My car was damaged in the recent hailstorm, and my insurance set up a rental through Enterprise. I came in a few days after the storm and was greeted and taken care of promptly, even though the staff was extremely busy helping others in the same situation. I was in and out in about 15 minutes! We made reservations Sat. morning, July 11th for a car and even received confirmation through agent and email. We received a phone call from Joe Preusser stating to come after 11:00 and he will have a car for us. When we arrived, after 11:00, he stated we don't have a car yet, we would need to wait. We waited about half hour and Joe stated we don't have a car you might want to try Orland Park, and we asked when do they close and he stated 10 min. like us! Well, since it is about half hour drive, we knew that could happen. No empathy, could not care less! We were stuck with no vehicle! Poor customer service! And why were we told there was a vehicle available?? Very sad, we and family have used this place in the past, not anymore! read more

I travel for business frequently. At times, I must rent from this local Enterprise if I'm driving somewhere in the Midwest. Probably 50% of the time I get a car that is quite filthy when compared to other Enterprise locations. Here's an example from March 2017, rented a economy car, set my phone down in the cup holder and pulled it back out to find some sort of sticky sludge all over the phone case. Which then got all over my hand. The rest of the car had dirt on the inside and the touch screen was greasy all over. This location puts little effort into providing a clean car, but puts maximum effort into charging you a premium price. The sales person sat in the visibly dirty car to check the mileage, but since dirty cars are commonplace he didn't think to offer me a different car. I wish I had other options in the area, these cars are routinely gross (to be fair 50% of the time at least). UPDATE 3/23: Sent the email to customer service yesterday. DO NOT RENT FROM ENTERPRISE!!!! Rental car was dirty and smelled like smoke. Had no choice in car....had to take this car as we were getting a car on site after ours was in the shop. Smoke smell got really bad when later after renting, we turned on a/c. We found marijuana seeds in the rear cup holder. Enterprise offered to replace the car if we brought it back but we were already gone from the area. We washed it and put in air fresheners in the ducts to cope. My family was visiting us from hawaii so we needed a 7 passenger vehicle for them. Joe told my in-laws that they will not rent to them because they had temporary paper drivers licence. So we told them that's fine, we just assume that was part of there policy. So i left work early the next day to rent a vehicle in my name, but since i had an out of state license joe said i needed a credit card because of my out of state license and he would not accept my local bank debit card. So we left again and had to cancel plans because we could not rent a 7 passenger vehicle. The next day we had to bring my wife in and get it in her name which luckily she had a illinois driver's license and they accepted the debit card. There was a female clerk which she gave us great customer service. So as we are in the rental process i told them we needed a 7 passenger vehicle i requested a s.u.v which the female clerk said they had some, but she turned to her manager joe and then he looked at us and said only if you have a credit card. So it was very upsetting to tell us we can rent a van or car's with a debit card, But when i told joe i will pay extra for the s.u.v he said credit card only for the s.u.v. We had no choice but to fit 7 adults in a filthy grand caravan that was very uncomfortable. So our family really felt discriminated against by joe when we went back and forth to meet Joe's requirements to rent from his store. What i don't understand is why we can rent car's and a van from joe's store using a debit card from my wife's local bank but when we wanted a nicer s.u.v and was willing to pay more he said credit card only. It seemed as if he found pleasure making our family jump through hoops by telling us no and when we finally had all required documents but wanted a nicer vehicle he told us we need to use a credit card's for s.u.v's. I rented a vehicle on Wednesday November13th 2019 at 530pm cause my GF is getting her engine repaired right when I got the car I didnt know what time they closed so I went there first and went to TUFFYs auto body shop and didnt realize they give out a free L9aner vehicle so 10 min later they picked up the rental at Enterprise.. What I'm pissed about is I didnt even have the car for 15 min and get charged 70 dollars... how is the possible.. this is a second issue I've had with enterprise I will def not return read more

Got charged $198 after being quoted $132 and I returned the car a day early! Was told I opted for their liability insurance which I have never done since I carry my own full coverage insurance. I've used Enterprise for YEARS and am a rewards member. They wouldn't even work with me on this. Very adamant and unfriendly. They sure didn't have a problem renting me the car when I came in. I'm giving the customer service 5 stars. I rent from them when I am in Colorado, and they have great service as well. I know I did not have a choice in the car I got because my insurance company was providing me with the car. The car was smelly (cigarettes), and the cloth seats were stained. But in the end I was glad just to have a car. read more

