Thank you enterprise rental car for my loaner while my car was in the shop being fixed. Picked it up on Monday Jan 3 and returned it Friday Jan 6. We had a toyota Rav 4. Got to get adjusted to the car like the seats and side mirrors. It was manual so had to pull on the blk bar under the front seat to go forward and backwards. I rarely write reviews for businesses unless they offer something extremely unique or unexpected. In the case of this Enterprise branch, it had all of the ingredients to be mediocre while keeping a healthy business (only car rental service in town, big name chain, etc.) but instead ended up being one of the best rental car experiences I've had. Though the staff is small, they always found time to make sure our experience was as quick and seamless as possible. Cole in particular helped us to quickly check out a mid-size car on a Friday afternoon, and even called ahead of time to confirm what time and car size we'd be picking up. The staff is also helpful for abnormal situations. Halfway through our rental, we encountered a small leak in our tire due to a nail puncture. After bringing it back to this Enterprise branch, Cole was able to send us on our way in a new (and higher tier) car with no questions asked. We were in and out in less than 15 minutes. To summarize the above: car rental experiences often do not offer speed or good customer service. Due to the strength of its staff, this branch offers both. read more

I like having a neighborhood car rental shop in Kailua, especially one that offers complimentary shuttle service to and from my home. I first became acquainted with my local Enterprise when I had to fix my car after an accident. I was back to rent from them again when my car was having mechanical problems. Each time I've rented from them, they've been friendly, courteous, and professional. Although I am hardly a "regular" customer, they have recognized me when I've been back, which is nice. Their prices aren't the cheapest, particularly if you're renting in the middle of the week. I have found it helpful to reserve or at least review the prices online before calling them, too. First off, ive rented from enterprise multiple times now. They have always taken good care of me and my husband when we are in need of a car. Meaning - a good deal, free upgrade, not to mention normally awesome customer service. We've always been well taken are of by them. This location though, either had an issue with me, or an issue with their day. The lady who ran my ticket seemed okay, a little different but nice. However the lady sitting in the back of the office seemed to make a sny little comment at me any time I would say something. Not to mention they both were dressed very unprofessionally and seemed "grungy" looking. Needless to say, I expect more enterprise. This is the first and only time I've ever given a one-star review in over a year and a half of being on Yelp. This location is the worst rental place I've ever experienced. I talked to three different people and they gave me a reservation and told me they would pick me up. I waited outside...nothing. I called and this guy tells me there are NO CARS AVAILABLE! What? They give me a reservation, said they would be at my house to get me, then don't call, don't show up, and then tell me there's no cars. You would think they would have told me that hours ago when I called. Or, at least told me before giving me a reservation. I needed a rental to get to work because I had to have my car towed to the shop this morning. Now I'm going to miss work and likely be reprimanded all because these people don't have their stuff together. This Enterprise location is the epitome of unprofessionalism. Livid. read more

I called enterprise to rent a car and they are suppose to be willing to pick me up. They told me if I made it in time I could rent a car. Duh! When I got there they ask me if I was visiting or living in Hawaii. I told them both. I told them that I didn't have a return ticket yet . They said they needed my lease agreement and a utility bill. I moved her 3 days ago. I don't know who walks around with bills or lease agreements on them. I was unable to rent a car because I don't have car insurance. I just sold my car on the mainland. As a former Manager of Enterprise Rent A Car in California, I know what is expected of each employee so I was very critical in how the transaction was done. Overall the experience was good, my car was ready and there were no issues during the transaction. Let it be known that they will need your drivers license and credit card to put on file ($300 deposit). It's a small thing that some people make a big deal about but as long as the customer is informed of it before the intial transaction I don't think there should be any issues. They do pick-ups but I elected to walk over since the body shop where my car was at was literally across the street. I reserved an economy car and got a Toyota Corolla (Free Upgrade) but it was probably due to the fact there were no economy cars around. Car was a little dinged up but that should be expected of rental cars. The only thing I thought could have gone better was the employees explanation of the contract. I knew what everything said but to to untrained eye it could've been very confusing. Other than that my experience with them went great and I would use again. read more

I wonder if we were scammed. Busy day when we arrived at Enterprise and the initial rental agent says he noted electronically all the marks on the car (upgrade to SUV) and we don't have to do the form ourselves to review the condition of the vehicle...but he does not give us a receipt. When we return the car, the next agent claims we dented the roof and have to pay damages. We did not dent the roof, or even notice the SUV roof at any point until return of the vehicle. We are not tall enough to see the top of the roof without making a special effort. Moral of the story. 1) get the receipt that indicates any existing damage. 2) video the entire vehicle for proof that you did not cause damage. We will never use Enterprise again. read more

