Booked a last minute reservation online when our truck was at the dealer next door. In and out of the office in less than a minute, the clean and fairly new car was right there and we were on our way in less than 5 minutes total. I had a great experience with Enterprise Ukiah, which at this time is the only car rental in the county. I have been driving their cars for six weeks straight, as my old Honda is sitting at the service shop. The first rental was a 2022 Nissan Sentra. After five weeks it became inoperable due to a battery drain. The Enterprise office decided to send me their own roadside assistance, which arrived promptly and was free of charge. (The contracted roadside assistance is out-of-town and actually charges $$.) They got the car jump-started and off I went. The next day, again the battery went down. The office immediately sent me a new car, a 2024 Hyundai Elantra. No hassle and no questions. Later I drove the Elantra back to Enterprise for a tutorial on the controls, and I promptly got the tutorial I needed. All the service people were pleasant and helpful. Thanks, Alex. read more

They gave me a car that smells strongly of cigarette smoke, has a front left flat tire and is leaking oil. And it's been leaking oil all over my driveway for days now. I am very upset about this. They want me to drive the car to them 45 minutes to exchange it endangering the safety of myself and the other drivers on the road. This is careless and reckless behavior from a 'Manager'. They stated three times over a week period once the located a 4x4 vehicle. I did not refuse exchanging a damaged car as they claim. I was in a rear end auto accident that was not my fault and now for the last week I have not had a vehicle to drive because of these issues. When I asked for some kind of voucher to replace the lost time they stated"you're not paying for this." I am appalled and still without an exact time for the car exchange, with a broken car. I am also a person with disabilities and the lack of concern of care from this branch for the situation THEY put me in is absolutely terrible. Absolutely no offer to clean up the mess they have caused in my driveway from the oil either (it's a massive leak - possibly overfilled). If I could give less than one star I would and I will be following up with corporate and the better business bureau. I realize rurally we do not have a lot of options, but don't waste your time here. Straightforward check in with Ayla who took time to show me the particulars of the car. Both pickup and return uncomplicated with a half tank to start, returned same. Heather Matthews is a woman who goes back on her word and attempts to play ignorant when called out for her errors and lack of information. I returned a vehicle to a location she was the branch manager. She called me and informed me I left my cell phone in the vehicle. I asked her what could be done and she said I could pick it up. Even though this was 3 hours after I left the location and was half way to Nevada by the time she called. I asked what could be done and she informed me they could hold onto my phone for me. I told her I do not live in state, California; that I lived in a different state, Texas. I also mentioned it would not be able to retrieve the phone for a couple months until I make it back. She said "no worry we will hold it for you" and I have text proof of everything she stated. Now that I am in state and call her, she has moved to a more rural branch location. Which makes me wonder what happened to her job at the Santa Rosa location, I think possibly moved due to bad customer service. So I call her, she's at lunch and another representative told me she would call me back. Two hours later, and still no call back, some customer service? I call her again and she plays the most oblivious person I've ever encountered. Acts like she's never heard of me, doesn't remember my phone, and that I never contacted her about holding onto my phone, for which I contacted BOTH Heather Matthews and Jackson, last name unknown, about this constantly in December when they were located in Santa Rosa at the Corby location. To rub even more salt on the wound of my phone with 4 years of children photos in it, not to mention photos of them as babies which is now unrecoverable, no longer being held, because, come to find out, after I'm no longer a customer and likely outside the date of grace for a bad review internally, they just throw phones away after "1 month" Heather Matthews then has the audacity of telling me that I could of sent them a pre paid mailing label and their office would of mailed the phone to me. However, during the whole situation in the beginning when me and her were trying to think of a way of retrieving the phone, back in November, NEVER ONCE, was the option of a mailing label suggested by her or her staff. Now it's an option because she is covering her job and her reputation for this huge mistake she has allowed to occur. I can't even think of the kind of compensation necessary for all the lost memories thrown in the trash. It was two faced customer service and even now, Heather's failure to admit to mistakes being made and complete apathy towards my issue is appalling. read more

