I booked a Hyundai Kona as I cannot yet get in and out of a sedan comfortably since my spine surgery a few months ago.....or at least that's what the emailed confirmation stated - heck, it even showed a photo of a Kona! My Jeep is in getting a recall fixed and Chrysler very graciously offered to reimburse me for a $50.00 per day rental. When I arrived (and boy was I glad I didn't Uber, as my son drove me to the Lyndhurst location) it would have such a waste. ALL they had were sedans. You cannot believe the "take it or leave it" attitude. So, I asked the guy to call the Enterprise in Belleville to see if they had a Kona or another SUV available. The guy called out the number and instructed me to call myself, I called and "Jason" said sure they had SUVs available. We hurried over and when I arrived, the only SUV they had was an all electric Chevy Equinox that was totally out of charge (it was charging as we spoke). I received a call early in the morning from a young man in reference to a reservation that GEICO had placed for me. On the phone he was professional. I am guessing he wanted my business. I advices him that I will be at the office at 11 or a little after 11. In addition I asked him what model of vehicles he had. He answered we have many, you have to come in and we will talk. I arrived with my daughter at 11. He was busy with a female client and he was the only person in the place. After waiting for 35 minutes it was my time. I refreshed his mind on our conversation and she state we don't have any vehicles. You have to comeback by 3/4 to see if we have any. ‍‍‍‍. He kept arguing with me that I was supposed to call him on my way there. Mind you I told him earlier after 11. He was extremely unprofessional. Poor customer service. Gets you going back and forth. It's my 3rd time coming to this location, first time I got here she did not want to assist me since they only assist people with reservations. I called and made a reservation and took proof of address. I had over 10 different mails including proof of my insurance certificate. She tells me that's not enough proof I have to come back. I then waited nearly 1 month for the State Farm I'd to arrive but the only thing that arrive was the bill which it's a bill so it wouldn't be a problem since she also requested any bill with proof of address. The 3rd time coming to this place which is today I had everything organized with proof of address, they do not allow cash but told me I can bring the money on a card. When I'm there she tells me I can't use that card since it's pre paid I have to use a bank card. I go to capital one transfer the money from one of my cards to the capital one card and go back. Then she tells me I don't have a policy # and the number was right on the paper. She then puts some one else to deal with my documents and this person had no idea what she was doing. I knew from the start this person was going to give me a hard time. Boy I was right... She calls State Farm and they couldn't confirmed if my documentation was valid according to what the agent was telling them. Then she tells me only way she can do it is if they sent a copy of my insurance file. Then she tells me I will have to make another appointment and come back so I called my agent State Farm agent and ask him if he can pull up my insurance policy. I tell to fax it to them and also send me proof on my gmail. She then said who's that your talking to your friend, I felt really offended by that since she made it seem like I was doing a skeem. I felt very discriminated... then she tells me she can't help me. When I left... My insurance agent calls me and tells me to go again that he called State Farm approval line and they told me my documents were good to go. I go back In there and she said that she's not helping me since she thinks is too much going on. I just finished having a pointless, unsympathetic and un empathetic conversation with a manager that tells me, "me and you should already know what the bill would be and it still has to get pay". I have no problem paying what I owe but the rep said one thing and lead me to believe I would pay what I owe on the day of return and get my deposit back. I bring the car back and she repeats the same thing and leaves me waiting. I call them back. She says because I used my credit card it takes time and it will be returned back. Mind you I didn't use a credit card it was debt and I'm still lead to believe I'm going to receive my deposit. The manager explains to me where the deposit went. Doesn't acknowledge what the rep did and makes me feel like I'm demanding my deposit back. The call was pointless and I blame myself. His prep guy did not show up that morning and he rushed through the check out ... When I pointed to some of the chipped paint he remarked "Oh don't worry about that" I informed enterprise that I would not be paying for the pre-existing damage and their response was to send me to collections while it is not cost effective I have retained an attorney ..I rather pay them the 700 dollars than pay for damage I am not responsible for... What a wonderful experience. Krista is the best! The day I picked up the car was July 2nd, which was understandably very busy. No matter how bad things got Krista was helpful, and sensitive to the issues going on with all the customers. When I picked up my car, the staff was so helpful, and even gave me a discount because of something that wasn't even their fault. I rented