I was very happy with my experience renting from Enterprise in Bourbonnais. The people who work there were very nice! The car I rented was nice and in great condition. The only negative was that I reserved the car online for a 9:00am pick up time on Saturday morning; I came in the office at 9:05 to find several people in line in front of me and only 2 employees working... If Saturday is a busy day for pick-ups (which, no doubt, it is! and I was very patient and understanding), then they need to staff the office with more people for these busy times. It was 10:00am before I left with the car. Good thing I wasn't in a hurry to get on the road! While I was there picking up, all of their computers crashed causing an even longer delay....AND when I returned the car on Monday the computers crashed again! (Enterprise: Time to Get Some New Computers!!!!). A couple of people in line in front of me were impatient and even a little rude to the employees - and they handled those people with professionalism and were very kind to everyone. I understand computer crashes will happen and long lines, it was just very nice that the staff were so kind. When I returned the car on Monday I needed a ride home and they gave me one, I didn't have to wait at all for that. I will definitely rent from them again and recommend them! read more

My family and I just got back from a wonderful road trip to Colorado and were in need of a mini van that could hold 6 of us and our luggage and gear. I had Kyle from this location help me from start to finish. He was was such a great help from booking to returning the car and kept asking answering all of my questions with a smile and great attitude. Many thanks to Joe Blanchette who picked me up at the nearby Ford dealership right at closing time. My car had broken down while I was traveling on business. I was 2 hours from home and 2 hours from my business appointment, and I needed a solution fast! I called ahead to Enterprise (just before closing at 6) to say I'd be at the dealership in 10 minutes (also closing at 6) and explained that I desperately needed a car before they closed. Joe picked me up promptly, helped me get my luggage and heavy briefcase transferred between the cars, and drove me to the Enterprise location nearby. Assistant manager Chris Kemp gave me a half price rate on the vehicle Joe picked me up in, to save me the time and aggravation of transferring all my stuff into another car again. I was back on the road to my business appointment within 25 minutes of making that first call to Enterprise. The good service continued the next day, when my husband notified them I was going to drop the car off at another location. No problem was their answer to everything. I really appreciate the above-and-beyond service right at closing time. They turned a very stressful situation into a hassle-free experience. read more

I have never had a bad experience with Enterprise until this time. I made a reservation on line and naturally wanted the best rate for my vacation in Illinois. Luckily there was a 9.99 weekend rate, so I paid that plus a day or two at the regular rate. I drove around for two days when something said to look at the contract. My weekend rate only allowed me 100 miles a day! HUH! Where they do that at? I called to confirm and was told that that was right. My question was, who was going to determine how many miles I drove only on the weekend (@ 100 pr day) vs. how many I drove with the regular rate. He admitted he didn't know and asked his manager. I was then told that my entire rental was considered a weekend rate. Well because I was already at 397 of the 400 miles I was allowed, I returned the car. When I get there he apologized and showed me on the paper work where it was noted. Apparently they thought I was going to cuss scream and argue because they printed out the online confirmation that I guess I would have seen. I told them, I don't dispute it. I'm returning the car because I am not paying 0.20 a mile for the next two days. Well wouldn't you know, the price was just over what it would have originally been had I kept the car for the next two days. I'm like, wait. Somebody's math is wrong. Turns out, they charged me for the two days I had it and then for mile overage!!!!! Needless to say, I'm pretty upset but simply pay then one of the agents politely (no sarcasm) said that next time I should make sure I read the contract. I smiled, left and immediately call corporate. I explained the situation and got a call from MIKE WILLIAMS (Regional Manager) two days later. I explained again the situation and assured him that I was not trying to dispute it...it is what it is. I just thought that the entire situation could have been handled differently. First, with the agents explaining in detail every point of the contract (who rents a car and only drives 100 miles a day) and second an exception could have been made if not for the possibility of losing a customer. Well, MIKE agreed, and refunded me the cost of the mile overage (which was about half of the entire rental) and apologized that I had a bad experience. As I started out, Enterprise has never given me issues and I'm happy to use them again. read more

Reservation was for a CAR, they called Tuesday to confirm I would be there and I said yes, I was about an hour late and they had NO CARS "upgraded me to a SUV"--which for most folks would be good EXCEPT i am afraid to drive SUV's. Weather was horrible, bad storms in area, did a HEAVY SALES pitch to drive to get me to buy hail insurance--I had the car for 4 hours. Very disappointing what should have been an easy drive turned into a white knuckle experience for me. read more
