I had a GREAT experience at Enterprise in Mokena! Robert Kall, who is a trainee, was absolutely professional, patient, and helpful. He answered all of my questions and made sure I was comfortable with everything before leaving. I mentioned that the car was a little dirty, and without hesitation, he went and washed it! I wish I could give 0 stars. I've been renting from Enterprise for years. Until now. We rented a vehicle for a week and drove out of the state. When we picked up the vehicle, my husband and I went over every inch of the SUV with the employee. Every scratch or dent we pointed out, he showed be his Ipad with all panels of the vehicle, including the roof, marked red saying "it was accounted for" or "don't worry it has to be bigger than a golf ball or quarter". I then SIGNED the contract on the exact Ipad that he had when we went over the vehicle. When we returned a week later, another young man was working and when he came back inside from checking it he immediately accused my husband of "hail damage from yesterdays storm". He pointed out TWO dents that says were not there and were caused by hail. My husband proceeded to tell him we were in Florida for the storm. Showed proof we were out of state. There is no hail damage on this vehicle. Well, over a year later and although State Farm investigated the situation over many months and proclaimed us not liable, Enterprise sent me a bill for $1500 of body work!!! FOR TWO DENTS. They are coming after me personally. Now I am receiving emails from a "Dewayne Williams" from Enterprise Damage Recovery. When I email back, no response. When I call and email (multiple times) the regional manager, no response. When I contact Enterprise corporate and get their damage recovery department, noboday knows WHO this Dewayne Williams is. Cannot get me in touch with him. The reps I speak to say "nobody can do anything about this" and "it is what it is". I was supposed to get a call back from a supervisor and guess what, I got ghosted AGAIN. No call back. AND NOW THEY SENT ME TO COLLECTIONS!! They can ruin your life because its their word vs yours. What a joke. Do your research. Rent somewhere else. It doesnt matter if your diligent and careful, they'll still screw you. read more

My experience was very similar to those listed below. I firmly believe workers at this location do not receive customer service training, or that warm bodies are hired instead of competent and empathetic people. I was in a car accident (not the at fault driver) and my insurance company submitted the reservation. However, my parent is the policy holder, with me as an insured driver on the policy, and over the age to rent on my own. This location refused to rent me the vehicle and refused to change the rental agreement to my name without insurance approval. I am positive that this situation is not unique to me. I had called before coming in, explained the situation, and was told it was no problem to change the reservation to my name. When I get there, it was a different person I was dealing with than who I spoke to on the phone, didn't even greet me when I entered the location. It was like a 10 sec. awkward stare off before I said something first. They couldn't even be bothered to stand up to speak to me and when I started to get frustrated at the situation (after speaking to a manager and could not be provided with enterprises written policy about naming on the reservation), the associate kept trying to get the last word in, from across the room and their only response they could provide was "ok, but you don't have to be rude". This is comical to me as I was being direct, stating that this shouldn't be a problem that I'm an insured driver on the policy and the only resolution was dragging my parent down to the location to complete / pick up the rental, which wasn't an option or reasonable solution. Also, if I was treated like a normal customer by this associate and wasn't being talked back to from across the room, this conversation would have been completed different. At the end, I said, "I wasn't being rude just direct and that I tried to end the conversation several minutes ago, but you just wanted to talk back from across the room and try to get the last word in. Thank you for ALL the help you've provided today." Again, the associate said, "ok, but you don't have to be rude". I laughed and left before calling my insurance company. Clearly he couldn't let this go and can't handle a direct woman. I did need to go back in to get the phone number for their guest service and confirm names of everyone I spoke to, another associate helped me with that. I turn around to leave, the same male associate from before was blocking my path to the door, I said "excuse me please " and "thank you", as I walked around this associate, who didn't even move out of the way, to which I received a disgusted look. Confirming the previous experience that this associate is incapable of respecting women. In this situation, not being treated like a valued customer or receiving any solution based customer service (they didn't offer to call insurance and made everything a "me" problem), is just simply poor customer service. I ultimately requested that my insurance change the reservation to a competitor. When I told them about my experience, they agreed that the enterprise associates I dealt with were out of line. I have provided feedback to my insurance carrier and local agent not to partner with this location, and will happily continue to provide this feedback. This place is just unprofessional, incompetent, lack luster, sexist, un empathetic, and simply doesn't deserve anyone's business. read more

