I used to rent from them when ever I needed a rental. However the past year the service and quality have been highly over rated.

This is the second time I have rented a car from Enterprise at this location. Jackie helped me to set it up through my insurance company and she was great. I wanted to post an update on Enterprise Rent-A-Car. While I was let down by no truck at the location, the minivan turned out to be a reasonable alternative, and they were able to discount the vehicle about $30 for the week. While the van wasn't the latest and greatest, it gave us some flexibility and overall we were happy with the experience. The staff was knowledgeable and tried to make the best of a bad situation, so, I give them points for that. I've updated my review to 4 stars. Thank you Enterprise. read more

Very much impressed with the service of this car rental place. They gave me an upgrade to the compact car I chose thru an online website without increasing the rate. The car was clean and easy to maneuver- a Hyundai Elantra. No extra charge or overcharges compared to other rental car companies which charged me too much on fuelling and early return of the car. Horrible. WORSE customer service I ever experienced at any car rental place, and I have been to just about everyone in Springfield as I do not own a vehicle and rely on occasional rentals. In the course of two weeks I had two bad experiences with this location, the worse being when I was told I couldn't rent the vehicle I reserved online because I did not have full coverage on a vehicle. Nothing indicated that information online, and they did NOTHING..ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do anything to make the situation any better besides offer me a much smaller vehicle. I have done similar rentals with Enterprise at a different location, so it just baffles me why the rules change for this agency from location to location. AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS!!! I do not recommend it at all, they stole more than 400 dollars in my face at the west springfield branch when they charged me 100 dollars for a deposit and when the car returned they told me I would return to my card which did not happen and they charged me 303 dollars more for surprise and when I claim they tell me that it is an insurance which I did not choose and then they tell me that the insurance of my vehicle will reimburse me which never happened read more

Recently I had to drop my car off for emergency service.. I was expecting to rent a car through my dealership but did not realize they were not offering that option during COVID. I easily reserved a car at this Enterprise branch, but then found myself stranded at the dealership, again because they had suspended van service because of COVID. Travis at Enterprise went the extra mile---pun intended--- to check on availability of vehicles in nearby Enterprise locations and then arranged for pick up at the dealership. He and Max, the agent who completed the transaction and got me a discount to boot, could not have been nicer. Their friendly, professional, helpful attitude turned a terrible situation around. So this past week and I rented a vehicle from Enterprise in Springfield Massachusetts, the first vehicle had a really bad stench of cigarettes so I had to bring it back and change it for another vehicle the other vehicle was am I choosing a Jeep Wrangler which I drove all the way to Buffalo New York and on my way there the vehicle starts doing the wobble of death just start shaking uncontrollably mind you I'm going 70 miles per hour where I almost crashed and died with my entire family. Actually happened two more times but I eventually made it to the hotel which I called Enterprise and the next day I got a new vehicle. I'm making this post because how can you rent a vehicle with a mechanical issue, of that caliber. I'm disappointed because I have rented vehicles from Enterprise in the past and never had this issue my vacation was ruined and it started with almost dying. Now we are all bruised up and I will never rent again from Enterprise. When I dropped off the vehicle the manager or employees was like so what can we do for you I said nothing because I don't want any discounts or coupons for the next vehicle I rent I dropped off my keys and left mad angry still disappointed still shooken up and it happened a few days ago. I was impressed with the service and help I received on a Sunday no less! I had issues with payment and it was because my debit card had a security lock on it. I was in a jam needed a car! Not only did they help me by giving me a ride they put me in a bigger vehicle instead of making me wait for another car to be returned. They didn't charge me and I was shocked at how friendly and honest and upfront everyone was! Not only did they meet my expectation's picking the car up but even dropping it off! This place needs help. Customer service is not terrible but they seem to be missing some employees. I have always used Enterprise on the west coast and this.location seemed to be unorganized. I needed a car asap because I was in an accident on Sat and had to get to work on Monday I got the car on Sunday. They were busy and had I get the car from another location. Car was not cleaned and had a 1/4 tank of gas. Too their defense they were the only place open on a Sunday and I was glad just to get a rental on Sunday and not have to miss work on Monday. read more

They were short staffed in Springfield when we arrived and we were on a tight schedule so I had to summon all my patience and humor in order to avoid one of my angry consumer meltdowns. We reserved a compact car to travel on the day before Thanksgiving, the busiest travel day of the year. When we arrived they had run out of smaller cars and offered us a free "upgrade" to an SUV. After we explained we needed a smaller vehicle (our destination guest house could not accommodate large cars in the parking lot), the amazing branch manager Nate made several calls and jumped through hoops and within minutes produced the size car we had reserved. I'm pretty sure he even cleaned the car himself. He completely turned around a dicey situation, with professionalism and a great attitude. When we returned the car, he remembered us and was cheerful and friendly. He even offered to arrange a ride to the train station, a service we were not aware of. read more

I am a frequent car renter, and I had to fill out 20min. of forms, despite having a corporate account. The car they gave me smelled of smoke, and they said I would have to fill out more forms to get a replacement. I would NOT use this location and instead go to the airport, where they also have toll passes. They had a minimal inventory, and the customer service was slow and painful. read more

I had reserved a rental car for a two week span. When I received the car, it had a strong cigarette smoke odor and caused a severe headache. Enterprise closed right after receiving the car, so I had to wait until the next day to call about exchanging the car. When they opened the next day, I had to wait 3 hrs until they had an available car. This meant that I had no use of a car for a full 24 hrs because the smell was so bad. There is no way that I should have been given this car in the first place! I tried contacting Enterprise over email. It has been a few months and I still haven't received a response on this issue. I've rented from Enterprise numerous times and am an Enterprise Plus Platinum member, and have never had issues like I have had at this branch. read more

At the counter we told the representative that we did not want or need additional services. The representative not only pushed for our purchase of additional insurance through deceiving methods. This is the second time I've tried to use the downtown Springfield Enterprise Rent A Car. The first time they didn't have any cars so I had to go to West Springfield which was extremely Bizzarre and this time I have an appointment to be picked up at 3:30 and the driver showed up at 3:50!!! When I called to try and get assistance I was left on hold for six minutes. I don't understand the lack of customer service for a company that supposedly prides itself on customer service. I find the service at this enterprise office extremely frustrating and not at all customer friendly. I'm certain the poor service is not due to the line staff but rather the managers and the company that has left this office ridiculously short staffed.