I have always had wonderful service from Enterprise. My car broke down and I called Kaneohe. They went out of there way to come and get me and stay after hours to take care of me. I was really in a bind. I needed a car and AAA was towing my car to Honolulu and I had to follow them there anyway the AAA guy waited for me to get back. wow what a nightmare. Took over an hour just to rent a car, the lady was nice. But only had one person renting cars and one person cleaning them

So, I called and got Nick on the phone, who I'm guessing is from a call center. I wanted to rent a car for a day and wanted to see what the rates were. Well, I only have a debit card. And, I live on the island. Nick proceeds to tell me that for a debit card, they put a $300 hold on your debit card until you return the car AND I will need to have a utility bill or pay stub or bank statement with all matching addresses to my driver's license. Okay, so I tell him I rent, I don't pay utilities, my pay stub and bank statements are all electronically. So, he tells me to print them. I don't have access to a printer. And, my ID was from 5 years ago, which I no longer live at that place...so...? I said thank you to Nick and nevermind. Then, I called and actually spoke to someone at their Kailua location just to verify. Don't remember who I spoke, but I asked him and he said everything that Nick said AND added that I needed 3 references! What? Here's my thing, not everyone has a credit card or want a credit card. So, if you are already holding $300 on my debit card, which you already have my card information, why would I need all of those things? You would have already gotten money anyway AND debit card information, which will have the money in it??? I've rented from a lot of different places, especially in the mainland. I've never been asked for all of those things. read more

Absolutely the worst experience from this location today. Previously, they had issues in processing a rental in a timely manner. Today was very poor customer service. I made an appointment three days ago to be picked up at a certain time at a certain auto body shop - giving myself ample time for a business meeting in town afterwards. Ten minutes after the appointed time, I thought I better call. I was assured someone would be there momentarily. Twenty minutes after the appointed time, I call again and was told they had been busy (i.e., YOU'RE NOT IMPORTANT ENOUGH TO WARRANT OUR ATTENTION AND FOR US TO DELIVER THE SERVICE YOU EXPECTED). Forty minutes after the appointed time, the driver shows up (clueless that he is late). Neither he nor Sam at the kiosk apologized for their lousy service. I never made it to the event I signed up for (a one time opportunity). Do I fault these individuals. No. I fault the company for not training their staff in excellent customer service. We rented from Enterprise in St. Paul, MN. We rode the train from Portland, OR and got off in St. Paul. We called Enterprise and they came right over and picked us up. Loved it. Terrible Terrible Terrible. I commented that the car had not been washed and the enterprise lady goes who do you rent from? I said Alamo usually and she goes they have a car wash we have a bucket. When I asked her for another car she told me she would charge me 70 extra dollars. What? Seriously should I take your bucket and hose and wash it myself. To make matters worse I got in the car it smelled of cigarettes and puke also had trash inside. Obviously this car had not been washed when I called them out on it they refused to fix it and the lady was a bitch to me. I instead drove it to the airport location and had it fixed. Terrible customer service here. Worse than terrible. They did nothing to remediate the situation. I am reporting them to corporate. read more

Amazing customer service! Eric was extremely helpful. My wife's SUV was rear ended and the other person's insurance would only cover rental costs for a compact car. This was not going to work as we have car seats, booster seats, and 4 kids. Eric generously offered to upgrade our rental to an SUV but still charge for the compact car if he could not get the insurance company to approve the upgrade. Book reservations online for the best deal. Sometimes if nicer cars are available, they'll offer you free upgrade which is nice depending on what you need it for. read more

The car was dirty when I picked it up but that didn't matter too much considering they actually had cars to rent. They wouldn't pick me up because I was staying too far away. At least they didn't give me any grief about my free upgrade, not that they would have been able to. Renting from here is cheaper than the airport. I'll probably use them again. Got a car with a Air Freshner hanging from the review mirror. Car was vacuumed but car interior was sticky & dirty. Don't understand why they can't wipe down the inside of the car. Outside of car was dirty. Car made a funny noise. Their staff changes so often, we were dealing with a new person again. Manager Never Seems helpful. If you get a White Nissan Altima from them, you will be just as upset! read more

Insurance company arranged for car when my truck was getting some repairs. They were very prompt to get me, were totally buttoned up, eventhough they were not expecting (my fault for not asking insurance in advance but I had thought repairs would take one day). While I was there, a couple came in bitterly complaining that the car they had gotten from the Airport Enterprise (NOT the Kailua location) was dirty- they were very aggressive- not sure why they didn't say something to the airport people, but anyway the staff immediately attended to their concerns, hand washed their car and got them on their way. Meanwhile, the woman helping me called my insurance company, found out what they would cover and offered me options to include a cool little Mini Cooper convertible that was covered fully by my policy.
