms and speaking with the volunteers. They have so much information to impart and were all lovely. Parking is street side, just past the museum. Be sure to check out the out building and the memorial garden as well. If you are really keen, drive down the hill and check out the Union Stump memorial. Definitely worth a stop to learn the local history. Open Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

I was advised that Muckleshoot, Live Nation, or Ticketmaster didn't check the cards. They didn't care as long as you had a placard! So I asked for a refund, as I was not going to be able the walk the distance. They laughed at me and said go through Ticketmaster or Live Nation. Neither one will give me a refund, but they will not even allow me to resell! Muckleshoot and Sam Hunt along with both Live Nation and Ticketmaster are not ADA compliant or care if you are ADA!

America did terrible things to many people, but the story of what they did to indigenous people is a scar on the soul of our forefathers. I'm glad that somethings have been done to amend our crimes, but so much needs to be done to help heal these wounds. My love and prayers go out to you all.
