I admit I CAN'T resist! I LOVE to rummage through boxes and tables of boxes. You will find me standing, sitting on the ground, sometimes crawling and pushes boxes full of treasures! Not only do I find great treasures, but it all comes with a GREAT price! Now, that's saving peeps! I feel great recycling, finding treasures for others and myself and giving books to the non-profits and their customers... funny... I've met a LOT of peeps who LOVE books like me!

On the occasions that I come in without a book in mind, the shelves are very well organized and the staff are very friendly! Since Covid, they have made it easy and safe to pick up books and I am in LOVE with the surprise bags!! So far I have gotten 2 biography bags, one fantasy and one horror. They were out of the horror one so the librarian asked if I had a minute so she could make one for me. She was super quick and I loved the books I got. Great selection, great service!!

The building itself is pretty spacious, but you can tell some of the facilities are on the older side. The restroom was out of order during my visit, and overall the space felt a little dated. What really stood out, though, was the staff. I watched three different librarians patiently help someone with a computer issue for almost an hour, which honestly says a lot about how dedicated and kind they are. Even with the older interior, the service here makes this library a solid community spot.

I then checked in at the office and was given a 108-minute wait time through their outdated sign-in system. After waiting over an hour with no update or email (despite a sign stating that we would receive one upon check-in), I asked about my place in line. I was told they couldn't help me. When I asked again about the missing email confirmation, I was told I'd need to sign in again and start my wait all over, essentially wasting the hour I had already spent. At every step it felt like I was hitting intentional barriers rather than being helped. The lack of communication, transparency, and empathy for students -- many of whom are juggling jobs and classes -- is unacceptable. This office badly needs a modernized system and staff who are willing to assist students instead of pushing them back to the start.

I understand certain teachers teach differently just as some students learn differently. The only reason I give it a 3 star is bc they tend to get political and push negativity about certain political parties! It's pretty awkward and uncomfortable when they get upset at a student for their political beliefs. Should only be focused on the study at hand, not education based on which party is best and hinting otherwise pushing you towards their personal beliefs... unless of course your taking political science and such.

I got the time slot we wanted for an all-day meeting. I worked with Pam Dally, and she was great. When we arrived to the room, the guest login and password along with the phone extension were written on the whiteboard for us for the desktop we were using for the presentation. I had asked for an easel which wasn't there, but after asking at the front desk, one was brought up right away. The room was clean. GRCC doesn't set up the tables and chairs for you, but it was easy for us to do that ourselves for the small group we had. When we came back from lunch, I asked security to unlock the door for us, and he was happy to do so. He was a friendly guy who chatted me on the way there. The place was deserted on a Friday. I don't know if that is because there was a break in the semester or what. It was very quiet, which was perfect for us. We had one student bang on the door in the middle of our meeting asking to use the pencil sharpener, which wasn't a big deal. The only other disturbance all day was someone's car with the bass cranked up so loud it was shaking the wall on the third story for about two minutes. There is a big parking lot on the west side of Kent Station, next to GRCC which makes parking easier if the garage is full. There isn't a cafe or any vending machines anywhere that we could find so bring food or go out to eat. The bathrooms were well kept.

That said, the store itself is spacious, well organized, and they have an excellent LEGO selection along with lots of toys and gifts. Definitely a fun place to wander if you like books, games, or collectibles. Nice and welcoming employees. If the café were there, it would easily be a 5-star stop!

Overall, the service here is always good. The employees are always willing to help and answer questions. I think the prices are pretty reasonable. I have a premium membership and I get a discount for most items. It's worth it if you tend to buy quite a bit of books.

The Scholastic Book Fairs warehouse has an end-of-the-year sale from June 14 - 28. Call them for…read moretime/details. What a great deal for brand new recent scholastic books! The warehouse is open to the public for 50% off all books and select books are only $1 or $3. Educators can sign up online to get a Fast Pass and receive a discount. They have a huge selection of non-fiction, fiction, award-winning, children's, YA, reference, graphic novels, etc. It's a great way to stock up on summer reading and classroom books. The books were organized by grade but the warehouse itself was not in any particular order. I would walk down an aisle thinking it had all the K-3 books but then come across YA mystery novels at the end of the aisle. It was confusing and took a lot of effort to find the rest of the K-3 books. They also have a section in the front corner where you can fill a box of any of those books for $24. The selection here is not as good and a lot of patrons misinterpreted the deal with so many advertisements posted around the warehouse but only applicable to a small selection. Don't forget to use your scholastic points to purchase! Overall, the sale was great, if you're looking for new and recent books. Otherwise, I would still stick to Goodwill or garage sales for collecting items to build your classroom library. I mean... I spent way too much time and money here.
