My husband reserved a rental for me through Enterprise Rent-A-Car located at 1316 Main Avenue in Clifton, New Jersey, and I had the pleasure of being assisted by Mr. Devin Castillo, a Management Trainee who truly exceeded all my expectations. From the very beginning to the very end of my rental experience on May 9, 2026, Mr. Devin Castillo provided superb customer service. He was professional, patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely cared about making sure I felt comfortable and safe before getting on the road. Traveling long distances alone can sometimes feel stressful, especially when you are depending on a rental vehicle for family travel, but Devin made the entire process smooth, reassuring, and stress-free. What stood out to me most was how attentive he was to my concerns. I specifically asked him important questions regarding the safety and dependability of the truck rental. I wanted to know if the vehicle had gone through proper tire inspections, oil checks, and maintenance before I began my travels. Devin took the time to answer every question thoroughly and professionally without making me feel rushed. His honesty and confidence immediately gave me peace of mind. He also went above and beyond by providing me with emergency roadside assistance information and explained exactly what to do if I encountered any problems on the road, such as a flat tire or breakdown. He reassured me that assistance would be available and that Enterprise would help get me safely back into another vehicle if needed at no additional cost. Knowing that level of support was available made me feel extremely safe and protected during my travels. ENTERPRISE LODI NJ I was sent to a certified auto body shop by the persons insurance company who rear ended my 2 month old jeep wrangler.They in turn got me a rental car from the local enterprise rental Scam company, renter beware ,apparently I had to learn the hard way everyone there is on commission.If they ask you to buy insurance coverage on ur rental and you are an insured driver You do not need to purchase their coverage,but they will some how convince you that you need it.The next scam will be for you to use their EZ PASS set up instead of your own device, they have caught up to the ubber eats and grub hub menu of their own where Your discount from being an EZ PASS member gets passed on to them.I went to 3 more enterprise locations just to ask each place a simple question, if I rent ur vehicle and I am in an accident as an insured driver do I need to purchase your insurance only 1 of the four places I went to gave me an honest answer Anthony rt17 south Paramus read more

Do not rent at Enterprise, they do not care about if you left behind items. recently on 1/13/25 i rent a car from Enterprise at Pittsburgh airport and after dropping the car off 30-45 mins on 1/16/25 i noticed i forgot my beats headphones in the back seat. i went and contacted the customer service desk in person, they called down stairs to guys who took the car and they said the car just left to be cleaned. the customer service desk told me to file a lost/claim on the website in which i did right away and i should receive an email in 5 days. received the email today 1/20/25 that they didn't find anything. they're staff is thief's and i will never use Enterprise again. read more

Good experience here dealing with Natasha and another gentleman who I can't recall his name. We were set up quickly and on our way fast with our vehicle. Although we were originally set up at the Little Falls location, the Clifton location has many more cars and a bigger sized lot. 2 starts because they inventory is good. zero for service! In a 3 week period I was over charged 2 times. The first time I was charged for an extra day. I called and they reversed the charge (although it should not have happened). The second extra charge is still unresolved. Erik is the 'Manager'. I called as soon as I saw extra charge. several calls later it was still not re. ERIK said I had to wait for the person that wrote the contract to return from vacation. Really? The returned and did not returun overcharge. I called Erik AGAIN, he put me on hold until I was disconnected. I calling back and he did not pick up phone. To be clear, it is NOT the customer responsibility to train staff. Retrain your management so they can train your staff. In the meantime, I had to report charges to my credit card. suggestion to Erik, provide full refund and apologize for the absolute awful experience (to a platinum. member no less). read more

They are scammers. they will only try to rent you SUVs or Luxury cars which are more than your insurance coverage and when your car is fixed and returned the rental vehicle they will charge you fees and taxes which your insurance will not cover. Check all their reviews on different sites. You will see so many similar scam stories. Ask your insurance company for differen rental agencies there are many others availavle. read more

