Terrible Rental Experience. Rude staff member. Probably because he's the only one there. Didn't have the vehicle type on the lot, then claimed some lame excuse about his computer and my reservation. Left and went This Budget/Avis location was previously a a fast food building & lot. They are understaff, and never seem to have the right vehicles, or properly trained staff. For car rentals use the Enterprise locations about 1 mile east and 1 mile west. We had issues w/vehicle picked up the night before from Midway, put a claim in, the car smelled awful and was making my husband and I sick by time we contacted Budget, rentals already closed, car should never of been rented out. Now we know why they were trying to push a pickup truck on us when we picked up the car. Was given this second address to return the vehicle from agent. The first address given by agent, was in Bourbonnais, which was no such number. We arrived at the Orland Park the next morning, the woman at the counter pulled up our claim and knew the situation, was rude and could not care less about our the situation, no empathy. Just stated we only had electric cars left. We stated that we have never used an electric car before and that we would be traveling, and did not have time to have to keep finding charging stations. She stated all the cars are reserved, we stated we reserved car also and you gave us a faulty car. If they did not have a vehicle available then why did the Budget agents tell us to go to this place. I would never go with Budget again. A letter will be going to headquarters and booked thru Costco travel, they also will be notified. And they charged me for 19 hours $280.12! read more

I went to rent a vehicle on April 13th. They would not accept my documents to prove who I was. They refused to rent the vehicle to me. I have been renting vehicles for 20 years and never had anything like this happen. I went down the road and rented from another company on the spot with my identification with NO ISSUES or questions. I saw 2 weeks later that I was charged $150 and on my cc it says "no show". WHAT??? This company engages in fraudulent charging. You cannot charge a customer IF YOU REFUSE to rent to them! I have attempted to contact Budget on 3 different days with multiple transfers and re-routes. Absolutely an awful experience. Will not rent from any kind of Budget again. read more

I have rented from Budget for over 15 years for work and personally and do not recommend this location. We reserved a van through their app and prepaid for it. Our family needed it only for Christmas Day. The location refused to honor the prepaid rate and proceeded to charge us additionally and we were stuck because we needed the van. Beware of renting from this location, they will try bait and switch when you arrive. read more

Location manager young female associate are horrible. They did not email my receipt, when trying to contact them I was put on hold for 5 min. When I hung up and tried to call back off and on for the next 2.5 hours....my call went to auto service. This place seems to get bad reviews...few, but bad. We have dealt with them twice...the first time was not good (the reserved van was not available on the day we showed up) and the second time it was good (the moving truck was ready and in good condition for our move). So I really think the reviews are a bit hit or miss...and I can see why...but I would give this place an A-Ok rating of 3 stars. This Budget rental place is in the process of moving. They used to be on the corner of 159th and Harlem (7200 West)...but that corner lot - which used to be a gas station - was sold and Budget has moved to 7420 West 159th (right next to the Home Depot and Goodwill Industries stores)...roughly three blocks west of Harlem Avenue. Right now they are working out of a trailer (see picture #1) but will soon move into their new digs (see picture #2). While I can't say I had perfect experiences here, I am satisfied enough to give them another chance. I understand that sometimes the previous renter does not return the vehicle on time (I had trouble returning mine) and that puts the next renter behind the eight ball. The Budget staff are in a tough position...they want to let you be a day late when necessary but that might put someone else out of pocket. Tough position. All-in-all I think this rental place is A-Ok...give them a chance. Budget, by the way, is really an outlet for Ford products...so now you know what you'll be getting. 3 Stars. read more

I just called this establishment....Joshua...who answered the phone, sounded like he did NOT want to be at work at all...I asked him if they had any "economy" vehicles to possibly rent today...he tells me there are NO vehicles available until Monday....um....isn't this supposed to be a car rental place? I think k this place is a joke. I was in a tough spot with only minutes until 600 because my car had to be dropped off at Hyundai. As soon as I walked in I was met with, "Better be quick we close in 3 minutes. Who says that to a customer. I work in the customer service industry and never would talk to a customer/client like that. Their pricing is outrageous $100.00/day for a car. They continued to be so rude. Not one person is professional. You can't call them directly even though they give you a card just goes to some random reservation center which is not any friendlier. I dropped it off nothing said to me I had to ask for a receipt. Asked for a drive 5 minutes away they don't even offer that service. When I dropped off another man came in because the truck they rented him wouldn't even turn on everyone around me seemed disgusted and they don't give a crap!!! Horrible customer service. Rented a vehicle recently. They could not find the keys to vehicle to start. When I went out to the rental, the windshield was covered with snow and ice. I was given a snow brush to clean it off myself, the snow brush broke and I had to wait while the heat thawed the windshield. The vehicle was not brought up front, was not warming for me, and when pointed out the astonishment that the customer was given a snow brush; the response from the individual working was "that's what corporate gives us." Completely unacceptable. Drive farther if you are looking to rent. I will not come to this location again. read more

Great service! Only rental car facility on the south side open Sunday and holidays. Really saves on the added taxes from renting a car from Midway. Staff was efficient. I prepaid my rental online so was in their office less than three minutes before we were out inspecting the car. Return was again very easy and efficient entire process took less than five minutes read more

The customer service here is HORRIBLE. After talking to customer care and securing a car in Orland Park and giving them full payment, JOSH calls and says there is no car for me to get! When I asked why they took my money if no car is available, he said they will do whatever to take your money. JOSH was not understanding at all and not friendly or caring. I had to call customer care back an go further from home to get my car and paid more! JOSH has a lot of bad ratings on here. Get a clue people you are losing business. My husband dropped my off and was waiting in parking lot while I picked up a rental for a work trip. While I was inside, the other rental agent called him an asshole in the parking lot on her way out. His car was parked and he didn't do anything. While this same agent was inside earlier (short heavy set Caucasian girl) she complained about her job, asked if she could leave early and also complained about having to work at 7am the next day. The agent who helped me inside was kind. However, the only car on the lot they were giving me was awfully dirty and the inside of windshield is dirty as well. Car needs an oil change... Don't even try calling them, they won't even pick up the phone. I've tried more than 6 times calling them but it keeps going to an answering machine. My husband and I reserved a car online to pick up Christmas Eve at 1pm. They called the day before to confirm we would be there at 1. We get there Christmas Eve at 1:03, walk in the door, and they say they are closed. We say we had a reservation at 1, so how are you closed? They said their computers shut down at 1 and there is absolutely nothing they can do. I said why didn't you guys tell me we had to be here before 1 when you called to confirm my appointment? They just said they don't know and there is nothing they can do. My Husband asked for corporates number and as he was putting the number in his phone, she says you have to leave the building because you can't be in here when we are closed. We said the door wasn't even locked. They looked at each other with a confused look because they thought the door was locked. They made us leave immediately, and they were both very very rude. The number we called wasn't corporate of course, it was just some customer service rep who said we could pick up a car Christmas Day at a very very far location for almost $200 more than what we had reserved it for. Absolutely ridiculous. Now we will not be able to travel to suee our family Christmas Day because of this. read more
