Honestly, he helped keep me on track with all of the planning besides his own responsibilities. He made sure I had everything else lined up as well, which was really appreciated. Not only did he keep the music going all night but he also did tons of background work to make sure everything ran smoothly. He coordinated with the photographer and caterer to make the entire event run seamlessly. We had to swap out decorations in between the ceremony and receptions because it was held at the same venue and he even helped with that! I don't have a single bad thing to say about the service. He was worth every penny. All of his equipment is very high quality and most if it is wireless, which affords him a lot of flexibility to equipment location. He is very familiar with all of the equipment. Not once was there any feedback from any of the microphones or complaints about the sound being too soft or loud. The music always flowed well from one song into the next, which kept the dance floor full and active. That is not just my opinion. He was also complemented by several guests across all aspects of his work, lighting, music, coordination and general helpfulness. If I have missed something, it is safe to say that he also did that exceedingly well too. My only regret is not getting these reviews done sooner. He really does deserve it!

I'm not going to lie, but I was a bit disappointed with some big deal things on our wedding because…read moreof our DJ. Matt seemed to have some great reviews that looked promising. When I contacted him, he had amazing communication, made great suggestions, and worked with me through planning, so I was hopeful about our big day. On the day of our wedding, he arrived at our venue early and made sure that his equipment worked, and he had a good "stage presence" because he was dressed for the occasion, which made us happy. He also did a great job following my created playlist for our ceremony, and he played everything on time. On the other hand, during our reception, most names in our wedding party were pronounced wrong even though I put the written pronunciations of everyone's last name on our sheet, and I gave him a copy of this well in advance. He never asked to meet us in person or Zoom, nor did he ask us how to pronounce anything. He even said our married last name incorrectly as we walked into the reception, so I am happy we didn't have a videographer because that would have been embarrassing. My husband's brother and sister walked into our reception as the first bridesmaid and groomsman, and Matt called Jackie (my husband's sister), Jessica, so not only did he call me (the bride) Jessica but he also called her by my new married name. During our reception, he was very nice to my husband and I, but he didn't really announce much and didn't say anything or update the playlist to get the crowd moving. As someone who has been to plenty of weddings after having mine, normally DJs will make flexible changes to get the crowd dancing and they will also say things to get everyone on their feet. Sure, there were certain times we had tons of people on the dance floor, but many times, it seemed bare. Many people told me they requested songs, but he never played any unless I personally went up to him and requested them; my mom even told him that she was the mother of the bride and wanted to play a song he never played. I did have a "Do Not Play List" of 2 songs, but I never said I didn't allow people to request songs, so that was very disheartening to hear. He also cut our first dance song and my father/daughter dance a bit too quickly before they were 100% over, which made me sad. I realize many DJs like doing this to save time, but he didn't ask us beforehand if we wanted that, and I didn't know that I was supposed to request the full song to be played. The dances all just seemed extremely rushed, one after another without any breaks in between, and they slowly faded right before he announced the next dance to start. Although there were some things I would definitely change, there were some memorable positives, as well. His company was able to provide us with a photobooth, which was a huge hit, so I am glad we added that into our celebration, and it wasn't too expensive. He played many songs that were on the list of songs we asked him to play, and he was very nice when we actually met him in person. As I stated above, he did a wonderful job at our ceremony, the sound for everything was great, and he was professional with his attire and with how early he arrived. He was even flexible with staying a bit later when some of the timing changed, and his communication when planning our event and booking him was great.

We spent over $3000 for lighting and a DJ and I honestly could have had a better experience by making a playlist on my iPhone and hooking it up to a speaker. Chris was rude to one of my guests who was helping my videographer set up a slow motion video booth. He was most likely bitter that I had not chosen his ridiculously expensive photo booth option. My friend, who helped me hire the videographers, essentially gave me the slow motion video booth as a wedding gift, and Chris acted like he stole money from him. The worst part of the night wasn't the fact that he was rude to a guest, nor was it his lack of enthusiasm when doing any sort of announcement, and it honestly wasn't even that he couldn't follow rules that he specifically outlined with regards to the playlist (why would you play a song that I specifically requested to NOT to play)...it was the fact that the dj that I spent a good portion of my budget on LEFT the dj booth WITH HIS ASSISTANT to go outside and smoke! Now Chris will claim that he "set up a playlist" but I can tell you, and my guests can confirm, that whatever "playlist" he created was just a loop of Whitney Huston "I wanna dance with somebody". After the second time it played, (mind you, he or his assistant have not come back to check on their dj booth) one of my guests tried to simply hit "next" on his computer. Then the song started skipping. All the while, Chris and his assistant were nowhere to be found. I couldn't believe it. To make matters worse, Chris continued to screw things up for the rest of the night, replaying not songs that had already played, playing songs that weren't even on our list, etc. Do not give this man your money! You will not be satisfied. Horrible horrible horrible.

The wrong song was played for the groom and mother dance then played later in the evening then blamed it on us (when the correct song is on the dj paperwork that we gave him) the reception entry names were mixed up when we discussed it the night before the wedding. The music was extremely quiet for reception entry. They played the father daughter dance for the guests after my dad and I had danced to it. They were denying guest requests. the cherry on top is yelling at my guests across the room (when there was a microphone literally at the dj stand) then stating there was yelling because there was no mic. The dj also got up to eat before the parents of the bride and groom even ate. We are extremely disappointed in the lack of professionalism as promised. Please please please reconsider using them as a service

Chris proved he's a seasoned pro and a really nice guy! He was on time, and despite typical pre-party chaos, he was calm and unobtrusive as he set up before guests arrived. He knows his stuff and interpreted my musical suggestions and tastes perfectly. When guests finally got up the courage to start singing, Chris handled the many requests without any fuss. He was also able to modulate keys of different songs for singers who needed a song in a higher or lower pitch. That was a big help for those of us who aren't exactly "material" for The Voice. ;-). Thanks to Chris for making my party a blast.