Where do I start with this dump? Well, let's see... They lie about EVERYTHING. I was rear-ended and decided to bypass any mention of it with my Insurance Co and go through the guy who hit me. Enterprise was fine with that but wanted $325 to "Hold" from a credit or debit card, assuring me that it wouldn't even show up. Well, an hour later, my checking account was down $325.00. How did that happen? No one could tell me. Also--they NEVER have the car you want. They would however, be happy to upgrade you at no charge, (HA!! Good one. It will be weeks before you see a refund or get the initial "Hold" charge back.). Want to talk to the manager or file a complaint? Good luck. The employee turnover here is like a revolving door. Need a car? You're better off walking than to walk into this comedy of errors. read more

What a joke. I called to reserve a car and was very specific about the out-of-pocket cost I approved. My husband goes to pick up the vehicle and they upsell with no knowledge on his part because I had called to arrange it, thinking that they would be honorable and live up to what was agreed. After discussing with Management, there is nothing they will do to make good on an agreement. read more

If you rent with a debit card, they will take a $50 deposite and then come up with some bs excuse why they won't give it back when you return the vehicle. I rent cars from the Enterprise in Mokena about 4 times a year. I travel a lot and prefer not to put 100% of the miles on my personal car. They always have great customer service and really make sure I have the car I need. If they have time, especially on my long drives. They make sure I get a car with Sirius Radio still active. Love their service and they work hard. I have always got the car/truck that I need from them in the last 6 years. I have used them strictly since back in 2008 for all my Car/Truck rental needs. read more

I rent cars frequently through the year as I travel for work. I usually don't have man issues with rentals, but the last 2 experiences with Enterprise have been the worst I have had with customer service in general. I booked a premium car for pickup at Chicago Midway airport, this was a 2 week rental (about $600), I arrived and waited in the first line checked in with their agent on the 1st floor, and was then directed to wait in another line upstairs (some company's days don't even require a visit to the desk... The second desk is where another agent will walk you over to your car and try to upsell an upgrade, and pitch more add on items and insurance so be ready. I was given an Impala, premium car. I noticed some cigarette smell in the vehicle when I got in but I was in a rush because I was now running late because of all the hoops you have to jump through to get my rental car. I drove the car for a day or 2, visiting family. The cigarette odor was so strong my family asked if I started smoking, and my father in law refused to ride in it. The next day I called their customer service number on their website, I explained that the car smelled so bad that I needed to exchange it, but going all the way back to the airport was too far for me. The customer service rep looked up the location near me, which was their Mokena location at 19300 LaGrange Rd, he directed me there to exchange vehicles. I asked if the same car was available there, it sounded like he made a few taps on a keyboard and said "yes there is a chevy impala there and will have it ready for you". He gave me a reference number of some sort, that I will soon find out means nothing at all. I left work a little bit early to make sure I got there before they close, I wait in line and discuss the problem I am having with their agent (Milos). He doesn't know anything about this, that reference number doesn't seem to mean anything, he tells me he doesn't have a premium car or really anything at all. He gives me a minivan, and I ask to come back the next day for my car and he said he will have something, he was expecting a lot of returns through the day... I ask when, he couldn't say, so I come back about the same time the next day leaving work a little early once again. I arrive and while waiting in line I can tell by the look of panic and rushing around that I was not going to be given a premium car that I booked. Finally, after standing there unacknowledged for 12 minutes Milos looks at me and explains he doesn't have a premium car for me (at least he remembered what I look like right...) I said ok, this is the second time im being lied to by an employee of the company. I asked what happened and why... He said his location doesn't keep premium cars on site, and there was nothing he could do about it. I asked why he didn't tell me this yesterday and he said "I said I would have a car for you not a premium car"... The 2 cars he said he had was of a standard class at best. I asked him about a couple other vehicles on the lot that would work for me and he said no, he cant offer me those. I asked about my rental rate and adjustments if you cannot provide what I paid for, once again he explained there is nothing, he can do about it. I asked about my smokey Impala I dropped off, apparently it was shipped over to another location... Why wouldn't another location ship a Premium car over if you offered it to a customer??? More blank stares, no offer of assistance, was told I can take a ride over to another location and try to exchange it there. Unfortunately I don't have the time to be running around to various locations based on word of mouth that have all been lies at this point. I leave with my minivan (that was given to me with a ¾ tank of fuel and another promise), and email customer service from the link on their site. I received an email back from their customer service, they explain they will engage the Management at the Midway location and have yet to hear back. I returned my vehicle to Midway yesterday, checked my email receipt and have had $40 of fuel charges on a vehicle I picked up with ¾ of a tank and filled up a block away from the return location to avoid more scams! Unfortunately, I have been ripped off again by them with charges that should not be there, and for a vehicle I never received. Don't utilize this company for your rental needs, The vehicles are filthy and smell like smoke, they will lie to you, add charges to your rental that are unjust, and waste your time repeatedly. I tried getting help face to face with a manager, I called the customer service number, I emailed customer service, and have had zero help for a $600 transaction (im even an emerald club member!)... Stay away from this at all costs! I picked up a car from Avis using their App, and the experience has been MUCH BETTER than this. read more

