Terrible place to rent a car. Want you to jump through hoops. Very unaccommodating. Went to hertz.... They were great!!!

At night after two hours of this new argument on many different phone calls I was told then by Italia in Oklahoma City that I would have to risk my life driving a replacement car sleep deprived in the rainy dark of night in a strange town (driving from Rochester to Canandaigua after riding with the tow guy to Rochester) if I wanted a replacement car after my broken hertz car was towed because they refused to tow the replacement car to me at the hotel in Canandaigua. I said no to dying on the road sleep deprived and then was verbally abused by Italia telling me it was my fault I did not want to die. Italia still refused to have a car towed to me and chastised me for not wanting to drive sleep deprived. She said that meant it was my fault. I needed to get the replacement car before I finally went to sleep because if I waited to get it I would later loose another travel day (another twenty four hours) making another forty four phone calls to try to get a functioning car. I have been waiting for a replacement car to be towed or driven to me for over 22 hours now. On the very first call to them yesterday morning after the car broke down I was lectured repeatedly by roadside assistance that if I was calling roadside assistance it would have to be because I need roadside assistance. Because that and most agents talked over me it was a while before I could get a word in edgewise to say that the reason I am calling roadside assistance is because I need roadside assistance because the car broke down. Then I was lectured for my manners for speaking when the agent was speaking and told (by multiple agents at roadside assistance contact center in Oklahoma City Oklahoma) company policy does not include refraining from speaking while the customer is speaking. I was also told to change my upset tone of voice to a tone which the agent was more comfortable with or the agent WOULD HANG UP ON ME. I had to train the agent there is a difference between an upset customer and a disrespectful customer. Even if I was disrespectful which I wasn't, the only thing valid for disconnection would have been abusive profanity. There was no profanity on that call. The local hertz in Canandaigua says they cannot bring a working car out to me because the person at the desk is the only person there and apparently do not want to mention the reality that they can simply call a manager on the TELEPHONE. It is dark now because it is night time at 5:39 am. I have been calling hertz asking for a functioning car since 7:48 am the previous day. To help hertz with their no-person-can-have-2-cars-in-break-down-situations policy I had hertz tow the broken down hertz car away. Now roadside assistance has me on hold for 45 minutes after grilling me like a prison camp interrogator about the color of the broken down car which they insisted was black. What does the car being gray have to do with "get me a working car"? Hertz roadside assistance in Oklahoma City is an unspeakable s**thole. NO ONE SAID IM SO SORRY, WE WILL GET A WORKING CAR OUT TO YOU AS QUICKLY AS WE CAN, NO ONE. They all jacked me around with endlessly variable ridiculous abuse. THE CORRECT RESPONSE IS IM SO SORRY, WE WILL GET A CAR OUT TO YOU AS QUICKLY AS WE CAN. Kyle agent 0339 told me he did not need his job and refused repeatedly to say that most simple of things. Kyle told me he did not want to tell me he was sorry the hertz car broke down. Deangelo also refused to apologize for the hertz car breaking down. Deangelo gave the reason as Kyle told Deangelo Kyle apologized. The hertz roadside assistance also tried to provide medical judgement. There seemed to be no end to the harassment and abuse Hertz subjected me to: **UPDATE* I am hoarse from having to call hertz 44 times over a 28 hour period (no sleeping that night) to get a smoked-in car that I had to spend hours airing out so I could travel in it after hopefully in the future getting enough rest to be able to drive it. Having to call the Oklahoma City contact center 44 times FOR 28 HOURS and be abused, lectured, and argued with, WITHOUT being told the simple "I'm so sorry that happened, we'll get a car out to you as soon as we can" IN A ONE CALL RESOLUTION cost me being able to function at the event I paid over $100,000 dollars for (I'm not rich and paid it a little at a time working overtime at some points) and spent FIVE YEARS planning and working toward. The only way this can even approach being made right is if Hertz closes it's Oklahoma City contact center, moves it to Pensacola Florida (they say "I'm so sorry that happened" in Pensacola and do their jobs), and provides me with free rental cars and good customer service for the remainder of my life.

That alone was extremely unprofessional and uncomfortable. We were also told that someone would assist us shortly and asked to wait. After some time, the same staff member returned and asked if we had figured things out ourselves, which directly contradicted what we were told and made the situation more frustrating. Later, another staff member was sent to help us. While we were speaking with them, we could still hear the original staff member continuing to make negative remarks, including a comment suggesting that we would be made to wait regardless of whether we were able to get the car. Hearing that while actively trying to resolve the situation was incredibly disrespectful. Overall, the interaction felt dismissive, poorly handled, and lacking basic professionalism. Given that this location is near a large deaf community, a higher level of awareness and respect should be expected. Based on this experience, I will not be returning.

We were driving to Buffalo from Long Island and luckily at the end of the trip we were going locally, then the worst happened when the transmission of our car went, my husband was trying to make it to a parking space and so it happened it was Enterprise, we are seniors and needed help pushing the car up, and as busy as they were they helped us. The car was towed away so we had to empty all of the packages we had and again we were allowed to stay in their store until my son picked us up. Thank you again.

Well apparently this location feels that as long as they leave you a message telling you to call back when you can and then tell you sorry no van, good luck that is what customer service is. The manager on duty was so condescending, "Well this is a holiday and you had last minute booking." I had to BEG her to check other locations for me. I tried to explain how was one available on the website, but now it's not. She explained well there was one and the lady was on her way in who booked over a month ago. I still was confused all the other locations that didn't have a minivan, just didn't have it listed as an option. Why did their website tell me it did and allow me to book a minivan? She kept insisting that she doesn't control the website and their is a delay. However if you had (1) minivan booked over a month ago....WHY DIDN'T YOU UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE!!! I'm writing a review not just to vent but to be heard at this location. You cannot treat customers the way you treated me today. You showed zero compassion, zero understanding and ZERO accountability. Yes, was I frustrated, yes I did raise my voice, I'm sorry. If you would'v'e started out the conversation in a different manner I would've responded in a different manner. To the store owner, I hope you hear and take this seriously, the store manager whoever her name is needs a serious reminder that she is in SERVICE industry. We SERVE people and if she doesn't understand that she might want to look for a new career path.