Absolutely terrible We went to pick up our car only to find out that the woman running the place gave it away because we were later than our reservation time. it is pretty common to reserve a car for a time earlier than you need it. I have always booked a car for a certain time and shown up later, especially when flying, and it is never a problem. There was no offer of upgrading us into another car at our expense, or for free. No apology, no sense of compassion or understanding at all. Just an uncaring employee who basically told us tough luck and to check back later in the day for an available car. Who does this? This car was to be used as transportation to a job for a gig worker and that was put in jeopardy because of this locations awful service. As a result I had to give up my own car, putting my own job in jeopardy for my return to work Monday after being furloughed for months. If you're looking to do business with a conniving group of snake oil salesmen welcome to Enterprise Clifton. Don't let the friendly smiles and the phony, pandering attempts to act relatable fool you. As a previous happy customer, I expected to be treated with the same respect and care as I had been in the past yet in my latest interaction that relationship has since been tarnished. The team at enterprise prays on women and falsely led me to pay an excessive amount of money in fees and supposed necessary coverages that I never had to pay in the past. The difference between my previous experience and this latest one is this time I a woman, went alone without a man. The team used this opportunity to take advantage of my wallet. Upon discussing this with the team I was met with some of the worst customer service on earth and treated as if it was my fault I do not work at Enterprise and know their policy by heart. They had the gall to say "well I don't know your personality, it's not my fault you signed it", as if that absolved them of being garbage human beings. What a pitiful way to do business, and the worst part was the car wasn't even that clean!!! You left fruit loops in the back and marks up and down the seats from the previous driver. From the bald headed management team to the employees please don't waste your time with these low life, peaked in high school, moronic, repugnant, living in my mom's basement at 30 years old, vermin. I never ended up renting from this place because of a rude first impression. I needed a car for a couple of days while mine was in the shop and I asked my husband to stop by this Enterprise while I went over to pick up a couple of things from a store nearby. This Enterprise is next to a small barbershop so my husband decided to park his car first and go over to the barber's for a haircut (two birds with one stone, right?) before going into Enterprise. Before he could even take ten steps from his car a gentleman came out into the lot and began yelling at him that he couldn't park there, it was only for Enterprise, he needs to move his car ASAP, etc. He was very aggressive and nasty - enough that my usually laid-back husband was bothered enough to tell me this story and asked if we could rent somewhere else. So no, I can't comment on the service inside - because we were scared off the lot even before we could step foot into their tiny building - but for a car rental place that brands itself on customer satisfaction, that was a terrible way to start and I wouldn't trust my money with people who are so aggressively mean to potential customers. read more

The manager hung up on me while I was speaking to him trying to find a resolution in an error my insurance made in payment, that I was not responsible for. He said they called my insurance company, nobody answered so they charged me instead because they have to get their money. I worked customer service for 15yrs at a bank and believe me you DO NOT hang up on customers while they're speaking, let alone refuse to try to find a resolution to the problem. My family and I are victims of Hurricane Ida and that's why I needed to rent a car. The manager and staff had absolutely no consideration or compassion for the hardship I'm going through. I had a great customer service experience but the car I rented was a disaster!!! I would NOT recommend renting a car from any rental company that is not responsible enough to make sure that regular maintenance is being performed before these rentals go out. I had a car with bald windshield wipers. Had it not rained I would have never known. In addition to that, the vehicle need a wheel alignment or rotation because the car was shifting while I was driving. Customer service means nothing if your dead...shame on you Clifton Enterprise. We had the most amazing experience at Enterprise in Clifton, NJ. Customer service was phenomenal. The gentlemen working the desk during pick up were so nice and personable. The primary gentleman (name escapes me) who worked directly with us was so on the ball to the point of calling us the next day before the store even opened to ask if we would be getting the car back that day or extending our reservation. We were just waiting for the store to open at 9 to return it. We went there early and he was there waiting for us. On the day of pick up, he offered us a free upgrade. We put in an order for a mini-van and he said they had an Infiniti full-size SUV if we wanted that instead...our choice. The whole experience start to finish was amazing. It was obvious Enterprise of Clifton, NJ works hard to make sure customer service is of the utmost importance. They made what could have been a very stressful day very easy for us. We will definitely be back in May when we need to rent again. read more

worst . they nickel and dimed my family over a wheel well splash guard, the retainer pin just fell out and claimed it was damage . it was on the passenger side and the dude that looked over my car upon return said it wasn't something i would have hit , that i could have gone over a speed bump lol . i sent pics to three mechanic friends and they said that they are crooks , it's a $5 pin replacement and the panel doesn't need to be replaced they are just over charging . so they charged me an extra $500. will never go back to them again , worst dump rip off ever read more