Had a very poor experience picking up a rental for the holidays. The credit card reader would not read my credit card and the branch insisted it was my card and nothing could be done. I have been using that particular card for over a year and continue to use it post-rental with no issue. It was important to me to use a particular credit card because of the insurance I purchase with the card that covers items such as rental cars. I asked if I could get Enterprise coverage if I used a different credit card and then be compensated the amount of the insurance coverage since I would otherwise not be purchasing it. I was told that was not possible. I ended up leaving with the car because of time constraints and assumed I could solve the issue through corporate customer service later in the day. After two calls to corporate customer service with no resolution (they hung up on me after we reached a stalemate), I was told I could visit any other Enterprise location to either remove the insurance coverage (not what I wanted) or to attempt to use my "damaged" credit card at another location so that I could use my card-provided insurance (but no credit was possible due to all of this inconvenience). ...I did take the time to visit another branch (New Lenox) and they resolved my problem and credited my account very quickly. It appeared to be a 30 second fix for this branch, and they were extremely apologetic and polite. They did have to type in the credit card number, while the associate at Mokena told me that was not possible to do. I have no idea why this branch was so difficult to deal with and yet New Lenox (5 minutes away) resolved almost instantly and apologized on behalf of Mokena on top of that. Mokena refused to take my card, refused to try a different card swiper, refused to get management involved, and refused any sort of credit for the additional insurance I had to buy...Took four very frustrating phone calls and a visit to the New Lenox branch and they had it fixed no problem. I dealt with Lisa in particular during this whole transaction and found her rude and unaccommodating. I will continue to not understand why one branch could be so helpful and Mokena tell me absolutely nothing can be done, but either way I'll just use a different rental company next time. read more

