No one answers the phone, causing stress when flight was running late. Changes made from rental…read moretime of 7:00 am to 7:00 pm did not go through. Car was i piece of junk. Felt old and warn down. "Maintenance Required" light/message was on, which blocked the use of cruise control. Tire had a leak, which we had to hunt down a place to get air to fill it back up. I requested compensation for the inadequate quality of this vehicle. They agreed if was not good and repeatedly (every message included) said how important quality is, but only provided a very small refund to me. 5% of the cost of the rental, not including the repairs I was charged for, which I'm uncertain I was at fault for given the quality of this car. They clearly did not ensure I was provided a vehicle is tip top shape. First car rental that was much worse then my vehicles back home. I'll never rent from Avis again.

I had troubles with my air…read morebooking and called the main Avis line to let them know I'd be arriving early the next morning instead of late night. The counter closes at 2am so I knew I would miss my pick up. The 800 line told me they could not adjust my reservation because they were sold out of cars. I explained I was not cancelling, just picking up late, but that made no difference. A bit later in the day I decided to try and call the location at St John's directly, which I did. When I called I spoke with Kelly and she assured me that they would have a car for me the next morning and not to worry, what a relief! My flight arrived at 3am and low and behold, there was a young lady at the Avis counter checking in another group! Evidentially they were driving far and needed their car that night so the young lady chose to stay the extra hour and help them. I introduced myself and she immediately said, we were expecting you in the morning but I'm happy to help you now. Wow!!! She checked me in, and I also might add they had booked me as an arrival into the wrong airport so she had to adjust that, adjusted my rate, and gave me a nicer car. I've read a lot of negative rental car reviews from St John's, so I really felt I needed to share my wonderful experience. Thanks Avis St John's for helping to make my stay so wonderful:)

We drove around town, visited picturesque fishing villages (Quidi Vidi, Petty Harbour, etc) and spent a nice weekend on the Trinity Peninsula. Of course we only scratched the surface of Newfoundland and weren't anywhere near Labrador. We arrived mid-evening and were efficiently served by the guy at the Enterprise counter near baggage claim. I headed straight there before our bags came out and were able to pick them off the carousel as we were heading out. We also got a price break on our rental as our reserved size of car wasn't available, while gladly accepting one of the options they had left. The only challenge is that it's a long walk to the rental car parking lot. The walk offers some weather protection is spots, but it must be one hell of a cold journey in the winter. St. John's is on the small side as a Provincial capital, which means that it was easy to get out of the airport and to where we were going (our Hotel) fairly quickly. The roads here curve and weave a lot, which makes the drive a little more adventurous. Coming back and dropping the car off was also very straightforward. The car drove well and held all of our luggage with relative ease. My only quibbles were that our car rode a little low and it was a little noisy (tire-related) while driving certain stretches of the TCH (Trans Canada Highway). I had previously heard stories about low car availability and inconsistent service at the St. John's Airport regarding many rental companies, but I can honestly say that our rental experience was very good and went off without a hitch.

So, I took a Sedona on rent for a day from Enterprise St. John's, NL, Airport location, and the…read morestore employee clearly explained to me the damage waiver that I purchased covers any damage to the car. Yet, due to a little curry sauce stain on the back of the minivan, they charged me $150 for it. I tried to speak to the manager Jillian about it, but she started behaving rudely and told me that the damage waiver only covers "collision damage" and hung up the call. So, I called the call center and the first representative clearly mentioned the stain should be covered by the damage waiver, and that any damage inside or outside is covered. She said that I will receive a callback from a manager about it but I never received one. So I called again after a week, and was promised a callback again but still didn't receive one. Then for the third time, I called again and explained the situation, the representative explained they might be able to do an exception and refund this one and only time, and put me on hold as she wants to contact to support and hung up on me after 2 minutes. Enterprise showed me one of the worst customer support and I am being so helpless, I had to come up here and write a review for the first time about any company. They lie to you and steals your money. If anyone is using enterprise, I want them to be aware of their lies and not fall into their trap because the customer support representatives are just irresponsible and don't want to deal with issues.