I see the other reviews and what I see is no patience. Look these guys are busy, plus only 2 at a time and if you're patient like I was, you get great customer service. So I reserved a luxury car, I called ahead and was told they were out. I could have gotten mad, pist off and even rude. Instead I took a calm and nice demeanor and guess what? They gave me a real nice SUV and they were professional. Steven returned both my phone calls, and was not only professional but prompt. First of all, let me start by saying this branch of enterprise is so unorganized. I made my reservation the night before with a pick up time at 9:30 am. I arrived at the branch at 9:30and they told be they wouldn't have a car for me until 2:00pm. They sent me an email, with a phone number that was not in service. Ridiculous! So I sat there for 4 hours waiting for a vehicle. Mind you they had a entire parking lot full of cars, so I booked the car for a week, my truck was at the dealership for service. The car they ended up giving me was disgusting, smelled like sour milk and smoke. The dealership ended up finishing my service on Saturday which was great, so I headed up to return the car early. I dropped the car off, put the key in the drop box. By the time I received my receipt, they had charged me for the full week! 3 extra days I did not have the car. They were not helpful, the woman was extremely rude! Please do not use this branch for no reason. Hertz has such better customer service! read more

To explain why we had such a good experience with Enterprise, I have to start with our terrible one with Hertz leading up to it. Hertz Eureka had given us a car with poor A/C airflow that we could not notice until we needed it in warmer weather (Eureka was in the 60s and we were headed to Sacramento in the higher 90s). This was about 3pm, 1.5 hours into our trip. I tried to reach out to Hertz via the text chat and by calling Hertz Eureka, but we were in a poor reception area in the mountains, so opportunities were limited. The text chat recommended bringing my car in for an exchange at Hertz Ukiah, and when I did manage to get a hold of Jessica at Hertz Eureka (after their closing, which I am grateful for), she was able to reach out to Hertz Ukiah for me to give the unfortunate news that they only had one car left that was already reserved. All other Hertzes would be closed by the time we would get there. Jessica recommended I still go to Hertz Ukiah just in case, but if the situation didn't change, our car would be forced to spend at least 3 more hours in 90 degree heat with weak A/C to exchange at Hertz by the Sac airport. Now, my wife and I might get cranky in that heat but could probably tolerate it if there were no options. But we also had our two dogs in the car who would be at risk of heat stroke. Jessica at Hertz Eureka offered me $25 off my bill for our trouble which I thought was laughable, considering we had just spent 2 out of the 4 hours of our rental experience in discomfort and were looking at 3 upcoming hours of much worse. When we made it to Hertz Ukiah, the situation hadn't changed and the staff there understandably could not provide much help. Desperate, I called the Enterprise in Ukiah and explained the situation. Despite their website saying there were no cars available and the fact that it was right before their closing time (5PM), the staff at Enterprise went above and beyond in honoring the details of my reservation with Hertz and even for a lower price. After picking up their car, I didn't want to deal with filling up the gas for our Hertz rental. We were exhausted by Hertz's lack of meaningful help. We dropped off at Hertz Ukiah after their closing, leaving the key in the Dropbox and made it to Sacramento comfortable and grateful for Enterprise's help. Much to my surprise, my bill came in from Hertz this morning with a total higher than my quote from Enterprise. For 5 hours in Hertz's defective car vs 48 hours. So thank you again, Enterprise Ukiah staff, for saving my family and I from a terrible situation we felt trapped in, and also not taking advantage of us. (P.S.) I found out after we got the Enterprise rental that the Hertz car's A/C is affected by the console software. Without a device connected, the A/C seems to work fine, but a connection (Bluetooth or wired) immediately reduces the airflow. You can go back and forth and notice effects right away. This was not suggested by any of the 3 Hertz staff I communicated with, and this was too late as I already had the Enterprise car. read more

This place has the lowest rental car place rating IN HISTORY. They never have vehicles available, and they are not too nice either. This is the worst example of how to operate a business that I can think of. This outlet needs VEHICLES! They need LOTS OF THEM. What part of "CAR RENTAL SERVICE" do they not understand? How many customers do they turn away on an average day? Why do you have to reserve a week in advance? They are supposed to have CARS FOR RENT! AND: Since they are located in a car dealership that is unable to service vehicles in a timely manner, the daily needs of Enterprise's customers change minute to minute. If they wanted to be successful here, they would maintain an inventory of vehicles that are ready to go, instead of maintaining an inventory of excuses why they are not prepared to accommodate your business. My opinion - I will take my business elsewhere, get my car serviced somewhere else, and forget about Ukiah completely, since they are too busy to help anyone... read more