Every time I go here for a rental for work, they are always extremely courteous and professional. I did have a pretty long wait once because they were short on cars but they were so apologetic - it honestly didn't bother me, I understand that sometimes things happen(snow) and you can't anticipate how many people will come in on a certain day needing a car. They gave me a complimentary upgrade the time after that and it was much appreciated. The prices are always very reasonable as well. The process is usually pretty quick and easy. I've seen them deal with rude, unreasonable, and irritable customers and they always keep a smile on their face trying the best they can to satisfy the customer. Well on the plus side the car was mechanically maintained and ran well. However even after making a reservation weeks in advance I waited nearly an hour for my car to go be picked up from its oil change appointment. No apology, no explanation, just me overhearing the staff talking to one another. Finally get my vehicle and it's filthy. So filthy in fact my teenagers (the dirtiest aged humans on earth) would not even set foot in it. THEY cleaned it!! 4 teenagers cleaned, vacuumed, Lysol and Clorox wiped this vehicle at midnight so they would feel comfortable in it! Go figure!! I guess they didn't want to be touching the mystery stickiness, the crumbs on the seats and floors and The Who knows what on the windows for the duration of our trip! Never again!! I recently had our company E250 van in for service at Currie Motors for brakes but the van needed much more work so I had to leave it there. Currie Motors called Enterprise to get me a vehicle so that I could drive home. Currie Motors paid for this rental! When the Enterprise rep showed up he took me into a room at the dealership that is equipped with their computer to do rentals and paperwork. He sold me insurance on the car and put a $50 hold on my Discover Card for the insurance and "incedentals". He went to get the car and I was to wait for him at the front of the dealership. He drove up in a Ford Fusion. The car however was covered in heavy snow and was covered with salt and dirt on the sides. He made me sign the paperwork and indicate that the car had no damage. How would I know since they did not bother to even clear the snow from the top of the car or wash it. They store cars at the dealership and the dealer has a car wash inside their impressive service center. This was a first for me. I never had a car rental place give me a dirty car. I drove home, went to the doctor the next day on the way to the dealership and dropped off the car and picked up the van. Four days later Enterprise calls me and tells me they are charging my credit card $49 for 9 gallons of gas and $16 for insurance. I had only driven the car about 40 to 50 miles. When I dropped off the car it had 3/4 of a tank of gas and they gave it to me with just under 7/8 of a tank. The girl at Enterprise insisted that I had returned the car with only 1/4 of a tank. She said they checked in the car on Saturday at 3 pm. Only problem was I dropped the car off at the dealership on Friday at noon! She refused to adjust the bill and so did her supervisor. I called the dealership and spoke with my Service Advisor, Alex and explained the situation to him. He said he would call and talk to Enterprise and give me a call back. He returned my call and after he spoke to them Enterprise agreed to refund the cost of the gas. A few days later I saw the credit on my account. I appreciate that Enterprise fixed the situation but why did it take the dealership having to call them? Why did they fail to treat me with respect? They would not believe that I had returned the car with 3/4 of a tank of gas even though they did not check it for 26 hours after the return? I love Enterprise overall but this incident was quite unfortunate and the people I spoke to were rude and condescending and pretty much called me a liar. They were sloppy and lazy thru this from giving me a snow covered dirty car to failing to check in the vehicle for an entire day after I dropped it off. By the way the supervisor at Enterprise that I spoke to told me they are unable to wash cars in cold weather. Ok but could you at least remove the 6 inches of snow that was on the car with a broom or something? This was a really bad experience. So to make a long story very short, they not only kept our deposit (wrongly), they also charged us more money on top of that. All of these things were confirmed to be wrong by our insurance company who is now reimbursing us for their questionable actions. Each time we called Enterprise, we spoke to extremely rude employees who very clearly did not want to help us. Working with Enterprise was a nightmare and honestly became more trouble than it was worth. I would highly recommend going elsewhere. read more

Rented a Grand Cherokee for a business trip and they brought it to me dirty. Looked like the entire car had been splashed with mud puddles. I was driving to Indianapolis and didn't feel comfortable with the dirty windows affecting visibility and had to wash it. Also as I mentioned the car was rented for business purposes and was dirty to the point that it would have made me look unprofessional. Great customer service here but it's the second time they brought me a dirty car I had to wash before I could drive. read more

Just a f/u to my review from 2 years ago. After several issues with this Enterprise location followed by numerous phone calls and more e mails, enterprise had done NOTHING to resolve anything. Responses from them were always a request for more info, which was provided several times. NEVER a response or f/u from them. We are in this area several times a year and always used them for our rental needs. Thankfully we are now using a competitor with superior customer service. Enterprise has lost our business permanentlly. Their financial loss. Only giving one star because I'm unable to give zero. read more

We had booked a reservation for a rental car the week of Christmas. We were supposed to pick up our rental car at 12:00pm. It was 12:05 and we called to tell them we were almost there. Little did we know they closed at 12:00 and no one answered the phone. So we called customer service and they told us that if we are late to our reservation, they cancel it. She said they usually give an hour window to pick up. I don't understand why they would let us make a reservation at 12:00pm if they close at 12:00. We ended up picking a rental car up from another place. Very frustrating way to start our vacation! read more

