Renter beware! I've heard about rental car companies trying to stick people for damage that was already there, but I never in a million years thought it would happen to me. My car was in the shop for maintenance and my mechanic had to order parts. My car was being worked in for normal wear and tear of a car that has over 130k miles. Because of the ordering of parts i had to extend my car rental and ended up renting the car for 7 days beginning March 15th. I rented a car at Enterprise in Lanham, Maryland. Before driving off, my boyfriend and myself walked around the car and noted the damages. There were marks on the right hand side of the passenger wheel that looked like the car had rolled over a curb or something elevated. The young lady said that the damage had already been noted so I didn't think anything of it. When I got in the car and began driving, I noticed the car had lane change assist. I chalked this up as the reason to why the car would occasionally shake and not drive as smoothly. I returned the car in the evening after I got off work on March 22nd because the facility closed at 5 pm. The next day I received a call stating the car was received, but there was damage to the undercarriage and brakes. I called them immediately and was told that I must have run over something or hit something. I knew that wasn't the case and asked to speak with the manager. I was placed on hold for a while so I hung up. My boyfriend called them about 20 minutes later and we were put on a three-way call with the manager. I asked the manager was the car checked before I rented it and he said it was. I asked for proof of that information to include dates and proof of the condition it was returned prior to me. I asked for pics of the undercarriage before I rented it or proof there was no prior damage, and he explained the communication with the shop that checks the cars was verbal. He also stated that they only check cars when they believe there is an issue which was conflicting info. The manager's explanation told me that there could've been a small issue prior to me renting it but my continued driving on the prior issue may have made whatever issue was already there worse. I refuse to pay for something that was already damaged knowing that I didn't cause it. My route coming to and from work has been the same for years with no car issues on my personal vehicle. I also have a clean driving record. If I actually hit something I would take ownership and wouldn't be speaking out denying anything, but knowing I didn't hit anything and was extremely cautious I know they are trying to pin undercarriage damage on me that I did not do. Renter beware! You are better off renting from someplace else unless you are willing to be charged for damages that were not caused by you. read more

I rented for the first time from this location. The staff was very professional and accommodating. I ended up renting a vehicle unexpectedly for three weeks. I worked mostly with Jermey, when I needed to extend my rental he went above and beyond to accommodate me. He was very professional and hospitable. Shaq has to be one of the most beautiful spirits ever. She is the manager at this location and she is very professional, genuine and she's "good people". Amara is great as well and assisted me with my first rental car. If I could give no stars the people here are wonderful at making you happy and comfortable enough to buy a car but once you sign those papers believe you might as well can any real help. First they fucked up my paper work and called me multiple times to make sure it got fixed then after that it was nothing else and I kept calling inquiring about my title and tags and just know the solution they came up with. With giving me a check to do it on my own. I'm so mad at this place I wish I could give the car back and never work with enterprise again. Now I'm dealing with dead tags and world wind of trying to get both my title and tags if I could I would say way worse things..... just know they customer service is only for the initial encounter. I'll make sure to never recommend this place especially the one in Lanham where I purchased my car. Wonderful experience. Most rental car companies are slow, uncaring, or hire untrained folks and don't develop them. I needed a car for a one-day trip and looked on Yelp for a good enough place nearby. But honestly, I was surprised at the friendliness, quick service, and yes--they drive me back home after I dropped it off. Agem in particular made the entire experience superlative. The folks in the office shouldn't be penalized for a poor company policy about return of the deposit. This is a great branch with great people. read more

I got into a hit and run accident and my insurance company gave me a car rental through Enterprise. I was directed to go to the location in Lanham, Maryland because it was closet to the repair shop. Upon arrival, the attitudes of the women who work in the establishment met me at the door. I reserved and SUV and was given a Ford F150 pickup truck. At 5'1 this was totally unacceptable. After searching for another car for 2 days (I know it can't possibly take that long to find ANY SUV within 30 miles, they just weren't working) I finally received a Ford Escape. When I exchanged the car, the manager did a very quick walk through and handed me the keys. A process that took all of 4 minutes. It took the repair shop 7 days to fix my car. When I returned to Enterprise Lanham to return the car, one of the women informed me that there was a scratch in the rim and that I would be responsible for the damages. I drove this car to drop my daughter off at preschool daily which is 7 minutes from my house. I in no way scratched the rim of this car. Now I am responsible for fixing a car that I KNOW I did not damage. All of the people at this enterprise with the exception of one young lady are unprofessional, lazy, and lack many skills that it takes to run a car rental branch. I definitely should have taken the time to check out the Ford Escape more for myself, but the individuals at this location are dishonest. BOTTOM LINE, DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!!! read more

Probably the best experience I've had with renting a car. I know the whole reservation in advance should expedite your experience but it's rare it's this quick. I was in and out in 5 minutes! This location has provided great customer service and gave me a car I wasn't expecting but excited to drive! Being a young driver, their fee is a lot cheaper than others I checked in the area. I was given a Dodge Dart. It was a nice vehicle. Making the reservation and picking up the car were easy, but the trouble came when I returned the car. I got my regular vehicle back sooner than expected, so I tried to return the rental early, but it was Saturday afternoon. I learned they were only open 3 hours on Saturday and closed Sunday. I had to leave early Monday for a trip, so I had no choice but to return the rental after hours and leave the key in the dropbox as instructed. Monday morning, while I was already traveling, they called to inform me there were minor scratches above the driver's side wheel well, and that they would charge a $500 deductible and contact my car insurance to file a claim for repairs. I asked if they could hold off until I returned on Thursday, but they said they would start repairs immediately and so I could not see the damage myself. I asked if they had any security cameras on the lot and they said they had none, but it didn't matter anyway since the car is still my responsibility until someone from Enterprise checks the car. I told them not to charge my card the $500 and they didn't argue with me about it, but I later learned it was because they would charge me anyway even if I didn't have enough credit to clear it. I was frustrated and not sure what to do, so I looked online for help with how to deal with this situation. I quickly found many others had the exact same problem with Enterprise, even when returning the car in person, sometimes being charged after being told nothing was wrong. I found they were not even accredited with the Better Business Bureau and in fact already had many similar complaints. I am still fighting this $500 charge now. Bottom line, do not use Enterprise at all, no matter the location. My situation was not an anomaly; it is policy. It is a scam to cheat people $500 at a time and hope nobody is willing to fight it. My experience with this location was great. I called to make an appointment for a vehicle within a short time frame and initally they didn't have any available. While I was on hold for a minute or so, they were able to locate a vehicle and have it ready in time for my appointment. I was picked from my home without any problems and the driver was prompt. Once inside the actual office, everyone greeted me by name and I instantly felt welcomed. I would be sure to use them again as I've never had any issues with their service. read more

I was not a big fan of Enterprise until yesterday. At my neighborhood Enterprise, there was always seemed to be a long wait and poor customer service every time I went there. The service that I received at this location from pickup to drop off was outstanding!! This is really the best service that I have received while renting a vehicle from any company.
