I purchased many items at Dennis Uniform, some with vouchers, and some with my credit card…read more It took the young lady who cashed us out about 1/2 hour to enter my order into the computer. I asked her to read it back to me two times, and two times I caught an error in her sizes, colors, and modules. A skirt that I ordered never arrived. After 6 weeks I called the corporate customer service to ask for a refund, and calls were disconnected after 10 minutes and never returned. I contacted the Auburn Hills store and was told that the skirt was discontinued, and that they didn't know when its replacement would be in production. I asked for a refund. They told me they could only give me a store credit. I replied that they since they sold me a skirt that was discontinued, a store credit for merchandise that they could not sell me was useless, and asked them to cut me a check. They said they "could not," but would not investigate further up the ladder to ask for a refund. I only shop here because I am forced to. Fortunately my child is in 11th grade and I won't have to deal with them for much longer. If you can purchase your uniforms elsewhere, I urge you to do so. If you MUST order from Dennis directly, I advise you not to use the school vouchers. The 8% "discount" is not enough when they won't provide the unforms as promised and won't give you anything but store credit for things they cannot provide. If I ever have to purchase from them again--and I hope not--I will use a credit card so charges can be disputed.

One Yelp review? You gotta be kidding me! This place is one of Detroit's hidden gems. I just bought…read moremy third pair of overalls from here. (Let's hope I don't get wasted and forget this pair in the dryer like the last one.) They've got tons of Dickie's stuff although not nearly as much Carhartt as they used to. I like the Dickie's "cell phone pants" - thusly named for weird cell phone sized pockets in the right pant legs. It was only $15 for pairs in oddball colors, just like the last time I was here and bought an orange pair. I was tempted to go for a sky blue pair this time, but decided $40 on a pair of overalls was enough to drop for one day. They had a bunch of funky caps and visors by the front door, like caps with the old Pistons logo or Memphis ABA caps. You can also find socks, t-shirts and drawers here, though you might find them for a better price at Cheap Charlie's. How can you not love a clothing store that has an autographed photo of Ice T to greet you right when you walk in the door? My blood pressure drops when I walk into National Dry Goods, perhaps because I associate it with my personal cloak against uptightness - a good pair of overalls.

This place is very urban, catering to city residents, parents shopping for DPS school uniforms, and community groups buying screen printed items.