Enterprise was supposed to meet me at the car repair shop at 8:30am. They were not there. After 30 minutes, I called and Lisa told me they were on the way. Ten minutes later, no car and I called back to be on hold for 5 minutes with no answer. A vehicle was delivered to a couple waiting with me and it wasn't the correct vehicle. I had to go to the shop to get my vehicle, upon walking in I was greeted with a line 5 people deep and another wait to get a vehicle. This location needs some serious management! read more

This Location has always been great to our family. Have been renting from them about 6 years now Maybe 7. Staff super friendly. And as you know , renting can always bring on surprises and questions, and issues once you leave the lot...But the staff here has ALWAYS been there for us, whether it was solving problems along the way, extending our rental, modifying it on the fly etc etc. Shout out to JIM and RICKEY for all their help !! These guys have been my go to now for almost 10 years. I rented from them for work, rented cargo vans to move my daughter back and forth from college, and rent for pleasure too. Never any high pressure tactics, Just courteous friendly normal people working here with clean great condition cars. Recent visit, they upgraded me as a frequent renter and with possible snow coming , car was literally brand new 45 miles on it. I dont even look anywhere else. I need a car I put in this location and rent from this Mokena location right on I80 and Lagrange rd so easy on off for the expressway. Thanks guys we had a great trip see you soon. read more

In July 2017 I was on a month long business trip to the Chicago, IL area and chose Enterprise Rent-A-Car for my rental for the month. As it turned out, my experience was not only less than satisfying I will not rent from them in the future. Here's why so please read! After driving the rental vehicle for at least three weeks, I received a citation from the Chicago Police Department for the vehicle having expired Kansas license plates. Had this been discovered by law enforcement while I was operating the vehicle, the vehicle would have been towed and it would have greatly disrupted my work day as I was on a detail from my company in the Chicago area at the time. This would have caused me extra time and expense that I did have to spare. When I received the citation I notified the Mokena, IL Enterprise Office immediately and returned the vehicle the next day along with the citation. This alone took time away from my day also causing additional expense. When I did return the vehicle I made this known to the representative and asked for a $50-dollar credit, which I did receive. I was offered a replacement vehicle which when I drove away from the office and was several blocks away, I attempted to adjust the driver's seat and found that the adjustment handle was broken and the seat was 'frozen' in place. I drove to a nearby destination, approximately seven miles away and immediately called the office to request that they retrieve the vehicle and as I did not want to operate it in an unsafe condition. After being frustrated having to return the first vehicle taking time and expense away from my day, it continued when Enterprise advised they would not retrieve the vehicle and told me to bring it back to their office! It was through sheer luck I was not towed leaving me stranded as I'm sure that Enterprise would not have picked me up since the company that picks you up policy is only good for four miles which is not advertised/disclaimed in their ads! A distance of four miles should be included in the company's advertising of picking up customers. Even though I was renting the vehicle for nearly a month, when I arrived in Homer Glen, IL, approximately eleven miles distance from the rental office in Mokena, IL, I was told that I could not be picked up as I was outside the mileage for pick up. Very poor customer service! Additionally, the Enterprise policy regarding tolls in IL is unacceptable. I was advised telephonically by a male Enterpise employee to not go online and 'attach' my personal IPASS to the rental vehicle. So I followed this guidance and used my personal IPASS in the vehicle to pay the tolls real time. When going through each tollgate the IL tollway system also captures the vehicle's license plate and for rental vehicles', it is their policy to bill the registered owner of the vehicle. I believe Enterprise and all rental companies' in the area know of the IL system tollway's business practice in this regard. Shortly after returning to my residence, I noted a charge on my credit card for tolls. When calling Enterprise Customer Service, I was advised that the customer's credit card information is provided to the IL Tollway System and they are the ones billing me via my credit card. This practice would understandably be unacceptable although the customer representative did not even know his company's own policy. I'll explain, when renting the vehicle and inquiring about the tolls as there are many near the rental office in Mokena, IL, the male employee whom I spoke to advised me to not 'attach' my IPASS to the rental vehicle although did not mention a word about the company's policy of providing my credit card information to the IL Tollway System. I certainly would have objected. Enterprise Customer Service then advised me that I had to contact the IL Tollway System to attempt to have them return my funds (i.e. credit my credit card) for the double charges as I paid for the tolls real time. More time and expense and after I returned to my residence I completed IL Tollway forms and mailed them to recover the funds. Lo & behold, I received a telephone call from the IL Tollway system to advise that they did not bill my credit card and it was Enterprise as noted on my credit card statement which is why I contacted them in the first place. So, I've paid Enterprise for tollway charges and have also paid the same charges to the IL Tollway system. The iPass deal is a lose-lose proposition for the customer and Enterprise needs to include the IPASS with the vehicle as an SOP in this area of IL and charge an average nominal charge to the customer based on a cost analysis of tollway usage by customers over time or provide a disclaimer informing customers of how charges are applied by them and the IL tollway system. To date, Enterprise has not responded to me after contacting them both in writing and by telephone. read more