a car because my car was being repaired at a local auto body, who turned out to be unprofessional and unscrupulous. They were all so sensitive and asked me what had happened and listened, which was exactly what I needed. Great experience by everyone involved. My car would not start whilst in NYC today while my husband was in cardiac rehab. My husband has pacemaker implant scheduled for tomorrow morning so I scrambled to rent a car as I did not want to risk my car not starting at 4 am for 6 am procedure and I had no experience driving my husband's SUV and learning under stress was ill advised . I called the Enterprise 800 number and they confirmed a rental for pickup at 4pm that day/today at Belleville NJ location. Twenty minutes later, Belleville location called to say they had no vehicles and cancelled my confirmed reservation and offered NO ASSISTANCE. I called the Enterprise 800 number again and they said the Belleville location should have provided assistance to me in finding an available rental vehicle. The 800 number rep apologized and said they escalated issue to management and someone in management would call me and help with securing a reservation for us. I underscored the urgency of getting rental vehicle. I waited 20 minutes and called Maplewood NJ location where I had seen a vehicle available via online reservations and booked a reservation with the Maplewood NJ agent. I never heard from anyone at Enterprise as of this evening. Worst experience ever. Whilst the individual at the Maplewood NJ location was exceptional and we picked up a vehicle at 4pm today, I would never call the 800 number ever again and will be reluctant to do business with Enterprise ever again. UNRELIABLE CONFIRMED RESERVATIONS AND THEY DO NOT KEEP THEIR WORD. I have rented from Enterprise before, but this has been the worst experience. After getting into the vehicle with the "salesman," we noticed that the tire pressure was low. The "salesman" said they would put air in it, and it wouldn't be a problem. Being that I had reserved an economy car and this was a small SUV, I asked for a different car. They told me there were no other cars available, even though my original reservation, that I was promised, was not being met. And they were charging me for the SUV when I was supposed to be under my insurance's plan. Anyways, they put air in the tire. The next day, I had to put air in the tire. I called and left a message to let them know. The next day, I had to put more air in the tire. I called to let them know. STILL no call back. The next day, I talked to someone, and they told me they would call me back and guess what? No call back. I called the main customer service, and they said to "show up" with the car. So....I had to take off of work to try to get this car traded in. I ended up talking to Lauren in the meantime, and she was wonderful. I got to Enterprise to trade the car in the next day after taking to Lauren, and they ended up giving me a car that smells, is stained all over the seats, and has holes in the rug. I have to change my heels in order to drive because my heel keeps getting caught in the rug. Ridiculous! I said to the girl (not Lauren), I cannot believe that you're even giving me this car right now. I cannot wait until my car comes out of the shop so I can give this car back. I had an insurance voucher from Liberty Mutual for Enterprise in Bellville, NJ. I was quoted one price24.99 including tax, but when I got there 15 minutes later they charged $30 including tax. This place is one of the many that has weekend special cars, like the one I rented to travel to Salem,MA on Halloween. Great vacation, great Dodge Charger 2016 for only 19,99 per day. Bad things are cum stains on the back seat which I noticed only after few hours since I rented it, was so excited about the car and never drove this one so that was completely immersed in studying it. I could understand a couple that rented it before me ,haha. But rental agency staff should clean up cum stains though. I don't want to see such things in the car that I ended up paying 280$ for 3 days. 100 extra is because I drove extra miles above 100 miles a day (total 300 limit) with 20 cents an extra mile. read more

I confimed my rental around 11:30am and was told to call for a pick up when I was home. Called Enterprise at 4:27pm and confirmed I was home and ready for pick-up. After waiting an hour, I called back at 5:22pm when the Branch Manager, Hakim McClendon, picked up the phone and quickly said "Enterprise please hold," before immediately putting me on hold for 13 minutes. I hung up to call back and the phone was disconnected. I tried to call back six more times, only to receive the disconnected tone. I drove to the site to find out what happened, and Mr. McClendon essentially said sorry we're short-staffed. Same nonsense on the return, I showed up THREE minutes before their official opening time, once again they are all standing around "having a meeting", and acting like that's more important than me, the customer. The same nonsense occurred when Enterprise had an office in Kearny, some female clerk made a pregnant woman wait outside in the cold while nonsensically claiming to be "preparing the office", which might be why that office is now out of business. AVOID THIS ENTERPRISE. IF YOUR AN UBER DRIVER LOOK FOR ANOTHER Vehicle SOLUTION. decided to rent from the Enterprise Uber section after signing up with Uber and not being able to use my car due to the fact that my car was a two door and in order to drive for Uber you need a four door vehicle. I was very excited to be a partner with Uber. Enterprise asked for a deposit of 350 dollars to start the contract with Enterprise and your weekly rental is about. 