We rented a van for our family reunion a few states over. After being charged a ridiculous amount for the van plus roadside assistance we were extremely unsatisfied. They say how clean they are and there was full pretzels on the floor and dirt on the seats and windows. Halfway through our trip we noticed a hole in the tire and we called them to ask them for assistance and they basically turned us away told us We would have to figure it out and they were busy so a local place in salt lake was more helpful. It shook and rattled and the door stopped working. Never going to rent from them again. Terrible costumer service and terrible product. Only positive was we safely made it there and back. This year, in trying to reduce my carbon footprint and increase my exercise, I switched to bicycle + bus + rental car. Enterprise rental is my go-to rental, because I can get there using public transport, and they have affordable rates. Because I'm a "frequent-flier" (I rent every Wednesday and 1-2 weekends/month), I interact with the staff and the fleet every week. I'm impressed by their friendliness, their flexibility, and their willingness to learn from mistakes. It's not easy operating a rental car agency in a remote county like Mendocino, especially when the lack of substantial public transport options result in many one-way rentals diverting their fleet southward. I couldn't do my work without Enterprise. We can only hope their local offices not only stay, but grow. read more

I had an issue with my Enterprise rental car a couple weeks ago and was able to talk to Adriene, the manager, and resolve it on the phone which was a huge relief. I was recently rear-ended and needed a car while mine was being worked on at G&C. My whole experience at Ukiah Enterprise was excellent. The payments had been arranged through the other driver's insurance so all I had to do was pick up the car and drop it off. I even got a ride back to G&C when my car was done. Horrible! Never use them again. Would give a zero if I could. They scammed me by telling me I had a bunch of body damage, that one I did not do and two when the person checked the car out went I returned it said nothing about any issues. On to any company but these folks. The people might be okay, but the company is horrid. Did i mention I was worried about the crack in the windshield I forgot to take a picture of before i left the lot, I though I was screwed on that, ends up they never even mentioned that is their case against me. This place deserves - 10 stars. When is it the customers responsibility to service your vehicles? My husband has a rental car 20 days out of each month. First off your company tried to bill him for a ticket in in Southern, CA. Where he never was at. Then you flat out lie to our faces in Texas. Now this car we picked up had a slow leak in the tire from the get go. We have been feeling it up every couple of days. They told my husband to take into the ukiah store for another car. It is Saturday. My husband brought in this morning and they told him to service it. Really! You are lucky I was not with him. Unprofessional, disrespectful service is what I call that. It is not my husbands job to service your cars. It is your own job! Proper business ethics is to switch cars with him then fix it yourself. Specially when it was like this at the start of the rental period. My husband has such little time. He is on call 24/7 when he is in your town. I have watched him miss meals just to choose sleep. Now he gets to miss both. I will add this to the list how rude your company is. At least the place he picks up the car would never treat him so poorly. read more

Tried to drop my car off and was told I was going to be charged $150 cleaning fee Bc the car was slightly dusty. Guy claiming to be the manager told me if it took more than 3 hours to clean it was going to cost $150 cleaning fee and that he was going to have to drive it to Petaluma to get it detailed. Car was basically just as dirty when I picked it up. Spent $2.00 and 10 mins at the car wash to clean the inside out my self. Terrible customer service and very rude/unfriendly read more