I have been renting cars from this enterprise for the last few months. The staff is always friendly and accommodating. Don (whom i believe is the GM), is always very helpful whenever I have any questions regarding charges or upgrades. The staff in Clifton makes the process very quick and very easy. I have not been disappointed the last few months, my car is always ready when I arrive and its always 1,2,3. If I could give them zero stars I would. I reserved a car last week for the upcoming weekend and several days later they decide to call me saying that they actually don't have any cars available and that their system allows them to continue accepting reservations even though there is no inventory. How is this acceptable? Not to mention NOW finally their system online shows no available cars so clearly he was lying to begin with. Neither this branch nor enterprise corporate was able to help find a solution and told me i was "lucky" that I was given 2 days notice instead of day of notice which is apparently what they usually do. Very upset how this place treated my father when he had to rent a vehicle. He returned the vehicle after the loaned period and bogus charges appeared on his credit card. When he called enterprise questioning theses charges he was told there was damage to the car; when there absolutely was not. Had a wonderful experience with both Natasha and Sara at this location - both were cheerful, professional, and accommodating the whole way through! I originally made a reservation with the Budget / Avis / Payless on US-46 (a serious hole in the wall in Little Ferry) and was refused service / bait and switched, which left me in a huge bind because I was headed out for vacation that day. I called over to Enterprise immediately - Natasha picked up the phone, was very polite (despite my being frantic) and quickly confirmed that she had a car I could rent for a few days - and for 20% less than I was being bait and switched for at "Budget" (of all places). I headed straight over to Enterprise. First off, I would like to commend this Enterprise location on keeping a REAL office - surprisingly, this isn't easy to find at rental car agencies outside the airport. The office was large, air-conditioned, and very clean with restrooms / a full waiting area, and 2 separate buildings (1 for sales and the other for rentals). First thought I had walking in after my Budget experience: "what a relief to be walking in to a legitimate business." Natasha saw how bad of a day I was having already, and assured me that we would be out of the parking lot in 20 minutes. It probably took less than that - she was absolutely fantastic. Was able to get the car washed, the paperwork finished, and the inspection complete in 10-15 minutes. On top of that, she was upbeat / polite - just a real pleasure to chat with! Before we left, she gave me her card, and said if we had any trouble with the car / needed anything, to call over to the office anytime. I did end up calling in with some questions the following day, and Sara was able to take care of me. I want to stress how happy I was (and still am) with the experience. It's tough enough to find a good business (especially when others are turning your reservations away)...and Natasha / Enterprise team did it same day, with just 15 minutes of notice. I can't thank you enough! Would rent a car here a 2nd time in a heartbeat. read more

I recently did an online reservation on 7-17-19 with an Enterprise operator-(she was very polite, professional and helpful), and was informed that I would get picked up by a Clifton Enterprise representative. I was given of my reservation information followed by the number to contact the location directly and the prompt to make my pick up arrangements. When i called the Clifton location the representative told me that they only pick up in Clifton, NJ. So I had to now make alternative arrangements to get to the Clifton office. When I get to the Clifton office, I was now informed that if I was using a debit card I would have to have 2 recent utility bills for proof of address. When I spoke with the Clifton representative on the phone earlier he never mentioned or advised me on that policy. Afterwards, I returned the vehicle on that same evening 7-17-19 with no issues and a little over half a tank of gas from how I received the car. I was charged $71.58 for the rental and an additional hold on my debit card of $250.00, which I was informed would be released back to my account once the vehicle was returned with no issues-(as outlined in the rental contract). I decided to call the Clifton location back today 7-19-19 when I noticed there was still an additional $250.00 charge on my debit card. When I spoke the representative today he told me someone from his office-(Clifton Enterprise) was trying to contact me. I initially left two available working numbers which they could have reached me on. I had no missed calls or messages from this office. I was told there will be a release for the $250.00 funds to return to my account my next Wednesday. Why should I have to wait until next Wednesday when my part of the contract was upheld and followed through as agreed. This was/is poor business practice, not to mention the horrible miscommunication by the Clifton Enterprise representatives!!!! My union has a contract with Enterprise which is why I used them in the first place. I would never use this location again nor recommend it to anyone else!!! My $250.00 has still not been returned two days later after they received their vehicle!!! read more

I rented from this location a few weeks ago and overall the rental process was fantastic from beginning to end. All the employees were courteous and professional. The assistant manager, Sarah was very friendly and flexible. They had a few choices of different vehicles and I even upgraded to something bigger and more comfortable for my family. I normally rent from hertz because there is a location near my house but after this excellent experience there would be no need to go anywhere else. This place in Clifton has the worst customer service! They recently charged an unauthorized $250 to my credit card for a damage that we had already agreed to pay on a specific date. We've been in constant communication with them, Made an agreement and they went behind our backs and made the charge anyway without notifying us. They had every opportunity to advise us that our card would be charged as we spoke with them the day the charge was made. Instead they were very sneaky about it. When we reached out to them about the charge they were very condescending, sarcastic and rude stating "we can't wait on you and had to do what we had to do". Extremely unprofessional and unethical! Not to mention, they NEVER have vehicles when you arrive to pick up your reserved vehicle. They inconvenience customers by having them drive or they drive the customers to a different location to pick up a vehicle. Never using enterprise again! read more

I've used this location for years. Always helpful, always have car available, clean, on time, unlike some other companies that have had me wait until the previous renter pulled in and I was given the car with barely a wipedown. Even if they didn't have a Standard, gave me a Full with no extra hassle. Have used pick up service, which is useful when my husband can't drop me off, though found it best after 9am and before 3pm. Mornings and evening wait time is longer. Never felt pressured to buy their insurance or other add-on services. Timely electronic receipts and the extra safety charge drops immediately. I have used other companies and keep coming back to Enterprise, this location and others. I do a lot of regional travel, and for the price, this is an excellent option. Unless your business has a corporate account with one of the majors, this is a great company for personal and self-employed/small business needs. read more