300 dollars a week. Everything was wonderful until one of my Uber riders made a false claim that the car had been in an accident. My account with Uber and Enterprise was put on hold until the incident was investigated, pictures had to be sent to Uber and Enterprise to prove that the car was never in an accident. I lost time from driving which means for an Uber driver lost of money. I was late with payment to Enterprise and i personally went in to the Enterprise uber office to make payment. They had me out of service for 3 days. To an Uber driver 3 days without being able to drive is devastating on your finances. Remember you enterprise car rental is 300 dollars a week. I went in and paid the full balance even though i could not use the car for Uber driving because they put me out of service for 3 days but as you can imagine this is going to affect me financially. Now i am trying to catch up on money that I lost from not being able to drive. Making my payment late and Enterprise once again deactivating my account. Now its worst. I have lost four days of work making this a no win situation. I feel as they set me up for failure. I was so happy to start with Uber and i truly enjoyed my days working for Uber but i am at a point of lost. I went to the Uber Hoboken office yesterday trying to figure out how to fix this issue and in the meantime I have Enterprise sending me threatening voice mails on calling the authorities on me??!!! Are these people insane or incompetent? Well Uber is reaching out to Enterprise on my behalf and where very helpful and apologetic. I feel set up for failure. How can you make payments on a car specifically rented for driving with Uber and making money when Enterprise deactivates your account??? Totally disgusted. As excited as I was to start with Uber and truly enjoyed driving, they have killed all my enthusiasm. I was not happy with this company at all!! I was forced to pretty much rent a car. After all said and done, I end up paying 375 dollars to these people cause of a so called dent that they found on the car. The manager couldn't even see it, she had to move the car under a certain lighting in order to see it. I could of gotten it fixed by professional for like 20 bucks! ( I took pictures as proof for my insurance just in case) I couldn't believe these people!! I made a reservation to rent a vehicle and was advised that my account was in "DO NOT RENT" status. Found out that they had my account confused with an account in Wisconsin. Took all day to fix issue. Then I was told that someone would pick me up shortly after 3 PM. At 5:30 I called and asked where they were. They said they were calling my number all afternoon and the number was disconnected. They were calling my mom's phone number which is not disconnected and there are no calls from them. They told me it was too late and I lived too far to be picked up. I am literally 5 minutes from their location by car. Carlos the manager gets on the phone and argues that I put the wrong phone number on my reservation which I didn't. He absolutely refused to send the driver with the vehicle. I cancelled the reservation and he told me to have a good evening. He was rude and condescending. They lost a customer I will never rent from them again. I went elsewhere. Honestly I have always rented from Enterprise and have always received exceptional service and Cars which is the main focus. This time was the WORST. It was dark when i picked up the rental so i didn't focus on how the outside looked. I did look in the inside and it was dirty i could barely look through the windshield because it had a sort of dirty film on it. I asked for them to clean it they said all we have is a napkins and so i began cleaning it they were closing and i had to begin my trip in the morning. so i managed to clean my side so i can see and headed home to get some rest. As soon as i woke up to start my trip the next morning i noticed some damage to the exterior of the car and found that the inside of the car was FILTHY, DISGUSTING STAINS on the back seat and dog hair everywhere it was insane. The outside of the car had a filthy film on it as well WORST CAR EVER!!! Never again using this location. Won't be using Enterprise from now on. read more

Customer service is the worst! Called one day around 4:30 to reserve a car through my insurance. I was told they had one in the range my insurance would pay. Called the next morning to be picked up and I was told I was out of their area. I'm one town over. They are in Belleville and I'm in Nutley. I'm even on the same street. No, they won't pick me up. Strike one. I get a ride there to pick up my car. I was told they didn't have a car for me. I told them that I made a reservation the night before. I told them that I was told they had a car for me. NO CAR! They wanted to give me one that was $10 a day more. I walked out. Then I called the Enterprise in Lyndhurst. They picked me up, gave me a nice car in my range, and I was out with my car in no time. Also Belleville wanted $2.36 a gallon for gas and Lyndhurst only charged me $2.14 a gallon. DO NOT GO TO ENTERPRISE IN BELLEVILLE! THEY STINK! Go to Lyndhurst, they're the best! read more