The motel owner, in an unusual offer of generosity, gave me a ride from Willits to Ukiah so that I could pick up a rental car THAT I RESERVED. Horrible, reserved a car 9 days ahead of time , when I got there, wow , no car available, so I waited patiently. an hour later they had a car return, but wait, it now needs an oil change so an hour later it's almost ready, first they need to clean( sort of) it. Then i get on the freeway already an hour late for work and low and behold the gas tank isn't even full. Made a confirmed reservation for a 15 passenger van April 27, 2017. Planned to use it for the Lake County Wine Adventure May 20th and 21st. Then today, May 9th, I received a voice message from someone named Daryle, that he was sorry, but could no longer honor the reservation. According to his excuse, A (more important) corporate account had reserved the ENTIRE fleet in all of Northern Calif. Really? I find that unacceptable. Kiss the ass of a corporation and shit on the little guy. Apparently my money isn't green enough. I can't help but wonder if they are taking business lessons from Trump. Horrible, horrible service--talk about not understanding your own business model-- "we'll pick you up"...whenever we feel like it. My husband and I were stranded in nowheresville, ca after hitting a deer on the 101. We lost a whole day after waiting hours for AAA. We set everything up with Enterprise but when we asked for our pick up they said they wouldn't be available til late afternoon (9 hours after this conversation) When I told him we were in a hurry to continue our trip he was unsympathetic, and when I told him we'd just be using public transit from the town we were in, 20miles away, he was hesitant, and just suggested we "be careful." Imagine my frustration when we arrived to find several employees twiddling their thumbs, really? No one could pick us up? We were also instructed that we could not drop the car off anywhere but their Ukiah location, so we'd be forced to return to the middle of nowhere. In the end my husband was told they would pick the car up from the body shop where our car was fixed, but at the last minute changed their minds and insisted we drive it back half an hour out of our way because they apparently have one single staff person enforcing the "we'll pick you up" slogan, and she was out sick. Thanks Enterprise for further complicating an already stressful and frustrating situation. read more

I reserved a full size car days in advance with Enterprise after coming up to Ukiah to drive my 98 year old mother and her dog back to my home so she wouldn't be alone for Christmas. Because I have no car here, I needed to pay for a taxi to get me to the rental agency, over ten dollars. When I got there, I checked to make sure they had a car for me before I let the taxi go. I was assured there would be a short wait while they, "got a vehicle ready." A half hour passed and a filthy car was returned by renters and I was told that was my car and they would clean it up. More time past and they then told me that the car had a recall on it and they could not rent it after all. (What about the people who just brought it back.) then they said they might be able to give me a GMC Yukon, a huge beast of a car. I had reserved a full size sedan and have never driven a car like that. I said I'd look at it and decide if I could drive it and whether my crippled mother could get in it. More time passed. Then I was told that car had a spark plug out and couldn't be driven. It was over an hour after I arrived and the place was about to close. They finally admitted there was no car for me. I asked for a ride back to my mothers and was given one by a sympathetic young man. So now, no car to get home no way to get my mother and her dog to my home for Christmas. I have never in my long life had this happen. I am tempted to sue Enterprise and this location in particular for this breach of businesslike conduct and the resultant consequences of their negligence. read more

I rented a midsized car from Enterprise Ukiah. My pickup was scheduled for 11 am. Waited with 3 other customers for 10 minutes before the poor girl came in the office from prepping a car. " So sorry", she said, " all of my helpers are out delivering cars, so I'm by myself for a few minutes." Waited patiently for another 20 minutes until her coworkers arrived, watching this young lady expertly deal with issue after issue,then it was my turn. Checkout was smooth and issue free. Overall wait time was about an hour. This is a bit longer than any other rentals I've made, but not the fault of the employees. This is on Enterprise. However, the next day, I received a call from the manager inquiring how the car was working out for me and apologized for the delay in checkout. 5 stars for the staff, but have to remove 1 for the company. I will not hesitate to use them again. read more

This started out as a one star review but one of the employees there, Ellen, helped bring it up a few stars. My car broke down and I had it towed to Ukiah Ford. Needed a rental for one or two days. They recommended Enterprise and since Enterprise was willing to pick me up I agreed. James picked me up (good job James!!) I Rented a small Ford. Not much pressure put on me to buy the extras and was on my way. Window washer fluid was low and so the car would give off an annoying announcement each time I started it, and a CD was left in the CD player from I guess the previous occupants of the car. The one star began when I saw I could have reserved the same car from them via the internet for $38.50/day plus tax. Even with the "10%" discount Alex Charnofsky gave me, my daily rate was about $54 ish /day. Approx as I don't have the paperwork in front of me at the moment. I brought this up to the woman working there when I turned in the car (Ellen) and without hesitation she took the difference off the bill. I will no doubt have to rent a car again some time in the future and lesson learned is to book ahead on the internet. read more

Do not count on this company, they will leave you stranded! When a company promises a car at a certain time, I expect it to be there. They even had me drive to the next town over (half-hour away) where I was told "we don't have any cars, I don't know why they would have sent you here." My family trip was ruined and I lost money on non-refundable tickets at our destination. All they said was "sorry." I will never trust or use Enterprise again. read more