DO NOT EVER book a rental from Enterprise in Mokena or Bourbonnais. These people need a dictionary to brush up on the difference between "can't" and "WON'T", and "customer service " and "customer screwing". Given that my car died and new one isn't available until Sat, I booked a rental from the "We pick you up" company. OR NOT. I was told that I would be renting a car from the LaGrange Road location in Mokena and they would pick me up. At 8:15am I get a call from Mokena saying they won't pick up for me because it is past their 10 mile radius (by 4 miles) so they have transferred the rental to Bourbonnais location. Less convenient, but OK. At 8:47am Bourbonnais Enterprise calls and tells me they have no cars. Great For $30 or so dollars I can get a cab to Mokena location. Call Mokena, tell them this and say I expect the cost of the cab taken off the rental. Nope, they "can't". Call back to Bourbonnais and tell them FIND a car, or rent me the more much expensive SUV at the economy car rate. Nope, they "can't". 3rd call to Mokena - tell them they need to toss that 10 mile rule out. Again, they "can't" (apparently they wear the type of devices worn by prisoners in the 1992 movie Fortress, so their heads will literally explode outside of that 10 mile radius). They further explained that "they can't go into Bourbonnais territory" - because they are taking WHAT from Bourbonnais who doesn't have a car to rent me. As an accountant, if I had ever made the sort of mistake that cost a client money and great inconvenince, and then told my client "oh well, I'll do nothing to rectify it", I'd have been fired on the spot. But they "can't". Great. Then I CAN'T ever spend another red cent at your business again. I CAN tell everyone I know not to go to Enterprise as well. And I just DID. read more

I have been using the Enterprise location in Mokena for over ten years and seen staff come and go. It would be great to have something in the system that tells the new folks you are a long term customer and to be greeted / treated a little differently than the one time pick up. While working with the public can be tough - not everyone is polite nor kind - a smile and a little banter goes a long way to create a great experience. Enterprise is a great stepping point for many new grads, they need some support and mentoring in how to show they enjoy the today and their job (perhaps a little more like Southwest training). The cars have always been great, pick up and return for me is quick, efficient and they will give me a ride home should I need one - that's a big deal when juggling vehicle repairs, availability to transport, etc. I do hope that I will begin to receive email updates again with the same great offers I received in the past. Enterprise makes it worth renting a vehicle, especially for the weekends. read more

I had a reservation , was called and said they could not keep the reservation, I asked what else can be done. The answer from the representative was rude and said they can't do anything. I was irate by this response, then I called back to speak with a manager, they immediately put me on hold. I called back again, asked for a manager, the rep said she was a manager. The representative's name was Lisa, and she is a manager! Enterprise, you've lost my business!! read more

I have (happily)dealt with them on a couple of occasions, but the last encounter was the best, to date. I wanted to rent for Saturday only, but since they are not open on Sundays, they gave me a super rate of 33.00 for THE ENTIRE WEEKEND. I expressed an interest on a car with exceptional gas mileage; when I went to pick up the car, they had upgraded me (no extra charge) to a car that got 30-35 mpg! Its the little things...for example, they asked me if they could transfer any heavy things from my car to the rental car. When I expressed concern about returning the car on Sunday (yes, they have a key-drop), they encouraged me to keep the car all weekend-and have fun-the car was mine until 10:00am monday morning. It is great to start off a trip with smilimg, helpful, accommodating staff trying to anticipate your needs and taking steps to give you excellent customer service. read more
